BUMP!!!!!

I just wanted to link this as it could be a clue to any murders on LI prior to 2006. Weren't some of the Manorville murders before then? This guy has traveled all over the place and for quite a few years. Both of his NC victims were from my area. :(

This article discusses how the FBI has connected serial killings to long haul truckers. I thought it might give us some insight into profiling.

BTW, what is up with so many serial killers having the common middle name 'Wayne' bestowed upon them?

MOO

Were/how did you get this info:

There are new developments in the unsolved murders that have stumped police, and frightened local prostitutes.

Tuesday morning, officials hope to put the spotlight back on this troubling case.

According to a law enforcement source, police are expected to release new evidence, and to ask for the public's help in identifying the victims.

So far, up to ten bodies have been uncovered. Only five have been identified, five young women described as prostitutes.

The rest are described as a young Asian male, a female toddler found wrapped in a blanket, and three more bodies.

All the deaths are still buried in mystery. But given similarities and differences with the remains, investigators believe at least three different killers with three different motives have been using Gilgo Beach as their dumping ground.

This gruesome case was triggered by a missing person's report. Last December, police started searching for a missing Jersey City woman named Shannan Gilbert. She worked as a prostitute and was last seen last May. Since then, search teams have found bodies but no Shannan Gilbert.

Suffolk Police will hold a press conference Tuesday at 11 a.m. regarding the Gilgo bodies investigation.

While no details or further information were provided by the news alert, issued early evening Monday, this is the first update from Suffolk Police since May regarding the serial killer investigation involving four young women and discovery of six additional human remains on the past year along the Ocean Parkway area.

The last official police information released on the bodies case was on July 12 during a national news broadcast.

Suffolk Police Commissioner Richard Dormer was interviewed on the murders of four young women who worked as Craiglist escorts, and the investigation of six additional bodies, during a “48 Hours Mystery,” segment. In that segment Dormer stated that "an arrest is not imminent, but we're making progress.”

Suffolk Police and the Crime Stoppers program had boosted an initial $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest to an unprecedented $25,000 in early June.

Another point of interest is that all of the remains on the barrier island, as well as those of Peaches, Manorville Man #2 (2003), Manorville Female #1 (2000), the unidentified burned female in Poughkeepsie, the undidentified headless body in Montauk were all discarded in either a state or county park.

I’m guessing that the SK thought he was discarding Jessica Taylors remains in Peconic River County Park as he did with Manorville Female #1 three years earlier, as there is no boundary or change in terrain between the two locations, but technically Taylor’s location is outside of the boundary of that park.

If you use google maps, select ‘map’ instead of ‘satellite’ and you will see that all green territory is parkland.

Hempstead Lake State Park - "Peaches"

Jones Beach State Park - Unidentified remains, gender unknown.

JFK Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary - skull, gender unknown.

Gilgo Beach Park - Gilgo 4, asian male, j. taylor, manorville female #2, child.

Peconic River County Park - J. Taylor, Manorville female #2.

LI State Pine Barrens Preserve - Manorville Male #2.

Dennistown Bell Park - decomposed body missing a head.

James Baird State Park - "Lotus Flowers"

It's pretty clear that the suspect has knowledge of and is comfortable in Long Island's County and State Parks. I think he is an avid user of such parks and probably knows the ins and outs of their regulation, access, hours of operation, and if they are patrolled by anyone and during what hours. He may partake in activities such as hiking, fishing, birding or just getting away from it all and spending time in parks. I think his experience with parks makes him comfortable lying about his reason for being in a park and generally using his interest in the park as a cover for criminal activities.

Finally, I believe his acute interest in parks and experience as a Suffolk County Director carried over onto his family, especially his childrens lives and their work experience.

the following are verifiable facts about Mr. Hyde:

child #1:
Has worked in Robert Moses State Park (at the light house), and is currently a National Park Ranger out west.

child #2:
has stated "I have an obsession with National Parks. I want to learn more. ALL THE TIME."

child #3:
Works at Captree State Park on charter fishing boats.

This accumulation of coincidence is not just me "fitting". Your welcome.

For New York area posters: ABC News will have at least something about the case on the eleven o'clock local news. I just saw the teaser.

I really believe that if they release more information, social media will be highly instrumental in the capture of this maniac.

Hi, Sistah Sleuth, I'm hoping that you're right about the capture. (I suspect though that several killers are or were active in the area.)

I don't expect too much from tomorrow's conference, although it is very, very welcome. I suspect that they will release what information they have about the identification of the other corpses.

I agree MK. There's no doubt in my mind that he has other trophy cases and very possibly in other states, IMO. Especially since the new information and specualtion re: HA.

I wish LE would release some new info for us to sleuth.

I have always thought the "Killing Field" is related to the Long Island Serial Killer.

Does John Wayne Boyer remind you of anyone? Look at Arthur Leigh Allen. That was mentioned on the Michelle Haggadone thread today.

Check out the first comment on this page regarding Ivonne Rivera's unsolved murder:

http://www.topix.com/forum/city/north-babylon-ny/TJVQECJ77NHO262G7

there were a few women found like that .
from riverhead to babaylon.
there are about 15 or so by now i think since ive been paying atention to it since late 1980's
a former neighbor of mine was one of them from holbrook found much the same way and since then more women and a few men have met the same fatethere is a serial killer out there .
he seems to strike mostly in fall...or bodies found in winter all is quiet during summer.
like this person is somewhere else and returns home or whatever and does these horrible things to good families.
my prayers are with them all.
i hope they find resolution.

BBM Have there been any serial killers who killed both men and women. Not just men who got in there way but killing as many men as women? Hope I'm making sense.

I saw that JeannieC....striking resemblence!!

That's why I decided to bring the link over here about JWB. Every LEA in the nation should take a look at JWB for unsolved murders, IMO. This guy was a trucker and there is just no telling where all he has been. Ironically, the 3 women he is connected to murdering are all small stature, like the LISK GB4 victims. While he cannot be considered a suspect for the murders of the GB4 because he was incarcerated in '06-07 he could be responsible for other murders where the victims were strangled. MOO

I am stoked to hear about today's presser. Locals please keep up updated!!
