Thank you so much for your posts AJ, you've certainly done a lot research and it's a treat to read.
I just wanted to highlight where OP describes his usual gym session, he physically and psychologically exerts himself till he throws up.

This is why I don't put much credence in his puking in the kitchen witnessed by Carissa and during the trial when photo evidence of Reeva's injuries were shown. I think being emotionally distraught he could vomit at will with very little effort. I mention this because there have been supporters who see this as some kind of proof of his innocense. jmho

Thanks PSuspect !

I also don't read much into OP's regurgitation… I could be faked or it could be real… either way it is NOT evidence that he did not knowingly shoot at Reeva on purpose…

…Just that he was disgusted by the resulting blood, brain matter and realization of the dire consequences he was facing as a result of his impulsive violent action.

FYI… it's not Carissa but Carice Stander

We are going to have a forum software upgrade very soon. The forum will look very different. Follow the "forum" tab on the new site and you'll be able to find your way again. If there are delays in access to the forum, I will write about them on my Twitter.

We will be making forum decor changes after the upgrade, but it's going to look pretty strange before we have the time to make those changes happen. Excuse our dust ~ but most of all, enjoy the new digs!!!

You raise many valid points… and I agree with most of them.

I believe one should not read into the granting of bail as a form of favoritism…

Absolutely re bail - let's not forget the ease of SA citizens in getting bail is a legacy of apartheid.

Apologies if this subject has been previously analyzed and discussed.

Although Oscar strongly suggests that he wants to face Reeva in bed, his own version of events clearly demonstrate the opposite, Oscar’s apathy towards Reeva… When Oscar woke up and didn’t look at Reeva when she talked to him… Oscar didn’t look or talk to Reeva after he heard the window open… Oscar didn’t look at Reeva when he whispered to her to get down and call the police and he wasn't expecting her to respond anything.

Since Oscar was suffering from his shoulder injury for at least a month prior to the shooting, one would have expected that Oscar's stuff would have EITHER slowly migrated from the right-hand side of the bed to the left-hand side over the past month OR would have been purposefully moved until his injury had healed and he could go back to his usual side of the bed.

This was obviously NOT the case : Oscar's hair clipper, books, binders, extra bullet magazine clip, etc… were ALL found on the right-hand side of the bed !!… whilst the left-hand side was void of any clutter or personal items (as one would expect from the side of the visiting girlfriend)

I don't remember them covered so methodically, thankyou. Find your posts very engrossing.
Anyway I want to agree strongly with points about not looking at Reeva at any point after her "final words" when he's just woken up- I believe its pretty unlikely in a brand new relationship. (Not so much with a longstanding married couple)
But on your other point re migration of his personal belongings from r-l he did say in his testimony that as she did not stay over regularly he simply slept in the middle of the bed when alone- which is entirely plausible don't you think?

PS Just read your timelines - great !

Thanks weaver !

I don't recall OP saying that when alone he usually slept in the middle of the bed. People usually have a 'favorite' side.

But for sake of argument let us assume that he slept in the middle when alone… that means it wouldn't matter which side of the bed his stuff was because it would always be in reach.

But since he was struggling with a shoulder injury for at least a month, every time Reeva would sleep over, Oscar would sleep on the left-hand side whilst all of his stuff remained out of reach on the right-hand side.

Plus one would think that if the girlfriend was asked to accommodate him by sleeping on the right-hand side because of his shoulder injury, one would un-clutter that side a bit so as not to have her navigate her way through his mess.

I believe we can infer from the Whatsapp messages that Reeva was spending a few nights a week at Oscar's. In Sam Taylor's case, she said she spent about 4 nights a week at Oscar's.

Nel : Dr. Dixon, are you a forensic, ballistic, blood spatter or pathology expert ?

Dixon : No, I am not… but I very much enjoy playing all of these roles in televised Trials, M’Lady.

Nel : What expert skills did you use to prepare your expert testimony ?

Dixon : I read and re-interpreted partial information contained in reports written by real experts, M’Lady.

Nel : So you do not possess any relevant expertise of your own ?

Dixon : I am rather proficient at searching and reading Wikipedia entries, M’Lady.

Nel : You give long winded answers without answering the question, why is that ?

Dixon : My compensation is based on an hourly wage, M’Lady.

