''He said the woman's body was discovered on Tuesday morning on the shoreline of a body of water, roughly 100 metres from where she was last seen. Shortly after, the body of the boy was found nearby.

"The terrain is very rugged and the embankment of the body of water is up to 80 feet high," said Tremblay, adding that the steepness of the cliff made search efforts challenging.

Deaths not suspicious

He said ground search and rescue teams were assisted by a police dog team, helicopter and the Canadian Coast Guard.

"We've had rain storms over the weekend, so the level of water and the snow melt and ice, those are all factors for searchers, it makes it harder to search," he said.

Police said the deaths are not believed to be suspicious, but the investigation is ongoing''

So the deaths were natural?

Moo....there has been very ugly weather out there, so it could have been an accidental slip or ?
That’s tragic, both her and the child…and odd that they were seen at 2 am. An overnight camping trip, I guess.

Moo....I don't think so. It is not camping weather out there. Maybe they left a residence for some reason, and were going home? Or maybe there was no home to go to?

but it would be murder of Lucas before her own suicide IMO so both ruled out

maybe he slipped into water and she went after him to try to rescue him
That’s a good point. That would explain a lot. There have been a few stories I’ve seen about people who drown trying to save their dogs who fall into water. Absolutely possible with a child as well.

yes I've seen several cases of people who tried to save their child or spouse as well
