The actual refund isn't the problem here, it's the fact that Walmart has NO record of such RETURN. She didn't return it, regardless of whatever their policies are.
I doubt it. I think it's WAY more likely that her ice cold heart DID want to save money on gas at that point, so she wouldn't have to pay CA prices when she got home.
