    A Stolen Life - Jaycee's New Book

One thing that's cool is that Jaycee is donating a portion of the proceeds to The JAYC Foundation, which is what she started to help people recover from traumatic experiences. Here's the link to her foundation: www.thejaycfoundation.org You can also "like" it on Facebook...

    A Stolen Life - Jaycee's New Book

I bought a copy yesterday, and I finished it already. It's an inspirational book by an amazing person. Even after all she's been through, she seems remarkably kindhearted and caring.

2011.07.10 - ABC Jaycee Dugard Special 9PM Eastern.

This is such a refreshing, heartening story to watch after dealing with the news surrounding a certain "mother" from FL (whose name doesn't belong anywhere near Jaycee's) all week. THIS is how a loving, caring mother acts. Jaycee is such an amazing person.

Legal Questions for our Verified Lawyers #4

I apologize if this has been asked before, but if the jury had a question about a witness' testimony during deliberations and wanted it read back to them for clarity, would the judge have allowed this?

Did the jury get it wrong, or...

It kills me to read that because if she'd actually taken the time to listen to and/or look through the testimony and evidence, she would have seen that Sandra Osborne testified that Yuri Melich asked her (in August of 2008, mind you) to check if chloroform was searched for on the Anthonys'...

Who will make the most money? Includes various book discussion

I'm torn on this. On one hand, this is America, so I could see ICA becoming a millionaire. I'm absolutely disgusted by this, but it could happen. On the other hand, Casey will be a social pariah, and any company that publishes her book or pays her for interviews will be met with a lot of...

    ZFG Civil Case: Casey's Deposition

I think it would probably be wise for Morgan to do that. I can see Casey's attorney appealing right before her deposition so that she wouldn't have to answer any interesting questions. If that were the case, could he take part of her deposition then and reschedule the rest for later?

    ZFG Civil Case: Casey's Deposition

I'm kind of skeptical that she'll show up for this because I think that her attorneys will find a way for her to weasel her way out of it. But if she refuses to show up for a valid reason, would she be held in contempt?

Did the jury get it wrong, or...

Yes, she probably would be, but so would truly innocent people. Our system is not flawless or infallible (as this verdict pretty much demonstrated, IMO), but it's probably the best in the world.

Don't you think that being underwater and otherwise exposed to the elements for six months could and probably would wash all of that away? The duct tape was in pretty rough shape when the remains were found.

Did the jury get it wrong, or...

I believe in our justice system, and I'd like to believe that we get things right more often than we get things wrong; however, juries are not infallible. Juries don't always interpret the evidence and/or the law correctly; innocent people are convicted (and even sentenced to death), and guilty...

2011.07.03 TRIAL Day Thirty-four - DEFENSE (JB) CLOSING ARGUMENTS

Wow. I am not impressed with Baez's closing statement so far. The state wasn't even trying to argue that Caylee was beaten or anything like that before she was killed, so what's the point?

Poll: How did JA do in closing arguments?

He totally knocked it out of the park. I am so proud of him for sticking up for Caylee and for giving a voice to the voiceless.

    The Jury

I'm glad this thread exists because I'm very curious about how members of the jury are reacting, and it's kind of difficult to find information online when there are thousands upon thousands of articles and Tweets about the case.
