Is it possible he might have been in real panic mode by then and not even realized he left the trunk open? After all, he either just killed Hasanni & disposed of him, or else disposed of Hasanni's body after a fatal accident--or would a sociopath start feeling crazed at all after doing something unthinkable, horrible like this?
It's very hard for me to even try to put myself in that frame of mind ~ to be planning on setting in motion something to cover up an accident or crime. I don't think he was in a panic though. MOO

Oh I don't believe Hasanni was there either. I was just trying to figure out why anybody would open the trunk & leave the opened car unattended with an open trunk when he could've done it when he got back. It goes along with the same line of thinking though to leave Hasanni unattended by the door though. The only thing I can think of is he wanted to make it look like a perp was lured into the area and snatched Hasanni. :waitasec: And yes, I too would like to know how he could be sure the two kids left alone in the house wouldn't get into something or hurt themselves while he was out. The trip to the bank couldn't have been just 5 minutes. MOO

I wondered about that too panthera...how he would keep them from wandering around while he was at the bank. I couldn't come up with but two explanations. One, he locked them in their rooms:eek:. Two, he did nothing to prevent them from wandering except for possibly relying on a safety gate. Maybe he convinced himself that they wouldn't wander around in the house just like he was convinced that "Hasanni WOULD NOT wander off?" Maybe his Luke Skywalker 'absolute power' failed him that day?

Maybe there was no "trip to the bank"...I doubt everything this guy says now. Maybe it was a trip to the marshlands. :( But then again--why would he even have admitted to ever leaving them alone ?

Because misbehaving fourth graders know that if you admit freely to a lesser offence, it (supposedly) makes you look innocent of worse wrongdoings.

I suspect baby gates, plus crib or playpen for the baby, and likely nothing for Hasanni - except orders. And just relied on them both staying asleep.

But, frankly, if the 18 mos old never yet got out of the crib unexpectantly, it was only a matter of time before that particular accident happened.

The other thing that scares me about leaving them alone in the house is it's a two-story. Which brings about yet another question since Hasanni has CP how well did he navigate the stairs? MOO

Oh I think there was a trip to the bank which he knew would be found out so he had to admit it. MOO

Could be why LR seems to down play Hasanni's mobility issues in interviews and such. (At least he took pains to correct the misconception he wore leg braces, which is understandable; I seem to recall him also saying Hasanni was fairly mobile, though, IIRC.) He might be trying to cut people off at the pass as to what really happened.

Not only ladies protest too much, at times, eh?

Maybe he thought it would be wise to air out the trunk a bit. That would be stupid, but you never know.

Yes, if Hasanni wore leg braces there's no way he'd be able to get up and down the stairs ~ at least not very easily. I also think LR wanted to make sure Hasanni was perceived as fairly mobile so that the possibility he wandered off could stay out there. Unfortunately for LR & that theory, the dogs didn't pick up on Hasanni's scent. MOO

That's a long ways down whether you went down the stairs or over the railing, KWIM?

I am hazy on the details of something I recall reading - didn't Hasanni go missing in the park just a short while before this last disappearance? What were the circumstances of this? (I shall go look it up, but if any one recalls, that would be super.)

Given the way that LR would want it to appear that Hasanni wandered off this time, I wonder how likely it is that that park disappearance was fake?

(Sorry if this has been brought up already, as it likely has, but I don't remember what people came up with on this. I will go back and seek it out.)

Also, again sorry if this was already mentioned, but is there a pool there or in any of the close neighbours' yards?

Here's a thought - Hasanni is really small for his age, and not able to jump... I wonder if LR would have put both children in the crib "for safe keeping" while he was out - all if would take is falling onto a hard floor at the right angle to do some serious damage to a head or neck.

Jeesh - never mind the railings; that glass table would be enough to do someone in if they stumbled.

Was that "show" furniture, or is that stuff still in the house?

Show furniture I would imagine...but in some of the video's of interviews at the house, I noticed what looked like an awful lot of wrought iron that I'm assuming was attached to the coffe and/or end tables. And naturally, where you see the sofa, it's really the only place to put one in this set-up.
