Donations for LE overtime doesn't seem crazy to me. Less and less funds are being given to LE around the country. Sometimes even regular salaries are being cut let alone extra personnel or overtime. I know in a perfect world everyone in LE would work extra hours for free, but I literally know some who have extra side jobs right now because they make so little plus they also have families so working hours upon hours for free is not always something that will happen. I always remember this when I or others are complaining about how bad LE is-some of the issues come from significant cutbacks in pay and funding leading to less LE out there, no money for overtime, etc. It is a sad reality right now.

I won't comment on the other financial debates going on right now.

Remember that the shunick family are people to they may not always follow "proper" protocol of how to act when your loved one is missing but this is no reason to bash them!!! They have done an amazing job getting the word out of mickey disappearance so much so that others gets upset that she is talked about so much but yet it seems they have some people who go missing and no one knows about their story or how to help if every family of a missing child would put as much effort as mickeys family has I think more people would be found an more people would be aware of how dangerous the world out there really is! If I went missing I know I would want her family to start the search for me because even though they may not say the "right" things they are still getting the job done if it wasn't for them half of us wouldn't be here talking about her right now!

I know of one detective that is working on this case who did not get paid overtime even though he worked it because LE did not have the money to pay it .... Also I know a lot of cops in the small towns surround Lafayette end up quitting and usually go work offshore

Am I the only one whose mind is blown thinking about the possibility that 100K plus was raised? Is that likely or normal in missing persons' cases??

Same here (for the second part). It is sad when cops literally quit their job because they cannot even make a living wage. God bless the first man!

I really think some of you should give CS a break! We can not imagine the stress and pressure she is under. Her statement may not have been worded perfectly. Maybe the persons paying for Abdella wanted her to make that statement, maybe she was advised to say that for legal reasons. It is not important in the large picture.

Remember why you are here on WS.
It is about finding Mickey

Worried enough that I personally went to dark places that I really probably shouldn't have looking and canvassing at all hours. Worried enough that I went out in the heat, in the woods, in the fields, and gave money. Worried enough that I walked and drove and walked and drove again, her route and every alternate route that I though she could have taken! because I knew that no one was gonna find her on the Internet!!! And no one was gonna find her starring at the same pick up truck photo, and the amount of t shirts you pushed wasn't gonna find her, and the number of blogs that the social media team did in a day wasn't going to find her, and Nancy Grace, and huffingtin and Jane, were not going to find her. And a big concert in the park wasnt going to make her magically appear. So, yes I actually went out and looked for her and I'm going to say me and 1000 other people who were complete strangers to her actually looked for her in the streets and in the coulees etc.

Thanks so much.

I think your comments may have been mis-understood, that's why I asked for links. I did find them.

From what I see, there has been a tremendous effort towards finding Mickey.

What I also see is a strong political aspect to this.

The comments say a lot.

I'm sorry I really try to respect everyone's views on here, but I really think it's inappropriate at this time to be questioning where money is going. Mickey their daughter has been missing a month that is the concern right now and should be for everyone. Do you even think the Shunicks themselves are handling the money? I don't Please everyone get back on track here.

In most of the cases I have been following, it doesn't seem to matter if a million dollars is raised...none of the people have been found...

Great show tonight I hear with Tricia, Kimster, ACI and information from Mr. Cox regarding Stephan Powell.

We will discuss the Mickey Shunick case out of LA. P.I. Jordan Hamlett will join us.

Also we will discuss the latest in the Susan Powell case. Her twisted father in law was just convicted of voyeurism.

I agree but it's still important. What if that reward money is what makes someone come forward. If someone knows something chances are the money will be more important than keeping a horrible secret.

I was just thinking this (even if I have no concept of money or how much would be raised). It seems like no matter how many PIs or task forces or fundraising events some people are just never found and it kills me.

Hopefully it is different for Mickey.

Regarding donations I am going to ask everyone to stop move past those posts.

This is about finding Mickey.

So where do you suggest people look and the pic of the truck again? Since that seems to be the only thing allowed in this case. Get a shirt, put out a flyer, stare at the picture of the truck until your eyes are crossed. Then start over. I don't mean to sound ugly but so far that hasn't work. I you really want to sleuth this case you guys need to start thinking outside of the "MS Social Media allowed box". And stop letting the social media team dictate the conversation. They as a team have spent every moment on the computer controlling the conversation since the very beginning. And, Mickey is still missing or is she? maybe people need to get a little creative and think of other scenarios. Could she be a runaway? Why not a runaway? that at least would be more interesting than the truck thing over and over and over.

I know everyone is tired of the white truck, but for the sake of conversation and keeping the thread going I went onto Craiglist where people who need to get trucks gone in a hurry go to. Its interesting i found one poster who posted the same truck like 5 times, while not showing the drivers side or gas cap.

anyway, lol dont hate me for posting these

Interesting idea. I think a smart perp would go to another state to try to sell on Craigslist. Of course that is a lot of ads to check.

Have you read the two previous posts?

If not, read them now.

By posting on this thread,

you are stating you know the rules!

Friendly bump with the best of intentions :)

Stare at pics of tucks or discuss the possibility that she is a runaway? Why not a runaway?
