Published reports say Bowers accepted a last-minute plea deal for a 36-month jail sentence. With time already served and sentencing guidelines making her eligible for 12 months of community custody, Bowers may only serve another year behind bars. Bowers could have been sentenced to over 30 years in prison if found guilty on the identity theft charges.

GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, Wash. - Jordan Bowers is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning in Grays Harbor County to be sentenced after she accepted a last-minute plea deal in an identity theft case, not linked to her missing daughter Oakley Carlson.

Bowers and her husband Andrew Carlson are the prime suspects in the disappearance of six-year-old Oakley Carlson. She was last seen in Feb. 2021.

Recently released court records show that that prior to her disappearance, Oakley was kept in a locked "cell" underneath the stairs.

When her sister was interviewed by investigators looking for Oakley, she told them that Oakley had started the house fire with the mother’s torch and was subsequently beaten for it. She also told them that Oakley was "under her mother’s bed and in the woods."

That's one of the details mentioned in a Washington Court of Appeals opinion published this month involving the release of Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) records regarding Oakley and her siblings to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office. Jordan had tried to block the release of dependency and juvenile court records to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office, who requested them in an effort to find information to locate Oakley. The juvenile court specified that it was releasing the records on the "emergent basis" of locating OC, who remained "missing…and [was] extremely endangered."

*************
In the court ruling, her sister confirmed another sibling's statements regarding the mother’s physical abuse of Oakley and that Oakley was not safe in her mother's care.

*********
When questioned by a police officer, her parents reported that they had "lost track" of Oakley between 5 and 10 days prior, in late Nov. 2021. Carlson then filed a formal missing person report in early Dec. 2021. That was 10 months after anyone else reported seeing the girl.

***********
The appeals court upheld the decision to release the records to the sheriff's office for the purpose of aiding in the investigation of Oakley’s disappearance. However, they ruled the court erred in releasing the records involving Oakley's sibling (DC). There was an open case for abandonment with that sibling, but that's not why the sheriff's office said they were asking for them, so they should not have been released. Same with the other sibling (BB-P).

"Because DC’s investigation was not the basis for her record release, DC was not ‘the juvenile in question.’ Therefore, the juvenile court erred when it released DC’s records."

Same with the other sibling (BB-P).

We affirm the juvenile court’s order permitting disclosure of OC’s, DC’s, and BB-P’s juvenile court dependency records to the sheriff’s office for the purpose of aiding in the No. 56609-5-II 24 investigation of OC’s disappearance. We reverse the language in the order purporting to unseal BB-P’s, DC’s, and OC’s juvenile court records, and we remand for the trial court to remove the unsealing language from its order. We also conclude that any transcripts of dependency hearings that were not closed to the public are not sealed absent a sealing order from the juvenile court. Finally, we decline to adopt additional procedures for disclosing confidential juvenile court records.

The sister told investigators that after Oakley started a fire in the family’s Oakville home, she was beaten and put “under her mother’s bed and in the woods.”

“Jordan had let us know that there was a fire so I had gone out to check on them and offer support and drop off supplies from the school right after the fire,” Swift told News Nation.
“I saw all the other kids running around and playing and I didn’t see Oakley and I thought it was a little odd. I asked where she was and they told me that she was in her room in time out.”
Two weeks later, Swift returned to the home and again, didn’t see Oakley. Later, Oakley’s sister went to Swift’s home for a playdate with Swift’s daughter, and that’s when Swift learned that Oakley had not been seen in a while.

In the documents reviewed by PEOPLE, investigators allege that since 2013, the DCYF has received “11 intakes regarding the family, eight of which have been screened in for allegations of domestic violence, physical abuse, parental drug use, and medical neglect.”

The mother opposed the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office motions, arguing that the sheriff’s office did not have standing to access the juvenile court records and questioned how it would help in finding Oakley, the documents state. Ultimately, an appeals court ruled the sheriff’s office did nothing wrong in requesting the documents.

Despite no sign of missing 6-year-old Oakley Carlson, the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office is still working the case.

In an update on the investigation by Chief of Special Services Paul Logan, he says that over the past six weeks, Sheriff’s Deputies have conducted searches at multiple locations in reference to the case, with assistance from Grays Harbor County Emergency Management and search and rescue resources.

According to Logan, he said that the locations searched were identified as part of the ongoing investigation into the missing Oakville girl.

**************
The Sheriff’s Office has said that Oakley was reported missing in December 2021, with addition reports of her being seen alive on February 10th, 2021, and investigators would like to speak with anyone who has seen Oakley since January of 2021.

They would also like to speak with anyone who has had direct contact with her parents during that same time period.

**************
Logan assured residents that the case is still active and tips continue to be investigated.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office investigation division at sodetectives@co.grays-harbor.wa.us or 360-964-1729.

“In the simplest terms we were looking for anything that is not natural to the area. Discarded items, markers, unnatural depressions, or human remains,” said Chief of Special Services Paul Logan of the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office. ...

[...]

This morning, there’s less than a dozen humans on scene. But there’s other ways to carry out a search than manpower. Dogs can smell things that a human never could, and drones can get a bird’s eye view that affords a revealing perspective, catching anomalies humans might miss.

"Adding the components of the drones and area scanning software with (the search dogs) allows us to conduct a more thorough search of the area in real time. We are able to identify anomalies in the area in real time and direct human searchers and dogs to that exact location to evaluate any point of interest,” Logan said. “Every element we can add to this endeavor which reduces the guesswork helps us achieve our ultimate goal, which is locating Oakley Carlson."

[...]

The search is of an area that the dry weather has made more accessible. Teams of a dog and handler cleared their sectors on the ground, while the drone flew a grid. The drone handlers program the width of the search lanes, the height and other factors, to best suit the terrain.

As the drone is operating, it flags dozens of anomalies that its handlers, operating out of their King County Search and Rescue van, check out, and will pass on to the dog teams to check out. Things like anomalous colors, shapes or other things the software recognizes as being out of place get flagged. This leads to lots of false positives, but the drones are getting better, the team said.

“This case will never be over until we locate Oakley Carlson,” Logan said. “We continue to investigate this case daily, and will continue to do so.”

The girl’s parents, Jordan Bowers and Andrew Carlson, are considered to be suspects in her disappearance but they have not been charged.
So disgusted with those in power that ripped her from a loving home, and threw her back to those two degenerates. Then they pull the we investigated ourselves and surprise surprise they found that they did nothing wrong. I'm keeping my eye on this when voting,. I know who appointed who. Who endorses who,and will vote accordingly. MOO

Jamie Jo Hiles never had a chance to take Oakley Carlson to Disneyland.

But two years to the day after learning Carlson was missing, Hiles visited the California amusement park Wednesday to honor her former foster daughter. December 6 is also Oakley's birthday.

Hiles and her supporters celebrated with a cake at a Disneyland restaurant.
