Last night, I finished reading True Identity. I had pre-ordered the Kindle version, and the Kindle version wasn't delayed as the print copies apparently were. The book is very detailed and I will need to re-read portions of it. It's the kind of book that requires the reader to make a list of the...

Perhaps this idea has been posted in this thread... During the past few years, long-submerged vehicles have been discovered in lakes and rivers. Some of these vehicles have contained bodies of individuals who were involved in decades-old missing persons cases--and some were teens. This would not...

Mentioning this, but LE is no doubt following this--and it may have been discussed previously--given what is known about the pattern that Rasmussen followed when he had Dawn/Lisa with him, is it possible that he followed a similar pattern while he had the middle child with him (RV parks, etc.)...

The most recent US population census released to the public is the 1940 census. Here is a link to the "72 Year Rule" from the National Archives:The "72-Year Rule" - History - U.S. Census Bureau Perhaps there are city directories available for that time period.

I'm not an MD, but the info that I found online, including from the Mayo Clinic, states that if treated with antibiotics, scarlet fever is not the serious disease that it once was. It is still a problem in developing countries, as is rheumatic fever. I was very ill, as a child, with scarlet...

If untreated, scarlet fever can progress to rheumatic fever.

It's surprising how many children aren't enrolled in school. Marie may have been one of them. Schools usually require a birth certificate and records from the previous school. A family that is trying to stay under the radar may not have wanted to take the risk. I wonder if LE has checked Head...

From the article linked above: "Stiers believes her half-sister’s mother was Asian; she has a memory of her father showing her a map of Southeast Asia." I don't have the timeline in front of me, but since Rasmussen was in the Navy at some point, I wonder if he was ever stationed in the...

Aside from LE, perhaps state dental societies may be able to provide information about best practices regarding the disposition of records when a dentist retires.

If anyone else was unable to view the 48 Hours show about Jodi, 48 Hours also has a podcast. They just posted the audio of the episode on the podcast. I am listening to it now.

48 Hours was not on where I live. Instead, we had hours and hours of basketball. Very disappointing. I was really looking forward to seeing this show.

I have seen similar issues before in obituaries, including mentioning as a survivor someone who was already dead. People are under stress at the time of a death, and they are pooling together whatever they can recall.
