I am not on Websleuths much lately but have just spent an hour or two trying to get caught up on the developments in Tara's case. Wow...
One thing that came to mind: There was once a little talk, I think even in these threads, that the man arrested in the murder of Bud and June Runion MIGHT...
Here is the article, I believe:

I have to keep a little hope that this article might spur something -- interest, a memory, a new look from LE -- that might lead to some resolution in Carlene's case.
I'm not a phone person, either. I think emailing him might work, too. If no one else wants to right now, I will try to do this when I get to feeling better.
scriptgirl, thank you.
As to your questions, I am not "for sure", but I am thinking that Carlene's dad has passed on but her siblings are living.
ETA: I found Carlene's mother's obituary and see that I was wrong about all Carlene's siblings still living -- her sister Arnelle is not...
Here is more info and some contact possibilities for long-time journalist Randall Savage, referenced in my post above -- in case anyone at some point wants to follow up:

dogperson, there was a reporter for The Macon Telegraph, Randall Savage, who intensively covered much of the Paul John Knowles story (1974). Not sure whether he was with that paper in 1972 when Carlene disappeared, but I just bet that he heard things about her case. As recently as this past...
I share your feelings. This is such sad news to me, just as this has always seemed such a sad case to me -- but I do find comfort to think of Carlene and her mother reunited. I pray for all remaining who loved Carlene, those who were touched by her disappearance and all the long years of wondering.
I think it's been pondered, certainly, but as I remember, if any real answer was found by authorities we haven't heard about it. There had been some bad weather recently...seems that may have been offered as a possibility, but nothing really firm, as I recall.
It's certainly an interesting area...
bbm: According to the info in an earlier post from True Crime Lover (which I'm quoting below), Lydia was the director 2008-2012. But certainly the bridge club may have been meeting there during that period (or part of it), too.
I know that, in this thread, Lydia is the victim, so I don't want to speculate too much. But I do agree that it sure sounds as if she made some poor choices in companions. Was the wool pulled over her eyes somehow? And maybe she got wise and got "out" and someone took revenge...or maybe someone...
bbm: Oklahoma, huh? Well, even though it was me that brought news of this death to the Dermonds thread, I do sort of doubt there is a connection...still, I have to wonder just a little.
Look back at this page in the Dermond case discussion -- about Sills speaking of a lead out of Oklahoma...
Hello all. It's been a long time...I have not posted on WS very much, or even had a chance to read here much, in a number of months.
Middle Georgia news in the last day or two has had items (two linked below) about the death of a woman in Eatonton that is being investigated by police and GBI --...
I posted the following in another thread a few weeks back and now realize it would have been better placed here (didn't realize at the time that this thread existed), so I'm reposting. Normally I wouldn't "cross post" like this, but hope it will be forgiven this time:
No matter how one...

No matter how one feels about the Lindbergh kidnapping case, I wanted to post that there is a new book (focusing on the early phases of the crime and investigation) just out that I personally feel will be a must-read for anyone interested in the case...
