I think he's in jail awaiting trial for the original CSAM charges. He either wasn't given bond or it was set so high he couldn't afford to bond out while he awaits trial. He hasn't been sentenced for any jail time because he hasn't had his trial or been convicted yet.

IMHO, a CI is hardly a hero role. I think a lot of perps only agree to be CIs to try to reduce charges and/or time off sentences. There's nothing to confirm he was on the run either...
