Does anyone know if there is going to be any coverage on Primetime News or JVM? My kids are monopolizing the TV, so I can't watch.

We seem to go through this in every thread. And I know those of you who have been around awhile know this. You may not agree with it, but it is what it is. When LE doesn't issue an Amber Alert it is usually because they can't. The person who makes the decision is not them.

This case does not meet the Amber Alert criteria which is for a KNOWN abduction. It requires a vehicle description and/or suspect info. We may suspect an abduction has taken place, but there is no proof.

ETA: My understanding is the person who approves Amber Alerts are trained by the US department of justice and certified for CART-Child abduction response team. I think we have some members going through the training process at the moment. Maybe they can weigh in with their knowledge.

Thank you RedCat! There is now a flier at City of Stanton, and I will hang more along I20 as far as Midland.

I have sent in a plea to one of the reporters with News West 9 television station in Midland to cover this story.

I have been checking there website for any coverage on this and there has not been any.

Thanks...I got a response from them last night saying...well, let me just copy and paste and maybe you can email the same person also...the more the merrier..right?

here is the response...

From: Mark Kurtz to me
show details 8:34 PM (19 hours ago)

Thank you for the email. We will look into this first thing Monday.

I say email him again...you and/or anyone...i mean it is later than "first thing Monday"...right?

About the phone records - I posted earlier that LE told Billie that they did not find any calls from Hailey on her friends phone. They estimated that the records for Biliie's phone should be here today, but I have not heard whether they have come in or if they have been looked at yet.

Dont know if this will help, but I did not find email addresses or phone numbers for the television stations in Midland/Odessa. But all 3 of them had fb pages. So I liked all 3 of them and reposted the flyer and maybe they will see it and get on board. If any other fb users would do the same maybe they would catch on. The stations there are KMID, KOSA and KWES (news west 9).

Done, Done and done all 3 stations and email!

Was it ever confirmed wether or not Hailey had a cell phone? When mom asked the brother? to text her and tell her to come home, was he texting Hailey or the friend? And, no internet at the house? Did mom know that Hailey had MS and FB? Maybe set up from dads and his gf's house?

YAY...back off Willen...this one's mine! :hand:

I'M JUST KIDDING! I'm actually ecstatic that were making progress with the media!

:great: :great: :great: :great:

I actually hope everyone bombarded the places I listed yesterday. I must say, this was the 2nd massive email distribution and FINALLY getting somewhere. I'm sure the holiday played a role in the delayed responses...which is unfortunate, but I'm guessing a lot of people were on vacation.

I must admit, I am very surprised that today is the first day BS and Sweetwater have covered it...but no time for complaining...nope...we have to find Hailey (and I can complain later)

The radio station here got a hold of News West 9 and they have picked up the story....TSN now has a sound bite on it too.

They have been notified but I can tell you they would rather report on the fact that it is cold up North than to do any "Real" reporting or investigating and that is just MOO.

I am so amazed by all of you fellow WSers! Wow... getting the word out there like that about Hailey... That's just so awesome.

If mom is not familiar with NG's style, I hope she's told by somebody that NG can be......blunt....to put it nicely.

Hello guys. I was directed to this site/forum by a friend. I live in Snyder - about 20 miles north of Colorado City. For the last few days, I've just been reading all of your posts and have been amazed by how influential you guys are in bringing attention to this story. I agree with most of you in that Hailey did not simply run away. What confuses me the most is that the Snyder Daily News (local newspaper here) has yet to put a picture of Hailey on the front page. They've simply run a short story on her. I have, however, seen several flyers around town at gas stations and the grocery store. Anyways, I just wanted to share my thoughts. Keep up the good work guys.

I let czgtz know for the mom to be prepared to answer questions from any and all angles. Yes, it is a GREAT thing for NG to pick this up -- instant exposure to thousands. But when you're on the other end of that line, be prepared for anything because you just never know which way NG will go.
