Anith Jones, 35, of Merrillville, hasnt been seen since Oct. 8 and her family members and friends are worried she has come to harm.

So are Gary police, who recovered her car Friday night and found evidence inside that suggests she may be the victim of foul play.

Detectives Cpl. James Nielsen and Daryl Gordon are investigating the womans disappearance. They organized a search Wednesday morning of the Colonial Gardens neighborhood where her 2001 silver Chevrolet Prism was located, parked in the driveway of a vacant house.

Quite a bit of information on FB...doesn't sound good at all. Seems she was going to court for a domestic dispute. There are pictures of the search where the car was found and seems to be water around

Throughout Saturday night into early Sunday morning, the bodies were recovered in the 2200 block of Massachusetts, 400 block of E. 43rd Avenue and 1800 block of E. 19th Avenue in Gary.

Lake County Indiana Coroner is now conducting autopsies on all of the bodies...

Most disturbing is the possibility of even more bodies being recovered in the coming days, as the suspect begins to talk with investigators.

Authorities have identified the second of four women found dead in northwest Indiana as a 35-year-old Merrillville resident.

The Lake County coroner's office said Sunday that Anith Jones had been identified by family members. An autopsy had not yet been completed...

Hammond police Lt. Rich Hoyda says a 43-year-old Gary man has confessed to killing Hardy and told police where the other three bodies could be found.

A Gary, Indiana man is in custody after police discovered a womans body at a Motel 6 in Hammond on Friday. The possible serial killer has confessed to the murder and also led police to three additional womens bodies, all in abandoned homes, on Saturday and early Sunday. As the suspect has not yet been charged his identity has not been released.

After the 43-year-old man was arrested at his home he confessed to the murder at the Hammond, Indiana Motel 6, and begin to confess to multiple additional murders, leading police to the location of three other bodies. At least one was decomposed, according to Gary Police Cpl. Gabrielle King. There is the possibility of even more bodies being recovered as the suspect is interviewed further by investigators.

"Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. said in two Facebook posts Sunday afternoon that the man, who he called a serial killer, has “admitted to a couple of homicides in Hammond,” some of which date back 20 years. He also said in his posts that the man is a convicted sex offender."

Afrikka Hardy was 4 months pregnant, according to her mother, Lori Townsend. Hardy was found strangled in a Hammond motel. Her family lives in the Denver area.
