I hope Aurora and her daughter are found safe!!
There doesn't seem to be any updates since the original LE announcement that they were missing.
Is it that LE doesn't believe foul play is involved? No matter if it is or isn't, Aurora is only 17 and her young daughter is dependant on her...
One item I noted from the prosecution witness today was that Chad's children had agreed, on the day the kids were found, to talk to LE. But the next day they refused to cooperate after discussing it with Chad. I think this was a good set-up before any of Chad's kids take the stand for the...
I will reiterate my view that JP is a great defense attorney. Do I like his style? No. Definitely not.
But here is a guy trying to defend his client against the death penalty, ALL BY HIMSELF. He has shown that he is generally on top of things; disrupts a bit of the prosection's case; and, can...
fingers crossed!!!
Not prejudicial to defendant.
Can the court allow amendment? Yes, wording of count 4 should never have been changed.
Juries can be provided with a curative instruction.
Judge needs to figure out the mechanism.
YES! Count 4 still stands!
So who is the 3%er? Lori asks Chad if Ray (Alex) can do something about it...like hit them. Chad says 'no violence'. Lori replies, no, just to get attention....to mute her.
So the 3%er is female. I'm guessing Heather Daybell (or possibly Kay?)
On the jailhouse call Lori says to Chad that, looking back, there are things she could have done to have reduced the risks to the 'plan', but they weren't made aware of the extent of the risks in the blueprints. (Seems like a jab at Chad to me.)
Chad replies that he is thinking of previous...
In the call Lori is asking Chad to ask Alex some questions on her behalf...to get information for her. So the prosecution is showing that Chad is calling the shots.
So my interpretation so far of this call (I'm still behind) is that the 'contractor' (i.e. Alex) didn't do the job perfectly as planned. The plan is taking longer than anticipated, just like home renovations. And while that plan has not gone smoothly the contractor is promising that it will all...
I'm behind, but I believe he is 'talking to' Alex (who was deceased by this time). If I heard correctly, Chad says he texted him.?? Did I hear that correctly?
Am I the only person who is tired of all of the recent 'religious' cases? What would Jesus do? I'm pretty sure it isn't what was done in this case or in other cases such as the Chad Daybell case.
I hate that people of religion look down on those of us who aren't religious. There are good and...
It is devastating to watch Charles trying to explain to police how crazy Lori is and that she is a 'risk' to others. I can't imagine how that police officer feels now, knowing that Charles and the kids were murdered. Of course he had no way to know that at the time. So many couples experiencing...
Regarding the topic of Chad not wanting his name on his wife's headstone, I find this shocking. I am into family ancestry and gravestones are a wonderful source of information for family researchers. The LDS church values family history work more than any institution I know of. They have family...
I'm sorry, but I can understand standing by their father if they were teenagers, or if it was shortly after the murder (and, yes, it was a murder), but cannot understand standing by their father with more time and information. My father left my mother for another woman and it unfortunately...
I agree. I think having 3 people who saw Tammy shortly before her death all say the same thing, makes it more difficult for the defense to argue that Tammy was sick.
If/when Emma steps up for the defense, the jury will see it for what it is...a child fighting for her father's life, not...
Welcome back. And yes it is a difficult case to follow with so many aspects.
I'm curious as to which Melani/Melanie you are referring to. Gibb, or niece?
Chad's kids have not been at the trial, and, of course Chad's lawyer is trying to blame anyone other than his client. He seems to be focused...
They (the 2 Melanies and Zulema) all belong in prison. They willfully ignored the fact that the kids were missing. They tried to cast the demons out of the dark people and then the dark people ended up dead. They were ok with that. They didn't show one iota of responsibility to fellow humans.
Of those I think the raccoon text is key. It shows he was covering up activity in the backyard that day and can't blame it on Alex secretly burying JJ and Tylee. The rest is helpful, but not necessary.
Jury, you have enough. Just find him guilty!!!!
Wow. That call that Ian P recorded....with Chad giving them (MBP & IP) instructions to move to avoid LE, is a clincher.
I can't imagine how a jury couldn't convict Chad based on the following 5 key points:
1) kids found on property
2) Chad's text re raccoon (has this come in yet in this...
But how do you know he is truly a 'man of God'? There are many pastors who have done terrible things. There are many non-church goers/leaders/believers who are wonderful people. I don't think you can judge people based simply on their position in a random church.
ETA: That doesn't mean that...
