RIP Gordie

I am a big hockey fan and Gordie was one of the best players in his time.

A great skater and puck handler. He reminded me of Wayne Gretskey back in his day.
I even saw Gordie at a Washington Capitals game not too long ago. He was there as a guest for some special event.

His son Mark was also a great hockey player too and elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2011.
Gordie was Inducted in 1972 into the Hockey Hall of Fame

RIP Gordie a true legend of the sport

Sad day in 'Hockeytown' :(

I feel like I've been punched in the gut.

Rest in Peace Mr. Howe.

He's a legend who crosses rivalry lines and I think the entire hockey world is mourning his loss.

Wojo: This was how Mr. Hockey should depart

Bob Wojnowski, The Detroit News 7:18 a.m. EDT June 16, 2016

Detroit — He brought out everyone, from regular folks to royalty. One final time, Mr. Hockey was a man of the masses, among the masses, from the thousands who paid their respects at Joe Louis Arena to the hundreds who attended his funeral.

This was perfect, precisely how Gordie Howe should depart. He was a man without borders or barriers, who bridged generations and demographics. Everyone knew him, or knew of him. Everyone seemed to have met him at least once, at a book signing, a charity event, or a chance encounter at the airport...
