I contacted "Lyle's" father with my idea, and he agrees with my suggestion that if people would like to write something to the family, they could be sent to me. He said "It relieves the pain in our hearts to know that so many wonderful people were involved". I will act as moderator and conduit...
I just had a thought, and I want to run it by the group. I know how much time and effort so many of you put into this case. You feel a personal connection to him, and more than a few of you have remarked that he is like a brother. Would any of you want to write a letter to Lyle's family? I...
I have warned Lyle's family, that the pictures are on the internet, just incase they look into the efforts that were put into identifying him. While I was the one that took the photos, it made me sick to my stomach to learn that the photos had to be released and they were made public. This was...
I want to thank everyone in the WS community for all of your dedication and hard work to help give Lyle his name and help give his family some closure. You did so much of the leg work and eliminated hundreds of potential matches. I knew from day one that Lyle just wanted to disappear, but I...
Lyle's family had a set of his fingerprints that were taken in grade school, as part of a children's identification program. The Sheriff's Department compared those prints with the post mortem prints I took in 2001, and made a positive identification.
I've suspected for a long time that Lyle's story will be somewhat similar to Richard's. There has got to be a reason that no one has reported him missing, and it might be that he was estranged from his family (or they may have died), and perhaps he was frequently away for long periods of time...
Det. Sgt. Shumate and I discussed the possibility of facial recognition software, to compare the photos. It may not be exact, but would let us know if we are on the right track. One of the Deputies is into genealogy, and will be looking into Richard's past. The RCMP (or some agency) needs to...
I have excluded Harold Galvis through fingerprints. Det. Sgt. Shumate and I discussed Richard Meirle, and he is looking into it. The ears don't appear to match, but it deserves a closer look.
This deserves a closer look, and I'll be meeting with Det. Sgt. Shumate on Tuesday. Many of the features look good, but I can't tell about the ears. The gentleman with the beer bottle has the type of earlobes that Lyle had.
I belive he was looked at earlier, but I'll pass it along to the Sheriff's Office. The nose looks different, Bradley has smaller eyebrows, and doesn't have the mole on his chin.
