Got a phone call from my friend today who was sitting in a packed emergency room, and had been there for a few hours she was waiting to get seen for her hip. She told me she ran into somebody that she knew but they didn't recognize her because she had a mask on so she took her mask off just so...
It's a costume parade through our lobby where they pass out candy. They do it every year. They won't change it. Our activities director doesn't take COVID seriously.
Here at the Retirement home, we are again hosting 80 (!) Kids from the nearby daycare center for a Halloween trick or treat indoors. I have always felt this is a recipe for disaster...a bunch of old, frail, vulnerable folks with children including infants!! And all the colds, COVID, flu, RSV...
Got my Covid vax. Will get flu shot on Oct 13. None of the pharmacy staff were masked even though visibly sick people were in the store...looking for Tylenol, etc. Other than medical offices, I can't think of a worst place not to mask!
I feel so stupid! I was just going to run into Walgreens to pick up my online order do it quickly and leave. I didn't have a mask with me and I felt like this time will be fine. What did you know that right behind me in the line was a mother with a very very sick child picking up some...
You know what's nuts? A coroner coming to get a deceased person from our retirement home, put them on a gurney, wheel them out, all the while unmasked. Saw with my own eyes. Super risky if this is how they conduct business all the time. Yes, the room was packed with family, no they don't know...
It's been a long while since I've been on the thread. Hope everyone is doing well. Here at the retirement home we have a 97-year-old in the hospital with covid and pneumonia, he's not doing so great as you can imagine. Other than that we've had five people with covid here who have all recovered...
Greetings from the Retirement home! I caught up with all the posts finally. Here, there has been remarkably no Covid cases that "I know of" lol....we do have folks that have been sick, but thankfully stay in thier rooms when they are. As far as testing goes, I don't see that happening, so its...
Update from the Retirement Home: surprisingly we have had zero Covid patients onboard for months now. Not that I still don't mask, because I do. We have a casino trip coming up next week and I plan on going but will be masked the whole time I am there (will be probably the only one!)
My...
Had to go to Urgent Care yesterday for a UTI. ugh...anyways, the place was packed with coughing kids, babies and adults. Everyone had an Upper Respitory problem...and the front desk worker was NOT wearing a mask! I was appalled.
Plus, I would say it was 50-50 on mask wearing, with NONE of the...
I ALWAYS without fail wear a mask whenever I go anywhere. One of my good friends here at the Retirement Home had a table at one of the Christmas Craft shows at a nearby church. She was there for hours, selling her blankets, amongst crowds of people, no mask of course.
She is in the hospital as...
It is very frustrating to see newborns in Walmart (of course they can't wear masks), see my friends here at the Retirement home partipate in craft shows for hours with crowds and no masks, singers coming here to sing holiday songs with no precautions and holiday parties scheduled for the next...
@slowpoke if it's any consolation, my father who is 91, had Covid recently. He is NOT boosted (only had the original vaccine because he is stubborn like that) he is a Gastric Cancer survivor (does not have his stomach) and did NOT go on Paxlovid - and he survived Covid with barely any problems...
