In a similar vein, not many people expected a SK to abduct and murder 2 victims from wealthy suburb of Claremont!
But yes that happened.
And yes those 2 murders were unexpected and out of the ordinary.
So it makes sense to consider that other out of the ordinary events could occur in a nice place like Claremont!!!!

I'm going to make up a new word:

Capornism = the failure to view any other possibilities or POVs other than those considered the main focus, or the right and accepted way to approach an issue. The tendency to prefer tunnel vision. Refusal to see other non-conforming or non-confirming possibilities.

I guess everyone that disagrees with your opinion is Capornistic. List all the suggestions you have made since the start of the year, I have agreed with some as possibilities, I don't agree with this.

That's cool if you disagree.

Actually if I expected every sleuth here to agree with me without question, then I would behaving Capornistically!

So I'm not expecting everyone to agree with me.

I expected some debate when proposing a new scenario

Interesting...thanks petedavo ,
This might have "just hit 10 on my wierds**tometer"
His book on the Susan Christie murder and articles in the Post about the CSK cases certainly suggests that Bret's social circle included a Police deepthroat. Maybe even one within the DPP at some stage. The online article about the Government Rd building certainly seemed to of rattled someone. And so to the article about the stuff ups in the forensic evidence being missed and having been mislaid and found again. There's some names on that list that could include inside sources on Police cases that seemed to of failed in Court. Almost as though the defence teams were handed inside information IMO that enabled them to hone in upon deficiencies in the investigations or the forensic evidence. As an aside, it seems that Estelle might've come across this deepthroat without joining those dots.

I hazard a guess that IAU hasn't looked carefully at the list of old trinitarians yet, but one name stands out that's worth considering, since he was a teacher there, as well as a student before getting a job that gave him direct access to all these investigations that have gone south. Maybe they would've gone south anyway, but my question is, were they helped along? A passing thought. Look at the list again.

Bret Christian's new book, Presumed Guilty deals with investigative processes and a number of the underlying psychological concepts often implicated in wrongful convictions - 'the confidence illusion', 'cognitive conceit' and 'confirmation bias'. Often it's the nominative process that leads to these bias's and the blindness which follows through to the courts and conviction. "Capornism". A suspect is nominated and the focus is on collecting evidence that builds the case, ignoring anything else.

The British are moving towards the eliminative process where everybody in the nation is a suspect until they can be excluded and the pool keeps shrinking towards a solid suspect. The nominative process says once you have the evidence against the suspect nominee you need not look for anything else, the eliminative process dictates that you must.

With this in mind and seeming to lack evidence to exclude, the possibility that SS was not a victim of the current accused CSK but rather may have fallen prey to elements in the established organised crime of trafficking could be reasonably explored.

In my opinion.

Ponder this. I'll get to it later, if no-one finds it.

I know exactly who you are talking about. My guess would be he later became a police officer.

He's stood down at the moment, whilst facing Court on alleged historical 1980's sexual assault charges. I believe he become a copper in the later 80's. He was certainly mentioned by Eric Ripper in 2004 speech to parliament as the Police's leading forensics expert and Hansard records the rank that Ripper mentioned as Sergeant. So presumably that status doesn't come overnight. 15 years in the job would probably be a minimum to get to that point IMO. I wouldn't of fathomed any of this being suspect until the news paper article of 2/5/17.

Someone currently before the court facing charges of alleged historical sexual assaults, and on suspension from his Police job, or someone mentioned in 2004 in WA State Parliament by a minister as WA Police's "forensics expert"???

Hi Petedavo - I did see Bret Christians name on the list of old boys of Trinity College Perth. I should have mentioned it. I wasn't sure if we are allowed to post people's names on here who are investigating the case. MOO

He's not. Bret's just a proprietor of a local community Newspaper. That seems to of had the lead on breaking news in many police cases that the well paid investigative journalists of the MSM don't seem to of been able to uncover first.

It's the other old boy from the same school, that was touted as WA's police expert in DNA forensics in 2004, which was when something happened to this evidence in the CSK case that Bret wrote about in his newspaper last year, which none of the MSM seemed to of known about. That's an interesting coincidence. One of many cases associated with people on the list I suppose that this old boy might of been working on. Maybe all that it is, just coincidence?

In 1986 the WA Police had an extraordinary amount of new recruits. Ostensibly, for the America's Cup being held in 1987. I remember the recruitment advertising in 1985. All those chosen went to the academy in 1986. There's never been anything like it since.
Although the seemingly desperate measures to recruit in the UK over the last decade may of come close.
But in 1985 many with ambitions of being in authority roles may of got their crack at it.

Does anyone know what "the critical item" from CG was that was sent away for (?LCN) DNA analysis?

1986.
Record number of new police recruits graduate from Maylands Academy in time for the 1987 America's Cup held at newly constructed Challenger harbour Fremantle.

I was told something by a Police Officer once about who graduated in that same year, as he did. As it's technically hearsay, I'll just leave this here.

But it would be nice to have some pictures from then, wouldn't it?

For those that don't believe my opinion, that Julie Cutler made up the story that she spun her parents about the car that allegedly followed her, having been made up from reading a story in an old 1986 newspaper article, ponder this....

and you tell me that her stalker is the same driver, and not a made up story based upon this article, which I think it is.
