I'm interested to know what led the police to arrested them both so quickly, I mean it was pretty fast. Could it be they we're attempting to dispose of evidence but the police presence put a stop to it and something led police quickly back to them? I think Kayleigh's phone gave them clues but there must be other reasons the police arrested them BOTH so soon?

It may be because they know LH was the 27 year old she was meeting off Facebook & SB's van which is usually parked nearby was no where to be seen or accounted for. They knew LH didn't drive so that's why they were both brought in? Some clues could have also been found on her phone. Jmo.

I assume the best friend who was also going to meet the men met on social media knew the name of that man and gave it to police?

Thanks Skibs and Alyce.
It seems disrespectful to put in writing, but I was surprised she was left in a field when a large amount of water is nearby IYKWIM?

But thank god she was. Found quickly to be returned to her family. And thankfully not in the state Becky was :(

I'd imagine Kayleigh's friend pointed them in the direction of LH on the Sunday. It's still unclear whether he was living at SB's house.

Likely as the best friend was originally going to go with her to meet up with him. Wonder if it could have saved her if the best friend did go along. Or they both could have sadly ended up dead. Guess we'll never know! :(

I think it sounds as if it was engineered so that Kayleigh would go alone ... :(

Me to which is why she then lied to her best friend saying she was no longer meeting up with him, & that she was going to her aunties instead.. If only she actually did instead go there :(

This police report was updated this morning. I'm really struggling with why they can't formally ID her, I can only think that the circumstance she was found in must have be horrendous.

Body found believed to be Kayleigh Haywood
Issued on 19/11/15 at 9:59 a.m.

Police believe that the body found in a field in Ibstock is that of the missing teenager Kayleigh Haywood.

Formal identification is yet to take place.

A post mortem will be carried out to determine the cause of death, and a detailed forensic examination of the area where the body was found at around 10pm last night will continue this morning. That area will remain cordoned off.

Kayleigh’s family are aware of these developments and continue to be supported by specially-trained police Family Liaison Officers.

Detective Chief Superintendent David Sandall, Head of Crime for Leicestershire Police, said: “From the evidence available to us, we believe that the body found is Kayleigh.

“Understanding the events leading up to her death, and precisely how she died, is clearly our focus, as is providing whatever support we can to Kayleigh’s parents, brothers and sister at this desperately bleak time for them.

“Last night many members of the community came together for a vigil and I know that this demonstration of support and care for Kayleigh’s family will continue to be shown in the days, weeks and months to come.

“It remains vital that anyone who has any information at all about where Kayleigh has been since she was last seen outside the Ibstock Community College in Central Avenue, Ibstock, on Friday night and who has, for whatever reason not yet come forward, does so without delay. We need to understand where she went and what has happened to her.”

Two men, aged 27 and 28, who were arrested in the early hours of Monday morning on suspicion of kidnap and who were yesterday re-arrested on suspicion of murder, remain in police custody this morning. An application was granted by magistrates this morning to hold them for a further and final 24 hours.

I wonder what Kayleigh thought she was going to be doing that evening with LH. It seems he must have lured her in with something to make her do that alone, but she was happy to agree in advance to spend the night with someone she had never met and didn't know if she would even like. It's very strange.

I would think that is police speak until a formal identification by relatives has been made. But the wording did concern me too.

Unique, I think that is standard police talk. They can't ever say until family have identified the body.

I watch too much ID channel lol

I don't think they lived together, but in adjacent houses, but yeah. What do we really know about either of them? Not much

I love the ID channel.. Definitely the most watched in my house! [emoji1] I miss "Disappeared" though. That was my fave!

Yeah, i don't think they lived together either. As two properties were being searched if I remember correctly which im assuming were LH & SB's house? Also, hadn't one only lived there for about 2 months?

I must admit, with LH's dreams of being a horror movie screenwriter, and the Friday the 13th date, I have wondered if they were acting out one of his screenplays and potentially even filmed it.

Oh yes. They show repeats at 4am, and I'm often still up so watch them again. I think there is a new series in the works?

Sorry for the o/t

@skibaboo Oh I hope so! The build up & the music at the beginning made it all the more interesting. I think I watched every episode [emoji85][emoji23]

That's right. The crucial word is "formally".
There's nothing at all sinister about the wording. They're just trying to make it clear that there's no doubt it is her

I get its police talk. What I'm struggling with is she was found at 10.00pm last night and at 9.59am this morning police have still not ID'd her. Could just be the autopsy couldn't be carried out through the night or SOC had a lot to do.
