I don’t think anyone should be bringing LCS under suspicion. Some of these comments are pretty close to victim blaming.

There’s any number of reasons a person might be passive with certain people. If it’s a friend of the family, if the facts may be embarrassing, etc., a person may try to keep negative publicity from getting out.
