Thomas William Barkfelt
Case Classification: Endangered Missing
Date of Last Contact: October 12, 2015
Location Last Seen: Pineville, McDonald County, Missouri
Description:
Barkfelt was last seen in Pineville, Missouri on October 12, 2015. He was telling people he'd gotten a home in McDonald County, Missouri and was moving there, which wasn't true. He suffered from delusions after having a brain tumor removed earlier that year; his loved ones believe he was in a delusional state at the time. He has never been heard from again.
Barkfelt's light blue Ford Ranger pickup truck was later found abandoned and was towed on October 24. It was located in the Spavinaw Hills State Game Refuge, southwest of Eucha Lake Dam in Delaware County, Oklahoma. His wallet, cellular phone, and car keys were inside the unlocked vehicle, but there was no sign of him. His shoes were also left behind. Game wardens can account for the truck being there since October 15. It was later discovered that the vehicle belonged to Barkfelt. Despite extensive searches conducted, he has never been located.
Barkfelt lived in Fairland, Oklahoma at the time of his disappearance, and both Missouri and Oklahoma police are investigating his case.
