I'm just speaking from personal experience. When my sister had her kids removed from her by DoCS (in the same area kiesha lives in), and I became their foster parent, she had to complete parenting courses before her children would be returned. (and her kids were neglected, not abused)
She failed to attend some, and had to start over. She also had to see a therapist, but she lied through her teeth. I know because I was there sitting right next to her for the appt. :banghead:
Even though her partner was out of the picture at the time the children were removed from her care, they got back together, and he also had to complete the parenting classes before they could go back to the home.
The classes didn't help my sister one bit, but her partner got something out of it. He's been a single dad to them for years now.
Kristis assault on her daughter occurred roughly 5 ½ years ago and I wonder how Kristi plead to the assault charge? There are laws in some countries that prohibit the Crown from calling a spouse to testify against their spouse in Court with the exception being when a child is missing or murdered. I wonder why the Court didnt convict her? Was it because her spouse couldnt be called to testify against her? If this was the case, the Crown could have subpoenaed Kieshas medical records. Mr. Wieppart said he remembered the incident vividly. "I'll never forget seeing that. She was about 18 or 19 months ... it [the bite] was on the shoulder, through her clothing," he said. "It was so bad ... there was blood under the skin." IMO the Crowns decision not to convict Kristi for committing this horrendous crime enabled Kristi to flee and not accept responsibility for a crime she obviously committed against a defenseless child who depends on her. The Court's decision to drop her charge only increased the risk that she would reoffend in the future. I think Robert is lying and Kiesha was not at home watching a movie the night before her mother reported her missing. My heart breaks for Kiesha and I am praying for her.
