KHOU in Houston reported Monday, the same day that investigators issued the Amber Alert for the missing 12-year-old, that Angela Martin had gotten a phone call while at work that day around 2:00 p.m.. Mary Gifford, Jonathan Foster's grandmother, told the news station, "Someone called and said it was an emergency. But by the time she picked up the phone, no one was there."
HOUSTON - The investigation into the disappearance of a 12-year-old boy is intensifying. Both of his parents were taken in for questioning on Tuesday and their car was towed by police.
Houston police say the search continues for a missing 12-year-old boy last seen on Christmas Eve as officials work to identify a small child whose badly burned body was discovered early this morning in northeast Houston.
Houston Police investigators are awaiting the results of a forensic examination of a badly-burned body found in a ditch early this morning to see if it is the body of missing 12-year-old Jonathan Foster.
The body was believed to be that of a child about 3-feet tall, but was so badly burned the gender could not be immediately determined. The area around the body was not burned, leading to the theory the victim was burned elsewhere and dumped in the ditch.
According to Chron.com, sources say volunteers later found what was described as a burn site in the 9500 block of Bauman near Tidwell. The site is about one mile from where the child's body was found this morning.
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A burned body found in northeast Houston is believed to be that of a 12-year-old boy missing since Christmas Eve, according to a police source.
Angela Davis called the land line where she and Jonathan live, and a woman with a gruff voice answered, Harris said. Jonathans mother asked for her roommate, and the woman said the roommate wasnt there.
"Then Angela says, Well, this is Angela, Im Jonathans mother. Who are you?" Harris said. "And the woman is heard saying, Is Angela your mother? And the boy replies, Yes maam, Angelas my mother. And then the phone went dead."
A car, belonging to Foster's stepdad, searched and then towed from his apartment complex. He was the last person to have reportedly seen the missing child. Investigators are questioning the stepdad and the boy's mother.
Along the tollway, where the badly burned body was dumped, a surveillance camera on a nearby business has already yielded what police have called significant information.
HOUSTON - A source in the Houston Police Department says a woman is expected to be charged with capital murder in connection to the disappearance of a 12-year-old boy.
A second person, a male, is being searched for in connection with the boy's disappearance
