Unfortunately for me, weight just seems too off here. It's an almost 100 pound difference. If you feel strongly about this match though, submit it!

I expect that this comparison has been made because of the proximity and similar time frames. Nevertheless, the remains strongly resemble MP Sarah Otting who was last seen the day prior to these remains being located. Sarah was last seen in Statesboro, GA late December 1st/early December 2nd with another minor who has since been located. She was last seen about an hour north of the location that these remains were located <24 hours later. This does not quite match the PMI of 5 days (vs. 1 day) estimated by the GBI. Further, the remains are estimated to be from a taller (>7"), larger (>75 lbs) female than Sarah is listed. But the rendering of the remains seems dead on for Sarah:

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The woman who was found dismembered in Riceboro in December 2022 has been identified.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Mindi Mebane Kassotis was 40-years-old when she was found on December 2, 2022.

Mindi’s body was found on a hunting club which covered areas in Liberty and McIntosh Counties. Mindi’s remains were identified on May 11, 2023.

Mindi and her husband, 40-year-old Nicholas James Kassotis, or Nicholas Killian James Stark, were living in Savannah at the time of Mindi’s death.

Agents with the GBI requested the FBI’s assistance with geneaology DNA. According to the GBI, the FBI received results that furthered the investigation.

The GBI says they also interviewed family members and got DNA swabs for comparison to the profile created through genealogy DNA.

Nicholas was arrested on May 12 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in connection with the death of his wife.

He is being charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and removal of body parts from scene of death or dismemberment.

He is being held at the Lancaster County Prison awaiting extradition to Georgia.

I’m trying to determine if she was ever reported missing by family/friends and haven’t made it that far, but one of the first results after googling her name is their marriage announcement from 2016. Eerie to read it now, of course, but it appears they both were very educated and accomplished and seemed to have a promising future. Also found it interesting they both had many family members in the wedding party and mentioned in the write-up, so it’s strange to me that it took so long for Mindi’s remains to be identified… and that there is nothing about her being missing for six months on the first page of google results of her name. Very bizarre.
