Tips to Nashville police about the missing Riley Strain case are reportedly going to the Cold Case Unit voicemail.

Sabrina Martin told NewsNation’s Ashleigh Banfield on Tuesday night that she believes she saw a homeless man wearing Strain’s shirt after he went missing, but she says she hasn’t been able to contact the correct authorities.

“I have not heard from the police,” Martin said on “Banfield.” “I have called. I have emailed local news stations. … I found the Crime Stoppers line. That lady did seem to take me seriously, but I have not heard anything back. She did not seem to be aware of Riley’s case.”

if he went into the river, how do you explain his bank card being found? Why was it outside his wallet? where is anything else that was in the wallet? Missing Student Riley Strain's Bank Card Found Near River in Nashville as Search Continues

sorry if this was already discussed....doesn't the card suggest foul play or at least some one going through his things?
I drop my bank cards and ID regularly. Usually I notice. But not all the time. Once I got a letter from Disneyland. Like an idiot, I was excited. It was my driver’s license. I guess I had lost it there (and never noticed).

I think his card was loose in his pocket, as he had been using it, likely at multiple bars. When I’m in that situation, I do the same thing. The downside is that it’s easy to lose if you put it in the same pocket as your phone. His wallet is going to still be in his pocket.

This tells me that not only is this not foul play, as it hurts a case for motive (robbery), but it narrows down the area in which he fell in.

The family brought in the United Cajun Navy to assist. The leader also said the debit card isn’t indicative of criminal activity like people are alleging on social media, and he seriously doubts there’s a criminal element here.

They’re bringing in more resources to search the water, as that’s where they believe he is.

I was thinking he probably stuck it in his pocket when he was asked to leave the bar. He may have had it out trying to order another drink right at the end. Or he may have had to pay his tab from the earlier drink before he left, so it probably would've been in his pocket after the bar, or even still in his hand.

Then stumbling along on the bank, he may have reached in his pocket for his phone or something else, and the card fell out then w/out him noticing. Or maybe he still had it in his hand all that time since the bar and eventually dropped it there by accident. If he knew he dropped it, it might've been too dark (or him too drunk) to find it and pick it up.

Putting it back where it belonged in his wallet may not have been priority for him at the moment he was being escorted to the door of a bar he'd just been told he had to leave. Or who knows, he may not have kept in his wallet at all, maybe he always carried it in his pocket, or at least while bar-hopping.

Also, what was that someone else said about him not having his room key with him? If true, how is it known he didn't actually make it back to his hotel but then left again when he realized he was locked out?

As for your last point, we know he didn’t make it back to the hotel based on the timeline provided by the videos, and his cell phone activity, which suddenly ceased forever near the river.

He was never spotted on camera after that point, and I imagine the hotel cameras would have been checked as well.

Riley's footsteps fall silent after speaking to the officer. I think he veered to the right to walk in the grass. When the officer turns around, Riley isn't in sight.

In the Brain Entin interview posted earlier, the family spokesman said Riley texted his last message to his new GF after she texted asking how he was doing and if he was having a good time. Riley texted her: Good lops.

UrbanDictionary tells me that lop means "A big brain way of saying lol"
OK, had he ever texted "Lops" before?

I noticed something else. When entering "Tempo" in Google Maps, his hotel, Tempo by Hilton, shows up at the top of the search term list. YourTempo, the music software company, appears last. Could RS, in his state of mind, selected the last item thinking it was the first?

FWIW, Tempo by Hilton had been open less than a month. The street views (and satellite view) of it all show it under construction. Could this have affected the search results on that day? (i.e. a search ranking issue)

Second Tempo by Hilton hotel opens in Nashville

The property is part of Hilton’s expansion in the burgeoning lifestyle space.

Dive Brief:

or because it said 'YourTempo' he thought it was referring to HisTempo

I was just thinking.
IF he mistook the Tempo place (forgot the second word of that place), for the Tempo hotel, while looking on his phone for directions, why would he go down to the homeless camp under the bridge and not stay on the sidewalk?