Nel : What expert skills and equipment did you use for the bedroom light test ?

Dixon : I used my eyes to see and a calendar to determine a moonless night, M’Lady.

Nel : What expert skills and equipment did you use to match fibers ?

Dixon : I used a microscope and photographs of the door and of the socks, M’Lady.

Nel : What expert skills and research did you use before recreating cricket bat sounds ?

Dixon : I went on the Internet and downloaded movie sound effects of wood breaking, M’Lady.

Nel : What were the qualifications of the individual who recorded the sounds ?

Dixon : I did not research the Music producer’s qualifications, M’Lady.

Nel : Then how did you determine the Music producer’s qualifications ?

Dixon : After chatting with him that night, I felt confident that he was sufficiently qualified, M’Lady.

Nel : What expert skills and equipment did you use during the cricket bat sound recording ?

Dixon : I used my arms to swing the bat but "I did not listen to myself hitting the door", M’Lady.

Nel : I’m looking at your reports dated April 5th 2014, one month after this Trial began ?

Dixon : "This is an ongoing case since last year until now, I have written reports with time that have been updated and modified as new information came to light… some of that information has subsequently changed because more information comes to light, you think further, it’s an ongoing process." (actual quote btw)

Nel : How did the information subsequently change and come to light ?

Dixon : Mr. Pistorius kept on changing and adding information to his version of events, M’Lady.

Dixon : "In the world I live in, this wound being caused by that bullet trajectory is not improbable, it is impossible !" (actual quote btw)

Nel : Are you suggesting that there had to be a second shooter behind the fence on top of the grassy knoll ?

Carice Stander says she heard “Help! Help! Help!” coming from 212 meters away… she says she was terribly frightened because someone could climb onto her balcony, she closed the balcony door, locked it and closed the blinds… she says she didn’t know what to do to assist the person who was screaming for help but her main concern was settling her dogs and how to fall back asleep.

How can she be terribly frightened for someone shouting for help from 212 meters away ?... very unlikely… it could be a car crash, an accident victim, a fire,… anything really… but although she was very comfortable sleeping with open balcony doors, she says she immediately assumed burglars or intruders were prowling the estate !

How can she possibly believe that someone was going to climb onto her balcony ?... that is pure fantasy induced by OP’s version of events !

How can she be terribly frightened for her own safety and at the same time trying to fall back asleep ?... because one of these conflicting statements is a fabrication !

How can she claim she didn’t know what to do ?... she is not 7 years old, she is a grown woman and an attorney… she can call police, estate security or even go to her parents bedroom !

Although she describes herself as a frightened little girl up to this point, as soon as her mother says that OP shot RS thinking she was an intruder, Carice instantly and inexplicably transforms into a confident, level-headed, full on take-charge woman on a mission... not even Reeva’s bloodied body phases her in the least… she is on top of everything that is going on in OP’s house… BUT more than a year later, she completely breaks down when recalling those events.

Carice : “I settled back in under the covers with the dogs… I was lying in bed thinking, oh my gosh how am I going to sleep now because that the voice I heard, I know for a… sounds to me it’s a man’s voice… I could hear a man shouting meaning that there must be terrible trouble because then where is the lady ?”

This passage is a clear sign that Carice is not telling the truth and desperately trying to assist the Defence.

She almost said : “I know for a fact it’s a man’s voice”… but stopped herself and said “sounds to me it’s a man’s voice”.

She says : “there must terrible trouble because then where is the lady ?”… why would anybody infer that a woman would necessarily be present or involved when a man screams for help ?... that is a clear and unmistakable indication that Carice is trying her best to help OP in his Defence and not assist the Court with the truth… very naughty and stupid girl, especially for an attorney !

Roll-up for the silent treatment

From a distance this seems to have some of the admirable qualities of the ‘rolled-up plea’: ‘I wasn’t there; if I was I didn’t do it; if I was there and did it, it was an accident; if I was there, did do it and it wasn’t an accident, I am mad’.

Oscar states he is an 'extreme sports junkie' who commits himself 100% in his endeavors… this is the only lifestyle he knew and thrived upon during the past 10 years : training, diet, competing.

If Oscar's professional athletic career was over it meant giving up the only thing he was passionate about and finding something else to commit himself 100% !

