The lifeless body of Suzanne "Sue" Pitcher, 38, was found in a field, just off the roadway on Wadsworth Road in the Town of Caledonia. Ms. Pitcher was last seen near her home on East Main Street, Rochester, near Culver Road, in the early morning hours of August 2, 1999. Her body was discovered around 7:00 A.M.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, and Rochester Police Department have investigated hundreds of leads and conducted numerous interviews. Efforts continue to bring the case to resolve, to bring her killer to justice, and to provide her family a sense of closure.

There is reason to believe that there may be individuals who have information pertinent to this investigation, that for unknown reasons, have not yet come forward. We are making an appeal to those persons to contact the Sheriff's Office as soon as possible. Even if you think your information is unimportant, or someone else may have already reported what you know, please call the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. Your call may be the one that provides us with the information to solve this case.

- Slender Build Medium Length Hair (NOTE: Description may vary)
- Suspect Vehicle Early to Mid-90s Small to Midsize Dark Green or Turquoise. Unknown if 2 or 4 door vehicle.

Was "last seen near her home" with a descriction of a man and his car at the dump site-was she hitchhiking?
 
There is barely anything available on the internet in terms of information. Nothing even about Sue as a person.

I don't know how prevalent hitchhiking is in Rochester but why would she hitchhike? She's last seen near her home in the early hours of the morning, where else would she need to be that she couldn't wait a few hours for daybreak?
