^ What a ridiculously large settlement considering that McNair was not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the crash , i.e. he is largely to blame for his death in what was a survivable crash and he didn't leave any dependents (his children are adults) . Also at age 63 how much earning potential was left? Reportedly when he wasn't doing stand-up "comedy" he worked part time at the Salvation Army.

If this obscure McNair guy is worth $10 Million imagine how much money Tracy Morgan stands to get? The talent-less and unfunny Morgan has been delivering the best acting of his life as he travels to and from physiotherapy.

May 27 (Reuters) - Comedian Tracy Morgan and other people injured in a crash with a Wal-Mart Stores Inc truck last year have reached an out-of-court settlement for an undisclosed sum with the world's largest retailer, court documents filed on Wednesday showed.Morgan, who starred in the TV show "30 Rock" and the late night comedy sketch show "Saturday Night Live," was badly injured and comedian James 'Jimmy Mack' McNair was killed in the June 7 accident on the New Jersey Turnpike.

There was a post a couple of pages back that said Tracy Morgan watched the funeral on Youtube once he awoke from the coma.

It would have been a nice touch to honor his late friend in the speech but I would be a little cautious before "blasting" people for things they did or didn't do after they got a severe head injury because there's no telling how it may have affected their daily life, behavior, decision making, communication, initiative, level of effort required just to get out of bed, how easily they get fatigued etc. Morgan said he's been having lots of headaches and is forgetful and there could be other problems.

If healthy people want to be in touch with someone with a head injury it might often be better for the healthy person to make the first move.

The legal term is vehicular manslaughter. Someone can kill intentionally using a car as Clara Harris did in Texas, and another black gal whose name I can't recall did with her SO, or they can injure unintentionally by speeding. I was hit by a car walking to Jr. High across the street from my house by speeding teenagers(I'm lucky to be alive), so I have NO sympathy for the truck driver. My sympathies lie with Tracy Morgan and the McNair family.
