My heart breaks for the victims of these earthquakes. It must be so frightening to have the aftershocks just keep coming. Prayers for all involved.
 
Terrible tragedy. There are people all over Mount Everest climbing. Hikers are trying to reconnect the trails above and below the avalanche so people can evacuate the mountain. Still having aftershocks and avalanches. Some uninjured climbers are suffering altitude sickness. They are trying to evacuate people by helicopter. Snow and weather making it difficult. One Sherpa who survived and was rescued said many, many tents were buried in the avalanche.

Where to now? After yesterdays horrific shake up and horrific avalanche we are on highly tenterhooks. This afternoon the team had a discussion about our options. Shortly afterwards we again felt the earth shake. We all ran into the centre of the camp rotating in all directions to try and see from where the rocks and avalanche would come from and to try to find a suitable shield. It’s so unstable now that rock fall and minor avalanches occur consistently. It’s the big thundering monsters we are frightened of – like yesterdays.

You might ask why we don’t get the hell out of dodge? We could but there is nowhere to go that is any safer than were we are right now.
 
CNN just showed raw uncut video of the avalanche hitting the base camp. I wish they wouldn't bleep out the language.
 
Those who have traveled there say Nepalese very kind and humble people.
Also, tourists say after quake there has been no crime and looting.

1 million kids require urgent humanitarian assistance via UNICEF

A well-known author of a book on Kathmandu who is in the country has been tweeting about possible looting. He's being asked by media for an interview so there may be a media link soon.
