It's a longshot I am sure, but maybe taking Caylee home was an alibi. She gets a call/text in the night from some other person she is "seeing"...takes Caylee home. That way if RM wakes up she has a reason to be gone and come back....

IMO KC probably DID tell CA a long time ago that "she" had a key - to explain anything out of place if KC was going back to the house after everyone was at work. There have been many people who have pointed out how everything in that house has it's place. Maybe she forgot a glass in the sink...
