I agree! I'm not sure why this keeps getting mentioned. Alexis Murphy wasnt white and her case became 'famous' right away. We have more important things to worry about here.

I definitely think there is a media bias, but I don't understand bringing up the issue when Hannah's case has received very little national media coverage (so far). A few articles is what hundreds, if not thousands, of cases get a year. It is 2014...We have online news websites with specific pages for crime w/ dozens of headlines. It is not getting an extraordinary amount of national coverage, so people pointing out that the only reason it is being talked about is because she is a pretty young white woman seems unnecessary. If it becomes the biggest story in America, then one can say that it doesn't deserve to be, if they feel that way, but I think it is way too premature to start that talk.

I have a personal story about my daughter, she was in a bar and someone put the date rape drug in her drink, she told her friends she was going to the car to lie down, but absolutely did not remember anything until she woke up in a guys house in the morning. Fortunately this guy saw her wandering around and took her home, and he happened not to be a bad guy. She totally and completely freaked out when she woke up. He brought her home with him because he felt sorry for her (?) she had no purse or ID, we immediately went to the police and he came forward and told his story, he got in trouble for not calling them when he found her, it was just a stroke of luck that she was not a "missing girl". I honestly feel so blessed that I still have her. My point is not one of her friends walked her to the car, made sure she was ok, they were all drinking and having fun and they didn't want to be bothered with a sick girl. This is the way drinking people act and think. Please tell all of your daughters to be careful. We see this more and more girls missing after drinking. Don't ever let you friends walk alone or go to the car alone. After so many days of a girl missing, things don't look too good, I feel so sorry for her parents, they don't deserve this, but predators do not care about other people and how they feel. And there's always a chance she could have had some type of accident. I pray for this girl and her family. I hope she's found.

Why is MH mentioned in almost every case of a young female? And, why is RAT being brought up? He's in prison.

Because this girl went missing in the same area as MH and her killer is still out there. I don't think it's bad to cover all scenarios. And RAT was brought up because we were pointing out that this CAN'T be connected to alexis Murphy because her killer is in jail. It's just to point out IF she was abducted there is another one out there.

So here's Morgan Harrington's suspect (minus hair and a tweak to his beard) along with a violent sex offender and drug dealer who is the only sex offender that lives around the corner where Hannah Graham was last seen. He fits the height and weight as well, and his MO is the same as the woman assaulted in 2005 they linked to Morgan's case. So seeing as how he was possibly spotted not long after Hannah's disappearance, the possibility is the same perp (along with these other facts) make me raise my eyebrow quite inquisitively.

From the beginning I have suspected ruffies in this case. Just seems like she was toooo disassociated.

My question to that would be it was DNA that connected the MH case and the 2005 rape so would they have his DNA being a RSO and if so he should've already been linked to those cases right?

Wow! Now that is disturbing.

I should know this......but, if they are on the registry, don't they have to submit to giving a DNA sample?

I'm really not sure. Since his sex offense was back in 1990, they wouldn't have gotten it then. Its just a question of if they did later or not. But I do know MANY sex offenders from the 90's fell through the cracks and got out without ever being swabbed. Ever since then, he's failed to register a few times, got picked up for hiding the fact he was a sex offender and using a fake name, got arrested on some assault and batteries, but nothing that would have prompted a DNA swab. Plus, they never specified how connected the two cases were. They could've matched them based on a partial DNA profile and flagged several people, but not enough to confirm him or not.

Virginia
Offender DNA Requirements
(
Virginia Code §19.2-310.2)
Applicability
– Effective July 1, 1990, every person convicted of a felony
must submit a DNA sample to the state as a condition of their sentence. The law
applies to both felons who are incarcerated and those who are not.
Effective January 1, 2003, persons may also be required to submit DNA
samples if they are arrested for any of the following crimes: first and second
degree murder or voluntary manslaughter; mob-related felonies; any kidnapping
or abduction felony; any malicious felonious assault or malicious bodily
wounding; burglary; robbery; carjacking; felony sexual assault; arson of an
occupied structure; and entering a dwelling, house, etc., with intent to commit
a misdemeanor or felony. Arrestees’ profiles are entered into the state DNA
databank and are available to law enforcement agencies for comparison purposes
in unsolved cases. If the defendant is acquitted or the case is dismissed, the DNA
sample/profile, and all records thereof, must be destroyed. (Va. Code Ann. §19.2-
310.2:1)

But I keep telling myself, surely...SURELY, the first thing any LE did was check for violent sex offenders in the UVA area in both cases. So maybe its all coincidence. But I also don't believe in coincidence. Perhaps they did, but just never had enough evidence to go after him.

But sometimes, things do get overlooked...

In 1989, the Virginia Division of Forensic Sciences implemented DNA testing in its criminal investigations, becoming the first state crime lab to introduce such a policy. Later that same year, the Virginia General Assembly became the first American legislature to pass laws that required certain classes of offenders to submit DNA samples for inclusion in a DNA databank. This law required certain sex offenders and certain violent felons to provide samples for the databank. However, just one year later, the legislature expanded the law to require that all felons provide samples for inclusion in the state DNA databank and also required that all felons held in Virginia prisons provide samples upon their release. In 1992, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit upheld the constitutionality of Virginia's databasing system.

Wanted to point out a couple of things; In one of Hannahs previous texts she mentioned something about an over eager boy following her. Its not inconceivable to think that someone who is scared and thinks theyre being followed could cover a lot of distance, even drunk. Especially someone who is 5'11", young and with long legs.

I looked at the map of C-ville around 14th and Wertland and there seems to be a park that has a statue of George Rogers Clark in it right across the street.

Theres also another Irish Pub called Trinity Irish Pub within walking distance of 14th and Wertland...perhaps she was heading there after leaving the first pub?

At any rate, I hope the police get some leads soon, for the sake of her and her family. The longer she goes without being found the greater the likelihood that something bad has happened to her.

It's certainly worth a look. He may very well have slipped through the cracks. Send the tip in if you have not already.
