"...the FOX 8 I-Team has learned he certainly knew the neighborhood where police say he killed the young girl. Court records show he used to live steps away from the crime scene at an apartment."

His listed address, 3865 Colony Rd, South Euclid, is about 6-7 miles from Fuller

However I just read this

Who is Christopher Whitaker?
In 2012 Whitaker was evicted from an address on East 93rd, according to records. His last known address is South Euclid; however, sources said Whitaker was living off and on at a home on East 84th Street, off Superior Avenue in Cleveland.

East 84th is just over 3 miles from Fuller, but I'm confused because it's nowhere near Superior Ave?

But Cuyahoga County Jail records show that Christopher Whitaker, the man accused of killing Alianna, was jailed during two of the four other slayings that Reed cited. In the other two cases, he was days away from being arrested in unrelated cases.
Cleveland police on Friday said that they've tested Whitaker's DNA against DNA in the CODIS cold-case crimes database and found no matches in any other major crimes, although the data is still being analyzed.

Seems conflicting information. Its either been checked against all other crimes or not.

"although the data is still being analyzed"

When are they going to be done checking his DNA against other crimes.

I dont have a lot of comfort level that they are done checking when I see that stipulation they added at the end.

Re BBM

I also hope they tested those two crimes too even if the jail records indicated he may have been in jail at the time.

Sometimes a person can bail out and if there is a simple mistake of when he bailed out then he may have been out on the streets even if the jail records indicate otherwise.

I hope they dont rely on the jail records to not test his DNA against those two victims too. They need to test his DNA against ALL murders committed on or around 93rd street at a minimum IMO.

When researching what happened to the victims a lot of them seem to have suffered a very similar fate to this case. He was such a violent person that no matter how they ended up dying he would be a suspect IMO.

One thing I found interesting is he was evicted from his place he was staying when he lived near 93rd. I am thinking he may have had resentment from being evicted and that could be one of the reasons why that location was chosen.

We know he held a grudge against the person he raped because he sent threatening communication to her many months after the original crime.

Since we know he keeps holding onto a grudge for a very long time then it seems to fit that he could have held onto a grudge about being evicted from that area.

I tried to find out why he was evicted and I could not find it. I suspect it may have been because the charges against him around that time. Once the tennants in the area found out about the charges then I am pretty sure they notified his property manager about him. Or maybe they found out on their own.

There are lots of assisted housing in that area and I am guessing he was staying in one of the government assisted housing programs before he was evicted. They have pretty strict rules for their tenants which is a good thing. It helps keep proper tenants that really need the help and obey the rules of the housing.

I know someone who used assisted housing in the state I live which is a different state but is how I learned about the rules with government assisted housing.

Please stop leaving mementos

The family does not want mementos left at the house where she died, which of course is understandable!

Also on Saturday, there will be a wake and funeral service.

RIP. :rose::rose::rose:

Her mother, Donnesha Cooper, is asking supporters to stop leaving mementos there, because the family would rather have Alianna remembered in places she loved. They ask that any items for Alianna be left at her school, E Prep & Village Prep Woodland Hills, or her elementary school, AJ Rickoff on E. 147th Street.

Heather Hall, Alianna's cousin, said the New Spirit Revival Civic Conference and Events Center in Cleveland Heights told the family they would not be able to hold the funeral and wake on Saturday as planned.

Hall said the church told her they didn't have enough staff to open the events center and that there was a "hiccup" with getting the funds for the funeral from a account established after Alianna's death.

On Wednesday, the family made plans to hold Alianna's wake and services at the Imani Temple Ministries on North Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights. The wake will be at noon with services to follow at 12:30 p.m.

Thomas Boyd, the operations director at Imani Temple, said they are providing the church and services to Alianna's family for free.

"That's what we do as a church," Boyd said. "When the community needs us, we're there for them."

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio - Hundreds of people gathered to say goodbye to 14-year-old Alianna DeFreeze Saturday.

Police escorted Alianna’s body from Lucas Funeral Home in Garfield Heights to Imani Temple Ministries in Cleveland Heights for her funeral Saturday morning.

[...]

"Disgusted... she didn't have to, so young, she had so much to give, I mean she won't be able to finish school, get married, do anything, life just taken away from her by this monster," said Laura Cowan, a community activist.

The Praise Dancers from the Cleveland School of the Arts paid tribute to her.

Her aunt read a letter written in memory of Alianna by her grandfather.

"The 14 years you were here, you gave me and your grandmother so much happiness. How you made your grandpa laugh when he was down, and teased him when you were done, how I'm going to all of the warm and loving hugs you gave me."

Imani Temple Ministries on North Taylor Road was packed during the wake held at noon. Many in attendance stepped to the front of the church to give their condolences to members of Alianna's family. Flowers flanked her casket.

Many wore purple because it was Alianna's favorite color. She also enjoyed Frozen, Finding Nemo, Glitz dolls and other "girly things," her obituary said.

"She's in safe hands, she's in safe hands in the hands of Jesus," Bishop Mark Perry said during her funeral service. "She's safe in the arms of Jesus."

The family immediately left the church after the service for the private internment.

Edward McDonald grew up with Alianna's father Damon DeFreeze and was the youngest of their group of friends.

"They're a very loving and straight forward family," he said. "Damon was so close to his girls."

Christopher Whitaker, 44, was originally charged with aggravated murder. Now, he faces an indictment for rape, kidnapping, offenses against a human corpse, burglary and tampering with evidence.

The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office told FOX 8 News it will seek the death penalty in this case.

“This defendant snatched a 14-year-old child off the street and brutally murdered her,” said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley. “The facts of this case together with his violent criminal history compels this Office to seek the death penalty.”
