Thing is, if Nov 22, 1938(as on the headstone) is her birth date, she was still 14 when she vanished, yet she was in her junior year in high school(I have seen the yearbooks). I realize she was said to be very smart, so maybe she skipped a grade or two along the line, and may have started...

Interesting to see Evelyn's birthdate as Nov 22, 1938. It has always been listed on sites as Nov 21, 1937. I am inclined to believe the headstone. Nice she is on there. Thanks for the links, interesting to know about Thomas.Only Carolyn is left now.

One thing is though at that time there were no trees and less houses. There may have been nothing to obstruct his view. Still a bit far, hard to say though. Having been in this neighborhood several times, the houses are all very close together, so it seems not as far as the overhead view gives.

No, it was RT 14. The farm in question is near LaFarge, WI I believe. I personally do not think Ed Gein was involved. I believe it was someone Evelyn knew, and trusted enough to let him (them) in the house. After that is where things went wrong.

    Remembering Sheila and Katherine

40 years. With another dig underway right now, I hope we all (most importantly the Lyon family) get answers soon.

Wow just catching up on all these interesting theories. I do want to mention the front door of the house did face the front, it was the livingroom that faced the back. The style of house had a reverse layout of most homes. You entered through the front door and from old news footage looks like...

I agree very interesting details and they seem to fill in some blanks. Everyone has always gone on with Evelyn being so studious and "goody goody"..if she really did have her "wild side" and did go down and party in LaFarge and knew these older men..it just makes sense to me what happened was...

All I can say is wow. Interesting to see the girls pictures in color in some of the articles and a different picture of the girls as well. This seems big. Oh how I hope this is it.

60 years today. And no mention in the LaCrosse Tribune...I thought they would do a story with it being the 60th anniversary.

Anyone else have Beverly on their mind while hearing of the three missing women who have been found alive in Cleveland? I know too much time has passed for Beverly to have the same outcome. I just wish she could be found.Another Cleveland mystery many have forgotten except people like us.

The mud was on the living room carpet. I am remembering there may have been mud somewhere else, like near the front door(maybe I heard that on one of the You Tube videos). The book "Where's Evelyn " has pics of the mud(some say blood) on the living room carpet, near her glasses and one shoe.

Exactly. It was just that judge's opinion and there was no proof. As you said, Gein himself stated he was not in La Crosse, he was at his farm in Plainfield when Evelyn was abducted. Of course it is hard to believe anything he said, but I still do not feel Gein was involved. I believe I read...

I have never read any proof Gein was nearby that night. I just don't feel he did it. It also bugs me the siblings will not give DNA. But I can understand they have their reasons. Then again maybe they have by now and it never made the news. Not much has been written about Evelyn's case in many...

Today marks 59 years since Evelyn forever vanished into the night. It appears we do not seem to be any closer knowing what happened than we were that night.

I've often wondered about older siblings of her friends. I read somewhere Patsy had a teenaged (or early 20's) brother...I agree with many of you that I feel someone on her street took her, and she is still on the that street somewhere..I wish they could demand an excavation of every basement...
