Re the iphone charger use question - I found this info at http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html

Viewing Usage Statistics

Awareness of how you use your iPhone and knowing how long your battery typically lasts can help you improve its battery life. You can view your iPhone usage statistics by tapping the Settings icon on the Home screen and choosing General > Usage. Under the “Time since last full charge” heading you’ll see two items:

Usage: Amount of time iPhone has been awake and in use since the last full charge. The phone is awake when you’re on a call, using email, listening to music, browsing the web, or sending and receiving text messages, or during certain background tasks such as auto-checking email.
Standby: Amount of time iPhone has been powered on since its last full charge, including the time the phone has been asleep.

We tried it here at home, and the data didn't give anywhere near the level of info reported re the GBC phone charger history.

Maybe there's an app? Or maybe it is an ISP thing.

Interesting snippet re prevalence of psychopaths:

The National Comorbidity Survey, using DSM-III-R criteria, found that 5.8% of males and 1.2% of females showed evidence of a lifetime risk for the disorder. However the prevalence in penitentiaries has been estimated to be as high as 75%.

Seems to show that psychopaths aren't all that clever.

he is too stupid to be a sociopath or a psychopath..

...or maybe it is a very, very secret trick that forensic detectives know how to access with the help of IT specialists...

:seeya: I really gotta go and do something else now....gawd!

See Jillie's post above yours. They aren't necessarily clever - and thank goodness for that, otherwise even more of the 'Human Vampires' would be roaming about looking for the next meal.

I wouldn't be at all surprised! It's not really a desirable stat on a day to day basis, is it?

I'm pretty sure that there is no such thing as "Spousal Maintenance" in Australian Family Law...just child maintenance.

There definitely was spousal maintenance in the late 90's at least because I received it. Whether its still available now I don't know.
Cheers

Who is Bruce overland? Is it a made up name?

this is the name he used to email one of his several lovers. The one he promised to be with by the 1st of July. he would also call her from public phone boxes. This is all stated in the latest courier mail article.

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/...lay-bail-hearing/story-e6freon6-1226405120615

What i found the MOST interesting in this article was this:

- He had injuries to his face that he claimed were from shaving, but a forensic analysis concluded to the contrary. The analysis showed the marks were scratches.

- He told police that he was a heavy sleeper and had no idea whether his wife had come to bed but forensic analysis from his mobile phone showed it had been unplugged from its charger at 8.45pm on April 19 and reconnected at 1.48am on April 20. Police also found evidence of a "face time" call between Baden-Clay and his father Nigel's number shortly after midnight.

He contacted the insurance company after a body was discovered but before it was identified as being his wife. Baden-Clay demanded an urgent copy of Allison's death certificate and then made an immediate claim on the policy.

IMO opinion even though they say the case against him is weak, i am totally confident there will be a conviction against him and he will go away for a long long time....poor kids...loose mum and dad....please god help them through this time :please:

Oh wow, really? None at all? I'm surprised. Here a woman would receive maintenance if they were a stay-at-home mom for a long period of time.

well, if psychopaths are not stupid, how to you account for 75% of the incumbents in prisons being diagnosed as psychopaths?

As was discussed on our radio show about sociopaths, IQ has nothing to do with it. Some are smarter in intelligence, some have more street sense, etc. The thing they all share is that they are completely self-absorbed and manipulative. The more they are able to master manipulation, the more successful they are to deceive.

Sounds to me GBC was able to deceive his wife a long time. Doesn't sound like he was very good at covering his tracks, though. Thank goodness for the sake of justice! There are hundreds, if not thousands, of unsolved murders out there caused by sociopaths who are wiser and sometimes just plain luckier.

Just some info for anyone interested in what 'taking the fifth' means. It is actually related to american law not ours but he searched it on his iPhone before he called police which is about as obvious as him openly admitting he did it in my opinion. here is some info and a link on what he searched:

Barron's Law Dictionary:
taking the Fifth

Top
Home > Library > Law & Legal Issues > Law Dictionary
The popular term given to a person’s assertion of the Fifth Amendment right not to give evidence that will incriminate oneself. See pleading the fifth, selfincrimination, privilege against.

guilty as charged your honor....

in my opinion of course

We need to stop discussing other members, past and present. This is the second time I've reminded everyone of this rule.

ETA: Let me clarify, you can discuss information they posted like "I wonder if this post about *** was speculation or media posting?" But trying to "sleuth" who the member was is not allowed.

Either explain why some of the posts above are not sleuthing a former member or self-edit your posts immediately.

Just incredible! And to think that this now actually appears to have been a PLANNED murder! What a terribly unconvincing "actor" he turned out to be.

Oh well, better that than the alternative.

He sure has left his S.C.s with a tough battle, though. I wonder if they'll have to resort to "The Chewbacca Defence"? :floorlaugh:

:floorlaugh:

priceless

Oh wow, really? None at all? I'm surprised. Here a woman would receive maintenance if they were a stay-at-home mom for a long period of time.

We do have it; check below :D

Maintenance
Spouse maintenance is financial support paid by a party to a marriage to their husband or wife (or their former husband or wife) in circumstances where they are unable to adequately support themselves.
De facto spouse maintenance is financial support paid by a party to a de facto relationship that has broken down to their former de facto partner in circumstances where they are unable to adequately support themselves.
The Family Court or Federal Magistrates Court can deal with spouse maintenance applications. If you are seeking de facto spouse maintenance, you need to meet certain criteria. See 'What about de facto partners?' below for more information.
Under the Family Law Act, a person has a responsibility to financially assist their spouse or former de facto partner, if that person cannot meet their own reasonable expenses from their personal income or assets.
Where the need exists, both parties have an equal duty to support and maintain each other as far as they can. This obligation can continue even after separation and divorce. The extent of the support depends on what the other party can afford to pay.

The night GBC was arrested, it was reported his phone/s & computer/s had been sent to Australian Crime Commission in Melbourne. They would have been able to extract EVERYTHING he'd done with that phone. From what I've been reading on this US Forensics Journal, I don't think there's anything they can't find. Even iTunes stores mountains of info alone.

I'm sooo glad there are such clever people in our world who are able to decipher & extract all this technological data....absolutely incredible stuff!!!!

The defence has no choice but to state it is weak, whether they believe it or not. If my legal team walked in and said;

"Gee, you blokes have got a cracking case, and the evidence you have against my client is top notch. We're in a bit of strife here"

Id be pretty dirty

We'll be right, justice will be served piping hot.

I know, logically it all points to NBC knowing something that night, but still wondering if something as small as that can implicate him as an accessory. I'm guessing yes, but is it more complicated than that?

If it turns out that he got a call from his son AND he was also seen at the roundabout (bus stop?) in the wee small hours of the morning by a credible witness, then in my view there is a much stronger case.
