That ex wife has her own personal grudge no doubt. Where else to take it? Facebook! I'm about as dumb as a box of hair and even I would know better.

Yep! Surreal. Then again maybe the ex wife is like 19 years old.

You are on fire! :floorlaugh:

Wrt the bolded part - I wonder if they've gone through the Second Mile's records and checked if there are any suicides or missing children among those boys who were involved with the charity.

Hopefully they have or will. I spent about an hour going through archived news to see if there were endangered runaways from up there.

Praying whoever this young man is and wherever he is he is safe.

He wouldn't necessarily have to be a suicide or even missing. Poor guy could be on the streets and has no idea. It's not uncommon for victims of child sexual assault to become alcoholics/addicts. If he's out there he may not even be aware.

The cover up of the cover up has begun--what a statement huh!!!

I've just caught up here-- it took me three hours of reading in this thread, with links! But I would like to respond, as a mother of boys in sports, that my children's schools didn't even utilize the shower facilities. They just didn't. And school PE classes were coed, and they didn't use them then either.

So, even though baseball was the sport-- I will state that my young men, who are now in their mid to late twenties, had NO occasion to even shower with their teammates. They brought their stinky selves home. :)

There ARE a lot of links Quiche....I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing lol. Here's a few more links to some of the local media around Penn State ya'll can bookmark if you want. I don't think they'd be classified MSM but they all do seem to be staying accurately on top of the situation.:

As to children 'showering' with adults. I just remember as a young child & adolescent being embarrassed to be seen even by my friends nude much less by an adult. I would imagine most children/teens feel that way. They are such a vulnerable group as it is but them being nude in front of a predatory adult makes them twice as vulnerable.

It makes me sick thinking about how many children have been sexually abused by adults. I hope if nothing else good comes from this scandal that it at least will bring public thinking/opinions/action about this RAMPANT problem to a new level. Maybe the laws will get tweaked and tightened up and the sentences even longer for these predators. Sigh.

We need a "one strike you're out" law when it comes to sexual, or any abuse, against children!!!

Documents filed in Centre County, Pa., show that on July 21, Paterno’s house near campus was turned over to “Suzanne P. Paterno, trustee” for a dollar plus “love and affection.”

Wick Sollers, a lawyer for Paterno, said in an e-mail that the Paternos had been engaged in a “multiyear estate planning program,” and the transfer “was simply one element of that plan.” He said it had nothing to do with the scandal.

Yeah right it had nothing to do with a pending scandal breaking... GMAB!

I noted on the story on Mr. Amendola that with 17 year old woman he had the child with was an emancipated minor at 16. I think that would permit her to give consent so there was no problem there.

Problem is HE was the lawyer who handled her emancipation. Would think there is something UNethical about the amount of control he had over her as a client and someone MUCH younger that he would emancipate her and impregnate her. Even if the age of consent IS 16 in PA, I can't imagine anyone thinking a 16 year old consenting to someone old enough to be her FATHER who is ALSO in a position of POWER over her is not kosher. It shows Amendola is a creep, IMO, but then again maybe that's why drew him to his client. On Beck's show they were mocking that the attorney had "personal experience" in inappropriate relationships with minors.

Two sides:

For: My house will be signed over in 3 years so possibly innocent.
Against: I'm planning in my mid 30's

Technically and legally no problem but still.....a 16-17 y/o attracted to a 48-49 y/o man. Ick. IMO....it was a case of infatuation possibly and he took advantage of it.

She's 32 now, so I'm guessing he was in his 20's.

I'm not really defending him, but there is a difference between a young wife and a child molester.

Possibly, but she had to go to court. It isn't a matter of just filling out the paperwork.

I've raised two girls that went through that 16/17/18 year old stage. They've both been great kids but....they are still very naive at that age. THEY may think they are adults and wise beyond their years but.....all us older folks know better than that.

Meh....it is the Federal Department of Education.

Yeah but this is the guy that wants to go in and help them, he is the power.

Pretty slick move for someone whose brain's not clicking on all cylinders. :rocker:

See the above video from 5 years ago. Joe Pa's brain is "checking out" (nurse lingo).
