Missing man seemed ‘happy, normal’ in chat just hours before vanishing
....
The day before he disappeared, he'd worked at an east end pizza store, joined his girlfriend for a quick dinner, and then went out to meet some friends for coffee – and never came back.
He didn't disappear at first – he'd planned to meet up later that evening, but called to say his friend's car had a flat and he'd be staying the night and would see her the next day.
She says Harman did not talk to her much about this friend, and she has only met him two or three times, but doesn't really know him.
That night she and Harman video chatted with each other for 90 minutes; Harman at his friend's house, she at hers.
"There was nothing unusual, he was happy. We talked like normal. He showed his friends dog to me – he's a big fan of dogs."
She finally begged off the call at 1:30 a.m. and says they exchanged a few more texts with his last arriving at 2 a.m. saying good night and that they would meet up later that day.
His phone has gone to voice mail ever since. Her texts go unanswered.
"He always replies, he always picks up," his girlfriend says.
His Facebook activity – so prolific it was almost a standing joke between them – suddenly stopped. So too did his daily or twice daily calls home to his parents and little sister in India.
That Monday morning, when he suddenly wasn't doing those things she texted his friend, who called her that afternoon, surprised, and said he had dropped Harman off earlier that morning.
Police have interviewed his friend and confirmed Harman was there on the night of Oct. 26 and into the next morning. They say they are trying to corroborate another sighting about 9:30 a.m. on the 27th in Stoney Creek not far from Harman's home on Amy Lane.
....
His disappearance is being investigated by the homicide squad, and police are urging anyone with information on Singh's whereabouts are asked to call Detective Andrea Richard at 905-546-4067 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