Since he wasn't particularly good at anything else (except perhaps shooting guns), one can imagine the psychological distress Oscar Pistorius must have been enduring since the London 2012 Olympics.

(My bold)

Since shooting is a competitive sport, and one where proficiency isn't dependent on age, that could actually have been a possible avenue for him to pursue.

Yes, competition shooting is not as age dependent as track… but it is still somewhat of a young man's game.

Someone like Dixon or Wolmarans would not be much competition lol

Plus, OP struck me as a gun enthusiast (a gun nut that enjoyed shooting at watermelons and pretending to be a S.W.A.T. team specialist) not a focused gun purist interested in the Zen aspects of precision shooting.

Genius!

Realise it's totally off topic thread but I'd been looking at some of the likely SA prisons - obviously they are horrific and there's a lot of talk of him having to pay protection money inside to stay safe.

Anyway came across this which is more shocking - if you haven't read it.

http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-cou...-s-killers-warns-oscar-1.1656398#.U6NjBc2viPU

And shocking in that some low life can even get to say this through the Press:

'The “General” of the feared 26s prison gang, Khalil Subjee, said should the Paralympic athlete be convicted and jailed for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, his wealth would not buy him a lavish prison lifestyle – instead he would “be taken out”.

Shocking…yes… Surprising…no

Khalil Subjee is doing some chest thumping for the journalists… he wants to affirm his authority in the prison system… show he's the alpha.

If all murderers were killed in prison by inmates, there would be no over-crowding in there.

Thanks FromGermany but when she wanted the rolling of the eyeballs it was to signal a bored response so unfortunately the fence sitting icon is not right.

But thankyou for the offering though.

In which case have I to use it?

It was my expression of "I'm just answering because I have nothing better to do".

Samantha Taylor (ST)

– ST said Oscar always left his 4949 business phone charging in the kitchen.
– ST said that when Oscar went to bed he took off his prosthetic and put them next to him.
– ST said that when Oscar went to bed he put his gun either on top of the bedside table or on top of his prosthetics.
– ST said Oscar always kept his 0020 personal phone with him at all times, even when in bed or when going to bathroom.
– ST said OP used his 0020 phone 4 to 5 times every night in bed before going to sleep.
– ST said Oscar charged his 0020 phone in his bedroom.
– ST said Oscar was very jumpy at night about noises in his house.
– ST said that on 2 to 3 occasions OP woke her up during the night and asked her if she had heard a noise.
– ST said that Oscar took his gun, got out of bed and investigated those noises.
– ST said Oscar got up in the morning at around 5AM.

Reeva Steenkamp (RS)

– RS wrote Oscar on 11 February : "Baby can I cook for you on Thursday? What can you eat this week?"

RS was planning to cook Oscar a Valentine's Day dinner and she needed to know what he could eat that week… a clear indication that Oscar was indeed in a period of training where he had a very specific weekly diet.

Professor Gert Saayman (PrGS)

– PrGS said that Reeva ate approximately 2 hours prior to her death.

According to all the evidence, Reeva died approximately around 3:15AM… so her last meal was around 1:15AM

For one to eat, 3 conditions must generally be met : i) One must be awake ii) One must be hungry iii) One must have access to food like in a kitchen

Estelle van der Merwe (EVDM)

– EVDM woke up and heard sounds of woman involved in an argument, a woman talking in a loud voice.
– EVDM looked over at the clock it was 1:56AM.
– EVDM went to the bedroom windows which looks out onto Farm Inn believing the sound originated from there.
– EVDM couldn’t see anything… she couldn’t determine from which direction that voice was coming from.
– EVDM said this argument wasn’t continuous; it started and stopped many times with varying intervals.
– EVDM couldn’t hear the other party involved in this argument.
– EVDM said she couldn’t make out the language or what the woman was saying.
– EVDM was sure it was a woman’s voice because of the pitch and “movements” in the voice.
– EVDM says this argument latest for about 1 hour and irritated her.
– EVDM went a second time to the bedroom windows but still couldn’t see anything.
– EVDM didn’t go to the bedroom balcony because she didn’t want to wake her husband.
– EVDM placed a pillow over her head in hopes of falling back asleep.

