I guess I had a different take on this -- Imagine you are an innocent man with a couple of shady incidents (stalking) in your past which has caused the media to decide that you must have done it. They are hounding you relentlessly asking you to prove that you did it and if you did not do it, who...
Not really. Polygraphs are inadmissible in Court.
Maybe Cheney watched the episode of Penn & Teller's BS about lie detector tests and how unreliable and flawed they are.
With that knowledge, I probably wouldn't take one either.
However I think that his actions that you listed speak volumes...
The media coverage is so misleading -- the headlines scream one thing and buried within the article is the factual nugget which tends to disprove the insinuation of the headline; case in point:
Farmer questioned about missing college student thinks ‘some guy has her’
While the media is...
I appreciate your comment.
- The hate crime enhancement places the burden on the State to prove that the reason Woodward murdered Bernstein is because he is gay.
- To attempt to do this, the State will likely introduce social media comments allegedly posted by Woodward to prove this...
I would be interested to learn what you believe justifies it being prosecuted as a hate crime. (Then again, aren't ALL murderers crimes of hate? If you murder someone, even if they were your best friend, clearly you hated him in the moments you took his life...)
Unfortunately, by prosecuting...
If such an incident occurred it is highly likely that LE would have found DNA or fingerprints that are "foreign" (as in not expected to be found) to the location.
Terrible "journalism" 101 when an article contradicts itself because you need to do a story but literally have nothing. Keep in mind, they couldn't even get a background/ off the record hint from LE. Proceed with caution.
Possibly.
To be clear: I've not suggested anything about JW's finances because DCPD have never commented (on or off the record) on it.
However, if one had stolen money and knew that LE was keeping a close eye on them, they wouldn't necessarily stash it in a place they thought LE might...
Just a thought:
If she did in fact return to the house and was using the computer and there was an "incident", there's a good chance that LE did not find any "foreign" fingerprints or DNA, but only fingerprints and DNA that they expected to be there and that person sanitized the scene leaving...
He was never arrested, never "caught."
I've never claimed he's involved, however absolutely nothing has been released or leaked regarding JW's finances (or lack thereof)...
I read earlier today somewhere else a stat from the NY Times that's applicable here: only 11% of murders are committed by strangers to strangers (and Cheney & Mollie were strangers as in we know of instance that the two met or had a conversation).
With that in mind, I agree with your comments.
Given what we know about the sexual nature of the history between the victim and his killer, from the victim's own words in the summer of 2017 where shared that after they hooked up the he outed his killer to many people, the hate crime charge seems extremely misguided.
