That is gonna be one INTERRRRESTING Easter service at the church
I don't think there's gonna be Easter services there, it's probably an active crime scene again...

I wonder if C and L Lawless will be another George and Cindy A, or do the right thing (provided they aren't involved...)?

Nope, not IMO. L. Lawless, whom I still believe played an active part in this crime. is extremely reticent.
I don't think his wife to spout off like Cindy ever did, either.
One other important distinction- This special little child was NOT the Lawless's grandchild, so they cannot feel the same extremely strong emotional confilcts and angers, even if they are as innocent as angels. ( which I really do dout at this point).

Wow!!

Murder AND kidnapping? How long did she have Sandra before she was killed?:(

I have a feeling we are going to find out this is one weird chica. Look at what we know so far.

Well, that tells us she lured Sandra at the very least- either into the mobile home, her car, or walked her to the church...

Sandra Cantu disappeared from the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park on the afternoon of March 27th. At an early morning news conference, authorities said they believe Huckaby murdered Cantu before the young girl's mother reported her missing.

Court records obtained by the Tracy Press show a 28-year-old Melissa Huckaby pleaded no contest in January to a felony charge of second degree commercial burglary and a misdemeanor charge of property theft. The criminal complaint said she served time in Los Angeles County and that she tried to steal something from a Target store in November.
The complaint says she’s on probation in San Joaquin County and is due back in court for sentencing on April 17th.

I bet Sandra never left Melissa's house to go to the other friend.

Kidnapping as defined in California Penal Code 207:
207. (a) Every person who forcibly, or by any other means of
instilling fear, steals or takes, or holds, detains, or arrests any
person in this state, and carries the person into another country,
state, or county, or into another part of the same county, is guilty
of kidnapping.
(b) Every person, who for the purpose of committing any act
defined in Section 288, hires, persuades, entices, decoys, or seduces
by false promises, misrepresentations, or the like, any child under
the age of 14 years to go out of this country, state, or county, or
into another part of the same county, is guilty of kidnapping.
(c) Every person who forcibly, or by any other means of instilling
fear, takes or holds, detains, or arrests any person, with a design
to take the person out of this state, without having established a
claim, according to the laws of the United States, or of this state,
or who hires, persuades, entices, decoys, or seduces by false
promises, misrepresentations, or the like, any person to go out of
this state, or to be taken or removed therefrom, for the purpose and
with the intent to sell that person into slavery or involuntary
servitude, or otherwise to employ that person for his or her own use,
or to the use of another, without the free will and consent of that
persuaded person, is guilty of kidnapping.
(d) Every person who, being out of this state, abducts or takes by
force or fraud any person contrary to the law of the place where
that act is committed, and brings, sends, or conveys that person
within the limits of this state, and is afterwards found within the
limits thereof, is guilty of kidnapping.
(e) For purposes of those types of kidnapping requiring force, the
amount of force required to kidnap an unresisting infant or child is
the amount of physical force required to take and carry the child
away a substantial distance for an illegal purpose or with an illegal
intent.
(f) Subdivisions (a) to (d), inclusive, do not apply to any of the
following:
(1) To any person who steals, takes, entices away, detains,
conceals, or harbors any child under the age of 14 years, if that act
is taken to protect the child from danger of imminent harm.
(2) To any person acting under Section 834 or 837.

She may have acted alone!!! Sheneman said no more arrests are expected. See link in media thread.

I think what's interesting about them booking her on kidnapping and murder is that the kidnapping becomes an aggravating factor in California which is a prerequisite for the death penalty.

Seargent is on CNN right now being interviewed....Sandra was friends with Melissa's daughter....CONFIRMED the suitcase belonged to Melissa....Police have "had contact" with her prior to Sandra's disappearance...no history of violence.

In the arrest thread I just posted an article that said Sandra was probably dead by the time her mother reported her missing.

Melissa has a criminal history, even though she denied it to the media. Y'all probably found and figured this out much earlier today.

I bet the parents of the 7 year old is feeling very lucky.

I bet Sandra never left Melissa's house to go to the other friend.

IIRC, the video showed her coming from the direction of the other friend's house heading towards the Lawless house.

More on her criminal history:

http://tracypress.com/pages/full_st...get=push&instance=home_news_lead_story&open=&

When she talked to the Tracy Press Friday, she said she wasn’t the same Melissa Huckaby who pleaded no contest Jan. 9 to a felony charge of second-degree commercial burglary and a misdemeanor charge of petty theft after being arrested in November 2008 for trying to steal something from Target. She had been examined by doctors and was deemed mentally competent to stand trial. She was due back in court next week for sentencing.

The criminal complaint also shows she was locked up in Los Angeles County for conviction of property theft in 2006.

Melissa's family had to know of her history....who thought it would be a good idea for her to be a Sunday school teacher?

With no history of violence and a congregation of only about 35 or so, I don't know that anybody really thought about that.

I worry about what kind of access she had to other children though :(