Around 3AM…

– EVDM heard 4 loud bangs around 3:00AM.
– EVDM’s husband woke up from those bangs and said to EVDM that those bangs were gunshots.
– EVDM didn’t hear the woman’s voice before the shooting.
– Mr. VDM went to the bedroom windows to see what was happening.
– Mr. VDM couldn’t see anything and got back into bed.
– EVDM said it was complete silence after the 4 gunshots.
– EVDM didn’t hear any other bangs, noises or any screams

Some time after...

– EVDM and her husband heard a commotion some time after.
– Mr. VDM called security to know what was happening.
– EVDM then heard someone crying out loudly.
– EVDM asked her husband who was crying and he responded that he thought it was Oscar.

21 February 2014 between 2AM and 3AM (sound tests)…

– EVDM woke up from 2 male voices talking loudly as if they were involved in a fight.
– EVDM went to the bedroom windows believing the sound originated from there…but couldn’t see anything.
– EVDM then went to the bedroom balcony where she saw that the lights were on inside Oscar’s house.
– EVDM saw 2 men outside arguing in front of Oscar’s house next to a white SUV.
– EVDM did not hear a male and a female in Oscar’s bedroom screaming as loud as they could.

EVDM could not hear the screaming tests on 21 February : those were conducted in Oscar's bedroom… confirming why she did not hear the screaming on 14 February : she cannot hear noises that originate from the back of Oscar's house (except the gunshots).

EDVM did hear the arguing tests on 21 February : those were done in front of Oscar's house… she went first to the bedroom windows that faces Farm Inn believing the sound originated from there… EXACTLY as she had done twice on 14 February and same as her husband had done once… again she saw nothing… she then went to the bedroom balcony doors that faces Oscar's house… there she saw exactly what she was hearing : 2 men arguing.

EDVM also heard what she thought was a woman crying on 14 February… This was heard "some time after" the gunshots and moments after the "commotion".

What was this commotion ? The ONLY thing that could be perceived as a commotion in that timeline was all the cars and individuals in front of Oscar's house : i) Arrival of Pieter Baba and Jacob Mohave in the security buggy ii) Arrival of Carice and Johan Stander in the mini-Cooper iii) Departure of Pieter Baba and Jacob Mohave in the security buggy iv) Arrival of Dr. Johan Stipp in his car.

What followed immediately after that commotion ? Oscar carried and laid Reeva's body at the bottom of the stairs where he cried and prayed loudly.

Where are these stairs located ? The stairs land in Oscar's kitchen which is situated at the front of Oscar's house… in fact, Oscar's kitchen projects forward from the main building, much further forward than the front door and the garage doors… the kitchen is at the very front of Oscar's house and is the closest to EDVM's house.

When coming down the stairs, you are facing the kitchen which is 2-3 meters in front of you, the dining-room is 2-3 meters immediately to your right, the front door of the house is 2-3 meters immediately to your left, the living-room is 2-3 meters behind the stairs.

Photo taken from the kitchen entrance looking at the stairs
Photo taken from the dining-room entrance looking at the bottom stairs, the front door and the kitchen
Photo taken from the dining-room entrance looking at the dining-room
Photo taken from the front door looking at the living-room and part of the stairs

Why could EVDM hear Oscar's crying loudly but she could not clearly make out the argument between 2AM and 3AM ? Oscar's front door was wide open when he was crying and praying at the bottom of the stairs, as stated by Dr. Stipp and Johan Stander.

This confirms and proves 2 things :

1. EDVM can in fact hear what is happening at Oscar's house as long as it is happening towards the front of his house.

2. EDVM can in fact identify where the sounds are coming from : the sounds that originate from the front of Oscar's house are heard in EDVM's bedroom as coming from Farm Inn.

------- THAT would indicate that the arguing EDVM heard between 2AM and 3AM was in fact coming from Oscar's house and that the persons arguing were NOT in the back of Oscar's house like the bedroom BUT towards the front of the house like the kitchen.

I think I agree with the conclusions that you draw. I'm interested to know what you think about these two things based on the above:

If she could hear things that happened in the front of the house and heard them less clearly when the door was closed, why did she only hear one side of an argument @ approximately 2 am if the argument happened at the front of the house; and

If she thought she heard a woman arguing at about 2 am and after the "commotion" heard a woman crying but her husband thought it was Oscar, is it possible/likely that the voice she heard at 2 am was Oscar?

I have been interested in the "one-sided" 2 am argument for a while. hmmm...
