Oh geesh, now he is trying to get a little emotional while he is retelling his story.

I lost track of how many times the defendant said "death penalty".

At least he knew what he was facing back when he decided to murder a police officer in cold blood, for no reason.

I'm just really at a loss for what his real motive was that night? Why did he need/want to shoplift a few groceries? He worked at Hewlett Packard, so it doesn't seem like he would be without funds to purchase a few groceries. So senseless.

I completely agree.

His defense will say that he was upset about breaking up with his girlfriend, and took some Xanax, got drunk, and turned into a "different" person.

Brandon Daniel on in-car video: ‘I’m glad he is dead’

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Moments after Senior Officer Jaime Padron was killed, Brandon Daniel sat in the back of a police car and pondered if he would lose his own life.

“Can I get the lethal injection? Is it possible?” he attempted to ask an officer who did not reply.

“I’ll probably go away the rest of my life,” said Daniel in a low, slow voice as he swayed back and forth behind the glass divider in the patrol car.

The death penalty is an option in Daniel’s Capital Murder trial for the April 2012 shooting of Padron inside the Tech Ridge Wal-Mart.

Prosecutors cycling through evidence which appears to include post it notes Daniel made out to himself. One said "Stop *advertiser censored**ing Yourself Up."

Under re-direct from state, Fugitt says it is not unusual for someone involved in a shooting to forget how many times they pulled trigger
 
The bullet he shot into Padron's vest, did that enter his body? I can't remember.
