Just wanted to point out that some of the yearbooks linked earlier in this thread are from University of Iowa, but the Washington Post article states Joyce attended Iowa State University--not the same school! Perhaps we can look for ISU yearbooks instead.

The NAMUS description does say the body was found in the shrubs in the center median of the street, so I suppose if they're overgrown you could miss seeing a body. When I look at the Google maps street view of the 12800 block of Alondra Blvd. the shrubs are very tidy and low to the ground...

I wish they'd say where they found her car in Chevy Chase. I'm wondering if it was at the Friendship Heights Metro stop there and that's why they think she's using Metro. FYI, her house is on the farther edge of Silver Spring....I would guess a good hour's drive to Chevy Chase.

In looking at what people are thinking is a sweatband/hairband, I believe it's actually a wrist wallet since there's a zipper on it. These are designed for you to keep your ID, keys, etc. on you if you're wearing workout clothes without pockets. Interesting that the pocket is presumably empty...
