Hollande giving speech: we are gathered as highest authorities of the state ... With the families and relatives and friends in mourning. With the police men and women we trust with our security. At a place symbol of link between republic and police since 1944. Here that the glorious week was launched leading to the declaration of the liberation of Paris. In honour of (lists the officers who died) struck by the bullets of terrorists. They have in common the desire to protect their fellow citizens. Had in common an ideal serving the republic and died with courage, bravery and dignity as police officers. To you the familes and relatives i assure you that the whole of France shares in your grief. They died so that we can live in freedom. This is what everyone marched for in France, rising massively to share your grief and attachment to liberty equality and fraternity and express their gratitude and pride in those who died and were wounded to defend the public. France showed its strength faced with fanaticism. Displayed its unity faced with those who are divided. The journalists of CH and the employees there and the victims of the kosher supermarket. All of those victims, the whole of france, three officers who represent the diversity of origin and background and the missions of the police forces in the country. Illustrate what professionalism and attachment to the values of the republic. So that nothing is ever forgotten and kept in our memory what the sacrifice was. The significance of their deaths. For that reason they have been given the legion of honour. (Hollande now lists each officer and their biography where born and why they wanted to serve. Moving and detailed biography of each of them) woman intervened and cowardly shot in the back - how can we justify such a cowardly assassination of a young woman rich with the premisses of life and devoted to her citizens. What could be the reason for this aggression. In all their harshenss she was shot because she was wearing a police officer uniform, she was a symbol of the republic. She was also there to prevent the terroist from going further in his madness (means how the nearby Jewish school was true target). Proud and happy to serve her country, will provide a beacon of light forever. Now speaks about Ahmed from a beautiful large family. Hollande says how he met his family and they told him about Ahmed and how hard he worked to become a police officer. He had a beautiful future ahead and was due for a promotion. His colleagues are here with us. Ahmed was one of those policemen that Parisians knew well;preventing accidents, intervening when needed which he had done courageously only a few months back. Very proud to represent French police. Secularity -all forms of beliefs and religions protected, all together. He knew fanaticism has nothing to do with Islam. Jihadists strike down those men and women- belief in their faith and convictions who simply want to be free and who died to oppose those fanatics. His sacrifice is a lesson he delivers to us to denounce anti-muslim acts to refuse confusion. His face, the memory of him will continue shedding light on our paths. Now speaks of Franck; joined when very young like his twin brother. Goes into detail of his personal qualities and how much he was appreciated by his colleagues and the journalists he protected at Charlie Hebdo. Accompanied Charb everywhere wherever where he went, even on visits to family and friends. He took Charb everywhere. He died gun in hand. The journalists only had their pens. Insolence and importance the better to express independence in the name of the republic. Three police officers, three faces of France. The terrorist mask of hatred that detests what France represents diversity, pluralism, secularism, peace. France will never cower, will never bow, will rise to the challenge strong, standing up thanks to its security forces who launched assault to neutralise the assassins. It is freedom in the end that won out and the people of France rose to express their attachment to living together in fraternity. The declaration of France, the motto of the republic are ideals on which France is founded, worth fighting for- this is why we have forces to defend them and with these forces we want honour and respect today. The threats are still there, at times beyond our borders and then our soldiers will have to fight but also to be found within all of us so we have to be more vigilant mobilise all our forces to reinforce police officers to ensure the security of sensitive places and also our intelligence services. It is also incongruent on the govt and all French men and women to take the necessary measures to cope with these threats in full respect for the values in which we are founded: fairness, intransigent faced with such things as anti muslim acts, intractable faced with glorification of terroism and the second to act with level headedness, take measures adapted to circumstances and finally Unity, our strongest weapon in which our strength lies. What French are capable of doing when what is essential is at stake. We are capable of confronting any peril because we are France and are a beacon for the world when liberty is at stake. (Paid beautiful tribute to police officers). Delivers message to all generations, especially the youngest who at times .. must understand what is happening what is at stake as will provide a basis for their minds. Know that if we have wounded and dead we will make them rise again and will continue fighting. Victims represent human dignity, keep on showing the honour of human beings that is our fight- the humble honour of human beings. France standing up today because police officers fell (repeats gratitude to the 3) Thanks to you France is standing. Long live the republic, long live France. (the beautiful bells of Notre Dame are now heard).

Typed that as fast as i could! Hope it makes sense

HOW OIC'S EFFORTS TO CRIMINALIZE DEFAMATION OF ISLAM AND ISLAMOFOBIA ARE ROOTED IN ISLAMIC LAW

Must see video with high quality info!

Stephen Coughlin has posted a video lecture outlining how the OIC’s efforts with respect to Resolution 16/18 are really rooted in Islamic law’s codes prohibiting blasphemy:

Saudi scholar softens fatwa over snowmen

<snip> “The model should be like the scarecrow with no features sculpted into the face that is used by farmers to scare away birds,” he posted on his account late on Monday. “It could also be similar to some shapes that are used to warn people about roadworks."

<snip> “The ban, condoned by religious scholars, also covers models of people and animals made of sweets and paste, not just snow, if their facial features are clearly sculpted,” he said. “This means that if the model has no head or the facial features are obliterated, then there is no ban on it,” he said.

We hear all the time other people' religious feelings must not be offended.
Thankfully someone posted a guidance how to make a sharia-compliant snowman. ⛄️

Nigel Farage: Ghettos in French cities have become no-go zones for non-Muslims

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pol...-have-become-no-go-zones-for-non-Muslims.html

"In parts of northern England we've seen the sexual grooming of under-age girls committed by Muslim men, in the majority, and for all of these things we are seeing the law not being applied equally, we're seeing the police forces not doing their job because we've suffered from moral cowardice.

Google 'Rotherham' :-((( it has been mentioned before in this thread.

Ah that I agree entirely with. But then how can we agree on who is nuts and who isn't? We would certainly all have different views on who is nuts and the degree of nuttiness ;)

Put simply, my definition of nuttiness is someone who searches for something to be offended about & kills those who offend them. Just think how dull the world would be if we all thought exactly alike.

That is very true indeed :)

Sad day today. My thoughts are with the families of the victims. :(

Yep. No words for it, so sad. This young woman and the Yoav Hattab, who was only 21 years old had everything to live for. They're both so beautiful, don't you think? Clarissa Jean-Philippe mom, inconsolable as Pres. Holland paid respect.

From here and here

Aged 26, she was about to graduate as a municipal policewoman and was fatally shot in the back on 8 January while responding to a traffic accident a short distance from a Jewish school in Montrouge, Paris.

Described by colleagues as "lively and dynamic", she was from the French Caribbean island of Martinique, where her family still lives.

She was directing traffic after the accident when she was shot, and parents at the nearby school believe her actions prevented a far greater attack on its children.

His brother said on BMFTV yesterday that he is very proud of him for having tried to protect those around him and that he's sure Yoav is in Paradise.

A friend who lives in France put it this way. The belief that no go zones exist in France or other nations of the EU is directly proportional to how far the believer lives from the localities in question.

If you want a more detailed explanation, Snopes has a good article on the subject:

Thanks for the link, but I don't believe anything that snopes says.

Josh Earnest: Wouldn’t Be Accurate to Call Paris Attackers ‘Radical Islamists’

http://www.mediaite.com/online/josh...te-to-call-paris-attackers-radical-islamists/

NPR’s Mara Liasson grilled White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest today about why they refuse to use the phrase “radical Islam” in reference to terrorist attacks like the ones in Paris last week. Eric Holder wouldn’t bite when asked about it in two separate interviews on Sunday.