Or did he realize at some point that it was the wrong Tempo, and he panicked, realizing he was way out of his way and lost. Went down to the camp to pee or rest?
Wonder if he still believed his was on his way to the hotel during the interaction with the cop, though it was only shortly afterwards he was at the bridge. It could also explain why he didn't ask the cop for directions.

eta...just saw the post above me. YourTempo

Ton of trash on that embankment. Helps to look at pictures available on social of the site. Credit to the two brave women who went through it - MOO, one would imagine concerns about used needles, organic material, prophylactics, even fentanyl residue … those were two awesome and committed searching ladies with strong stomachs. This wasn’t like a debit card on the grassy hillside of Central Park here. This was debris of homelessness and poverty and broken windows theory.
I notice that the one woman who was interviewed was wearing gloves- looked like rubber gloves so they were being careful and thorough

Double checking my info- when the homeless man states that he heard “commotion”, Riley had already passed the policeman correct?
Didn’t the man state that Riley yelled as well? I’m guessing the policeman did not hear that?
I keep wondering, wouldn’t at least one of the homeless persons been aware if Riley had fallen into the water? He was right there. That is bothering me.

OK, had he ever texted "Lops" before?

Good question. I surely don't know the answer. I do believe the text was typed and sent exactly as written. I think he might have been sarcastic by texting: Good lops. Because things were not good for him at the moment, imo. Why does anyone want to change his text from what it is and we know it's most likely meaning meant big time LOL? After all, he managed to type the word good without typos.

Now, we know his phone still had battery and he wasn't using it to comm with his Frat brothers in order to seek assistance. He also left his hotel key behind, according to early reports. I think it is likely that he knew he wasn't going back to the hotel when he left his room.

The bar scene on Broadway doesn't close until 3am. Did his buddies stay out until closing time?
But, his ph battery wasn't dead. Maybe Riley turned his phone off so he couldn't be tracked.
MOO as unpopular as it may be

Earlier Tuesday, Strain's relatives said they staunchly believe the missing college student is still alive - and they want the FBI to step in and take over the investigation from the Nashville cops.

His worried family who previously slammed cops for doing 'a B-minus job' held a press conference Tuesday.

'With everything that's gone in the past few days - we've been reached out to and we've spoken today with the United Cajun Navy,' Riley's stepdad Chris Whiteid said.

Did she take a pic of the guy? Most phones have cans now. Seems if she were wanting to report it she’d take a photo?

From what I've gathered from Tempo's website if he are whoever paid for the room was part of the Hilton Honors Member reward program (which is free to join) they allow you to digitally check in and use a digital key with no need to carry a key with you and also allow you to share it with 4 people. I also read that 80% of Hilton Hotel customers use the digital check in with the digital key.

After the presser yesterday, the MSM outlets are publishing misleading articles that make it seem as though the family has just now asked for the United Cajun Navy's help, but they've been a part of this for literally over a week, y'all. (Receipts below.)

As a someone local to this, I can't help but be frustrated at the media's attempts at creating spin and drama around this case. Everyone seems so quick to admonish LE in Nashville but the truth is, they are doing all they can. No amount of searching will be enough for a family who is desperate to find their child -- nor should it be! The more hands on deck, the better. But I'm not sure what more people expect.

I've also seen folks on social media and here asking about "where is the sonar" and "where are the drones". "Why did the search take 5 days to start?" And, friends!, the search along the water started as early as the 11th, less than 2 days after the report was made. And the gadgets have been out there since the beginning. You just aren't hearing about it.

I will say civilians finding a piece of evidence before LE is pretty embarrassing, but also, it happens all the time, and has happened in so many other cases. And besides that, shouldn't we just be happy someone is looking? Can't it be a community effort? I'm PRESSED about it. Anyway, this is all MOO.

I do think it's important to question LE mechanisms. We've seen in plenty of other cases how ego and procedure and bias can get in the way of closing a case. Criticism of our systems is good, but I also haven't seen any in this scenario that has been specific or based in truth. So for anyone who has criticisms of the MNPD in this case, I would love to discuss (civilly and curiously!) more about it.

I'd also be more than happy to provide a detailed timeline of the organized search efforts if that would be useful.

edit to add: I would love for TBI to get involved in this, just to have more boots on the ground. Nashville has all kinds of crap going on daily on top of this massive, pressing case, and again, the more help people are willing to give, the better, IMO

And, receipts as promised --
