A man's bound body, along with a mattress, has been found in Bali. He was inside a plastic bag, and his throat had been cut. Police at first said he was Australian, but have now amended that and say the victim is British and used to live in Australia. He is married to an Indonesian woman, lives in Bali and is thought to have died early Monday.

'A forensics doctor at Bali's Sanglah Hospital, Ida Bagus Putu Alit, said there were three cuts to the man's neck, one of which severed a vein and killed him.
The man's legs and arms were tied and he had bruises to his face and body.'

THE wife of a man found murdered in Bali has confessed to ordering a hit on her husband and has tonight been declared a suspect in his grisly death. And police in Bali say that one of his killers has been arrested.
Police said it would be alleged that Robert Kelvin Ellis’ wife, Julaikah Noor Aini, paid to have her husband murdered for many reasons, including claims that he often cheated on her.

Heck. Police got a confession quick. But I saw on our thread for Sheila Mack's murder in Bali, that the justice system is more beneficial to those who confess their crimes and apologize, so maybe she's aware of this?

Robert also had bruises around his head and face. I hope police catch the other suspect - I'm sure there must be more than one.

Robert is believed to have two sons living in Australia.

Wife who has confessed to ordering the hit is saying unfavourable things about her husband, but others are saying the opposite, in Australia.

' Ross and Katherine Taylor, of Perth, say they've known the couple for years, and are thinking of their children at this time."We are coming to terms with this tragedy only very slowly," said Mr Taylor, who is the president of the Perth-based Indonesia Institute.

Mr Taylor said Mr Ellis was a very successful businessman who had lived in Indonesia for many years and was well liked.'

I'd like to know if he had an insurance policy on his life, and who the beneficiary is.

THE sons of an Australian man whose slashed body was found in a Bali rice field in a killing allegedly ordered by their mother say they are "completely devastated".

JOHN and Peter Ellis, both students of Perth's Edith Cowan University, say their businessman father Robert, 60, was a huge influence in their lives.

The sons, due to arrive in Bali on Friday, released a statement paying tribute to their father.

Noor Ellis asked for a divorce twice, slain husband Bob begged her to stay

THE woman accused of masterminding the murder of her Australian husband Robert Ellis in Bali told police that she had twice asked him for a divorce this year but he begged her not to go ahead.

Noor Ellis claims the marriage was in trouble and in June this year she lodged divorce proceedings with the Denpasar District Court but withdrew the application after her husband begged her.

Then, early this month Mrs Ellis claims she again sought a divorce and again he begged her to stay with him.

The 45-year-old businesswoman denies the police allegations that she masterminded her husband of 25 years’ death by paying a group of five men a total of 150 Million Rupiah or $A14,200 to slit his throat in their Sanur villa in Bali a week ago. If charged with premeditated murder she faces the death penalty.

Mrs Ellis’ version of events is vastly different to the police case, which is that she ordered the hit on her husband.

At first, I thought it was one of those "rich and old married young and poor", but it seems they have been married for a long time (25 years), and have an age gap that is not too terrible (15 years). It is just baffling how murder is preferred to divorce.

THE six alleged killers of Australian man Robert Ellis in Bali, including his wife, will all face the death penalty.

The suspects, including his well-dressed Indonesian bride Noor, were today brought to the prosecutors office in Denpasar to have their case handed over from police and readied for court

Prosecutors said that all six — Noor Ellis, the couple’s two housemaids, and three of the hitmen who helped slit his throat — will all face charges of premeditated murder which carries the maximum death penalty. They will also face murder charges, carrying 20 years.

On the day of the killing, the men waited for two hours in the couple’s Sanur villa for Robert Ellis to arrive. Ellis’s wife then gave the men a signal, Aril said. “She said ‘Mr Bob has come’ ... so that we were prepared,” he said. “We were told to move to the kitchen by Mrs Noor. Mrs Noor gave a towel and pillow to Rangga and Martin to hold Mr Bob’s face.”

Through Martin, she had requested the act not be done “sadistically”. They used two knives, Aril said, “to stab and to slit Mr Bob’s neck.” Ellis later gave the men plastic and blankets to wrap her husband’s body before driving them to a rice field where they could dispose of it, he said.

Bali woman Noor Ellis faces 15 years jail over death of husband Robert Ellis

A BALI court is due to hand down its verdict and sentence for a woman accused of plotting and paying $14,000 for the murder of her West Australian businessman husband.

Ellis could be sentenced to the maximum death penalty for premeditated murder but prosecutors have instead recommended 15 years in prison.

Noor Ellis has been sentenced to 12 years. Her 'politeness, remorse and the mental pressure' were taken into account.

Robert's sons have called for an appeal, saying anything less than 20 years is inadequate.
