"The indictment alleges Elisa Baker conspired and distributed oxycodone, hydrocodone and alprazolam from at least 2006 to October 2010, when she was arrested in connection with Zahra's death. Oxycodone and hydrocodone are prescription painkillers and alprazolam, commonly know as Xanax, is used...

    2011.04.12 Adam Baker Arrested

Please don't Google ankle bracelets cut off in North Carolina - it will just discourage you in the AB case. We've had a rash of these happening. And with AB and his Ma who knows what they might do? :banghead: Letting him out frustrates me but if they can only hold him 48 hours guess the...

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- The father of 10-year-old Zahra Baker is no longer being held at the Catawba County Jail but it’s unclear exactly where Adam Baker is now. Authorities said Baker was picked up recently by immigration officials, but U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said he is...

The father of slain 10-year-old Zahra Baker made his first court appearance Wednesday on felony charges of identity theft and obtaining property by false pretenses. He faces up to 30 months in prison if found guilty. Immigration officials have also placed a detainer on Baker, meaning even if...

    2011.04.12 Adam Baker Arrested

In NC Identity Theft is a Class G or F felony. (difference between the two is if it is one or more persons). Obtaining property by false pretenses is a Class H felony. G & F carry more time (about 16 months for a level 1 offender) and H carries 6 months for the same level. Yes, it's not a...

Was Zahra Really Homeschooled? If so, WHY?!

I not only live in NC but I live in Caldwell County. My daughter withdrew her children from public school and homeschooled them for two years. The process was very complicated. She first had to get paperwork from the public school regarding the childrens current education levels in certain...

Why is Adam Baker not in jail?

I very rarely post here but these are my thoughts on this. I believe AB knew about the abuse and I believe he was abused by EB too. Remember the ex-husband (well, maybe husband) who said she used to beat him with a ball bat, abuse him etc and he took his suitcase and ran away one day when she...

    Who will get Zahra's remains?

You stated that very well and said some of what I feel. Some mothers don't come back from post-natel depression easily. And some mothers don't come back for a long time (if ever). During this time the child must be cared for, loved and protected. And while that child is having his/her needs met...

Why is Adam Baker not in jail?

I can not say for absolutely sure but most of the time in NC an ankle bracelet is used for those who have been charged, found guilty and sentenced to probation. Sometimes it is used for house arrest but I doubt that would have happened only on minor charges.
