Hmm. I wonder if it could've been something at the tip? After the City of Gosnells closed Kelvin Rd Tip in Orange Grove, did they Co share with City of Gosnells for Tip passes and rubbish truck dumping?

Petedavo,

I don't think Kelvin Rd tip has been closed for that long.

Papertrail do you know of newspaper article printed not long after GC went missing talking about a blonde man had offered another girl a lift from the Conti the night before and was seen by this woman on cctv talking to Jane inside the Conti the night she went missing?

I thought I'd read it on one of the links going back to around Feb 2016, but can't find it.

Does anyone remember this article and knows what happened to the blonde man? Thanks in advance.

The article is from the West Australian 22 March 1997. As I can't give you a link I can't post details. This is the previous post that gives part details. The second is a copy of the article headed "theories could hinder the hunt". The article starts with "THE deluge of theories about the person responsible for the disappearance of three women from Claremont - which include a rogue taxi driver and a "blond man" - are potentially harmful to the police investigation, according to Sgt Tony Potts, of the Macro task force." Then talks about a taxi driver called "Steve" the night before SS went missing, we all know that story.

Then "
Camille Maclean, 27, said she was approached by a man with blond, bobbed hair in Claremont the night before Ciara Glennon disappeared.
She was with a friend in St Quentin Avenue just after midnight when the man, who looked about 24, told her his father was a policeman and offered to drive her home.
The woman said he looked like a man with blond hair seen talking to Jane Rimmer on a security video the night she disappeared. In another report, a taxi was said to be seen driving along a bush track in a southern Perth suburb two months ago.
None of the reports has been confirmed. "

Kambo,

Thanks for the information. With regard to the Canning Vale street drags, could that perhaps have been in Bannister Rd Canning Vale. The western end which is nearer the Jandakot airport? About ten years ago, I worked in Bannister Road when WAPOL knocked on doors of the businesses. Something had been found in the vicinity and they were making inquiries. We gathered it was something belonging to one of the girls, but they provided little information. I don't have any links regarding that information.

Could be conflagration of when police were looking for evidence in this case, as it mentions that the defendant lived in CanningVale

Made a mistake that was glaringly obvious. Apologies,
The kk victims license had been reported before the dec 31st post news report .

If the perpetrator had been venturing into bedrooms, he was getting very game. Fortunately, no-one came home when he was there. JMO.

It seems BRE was drawn to a size 14 to an 18. Bit hard hey BRE trying to find clothes on a line to suit you hey? Then you had to target someone who came close . Bad luck you found it a bit hard, hey. Hopping over fences etc mate?

Today is Ciara's birthday.
Happy Birthday Ciara.
May you rest in peace.

PCS - Where did u get those sizings from?
Are you referring to the alleged stolen Kimono?

Because otherwise I'm guessing:
CG appeared to be size 6-8.
JR looked about size 10-12.
And if BRE was also (allegedly) responsible for SS's disappearance, then SS was probably size 10-12.

The article in blue was from the West Australian titled "Ciara Hunt Targets Secret Video Man " on 2 April 1997.

The other article is from the West Australian titled "Chill Hits With New Chapter In Crime" by Mark Irving on 22 March 1997.

It should be noted the article also mentions "A 17-year-old was attacked in February 1995 while walking home.
Her assailant was driving a light-coloured panel van and was described as 183cm tall, of medium to solid build with brown, collar-length hair. He has not been caught.

In the early hours of New Year's Day 1994, a man dragged a woman from her car after she left the same club, and tried to rape her. "

I'm reading this when the Telstra Tech comes knocking at the door. (I've had no landline since Friday and the internet went off yesterday.) I've been arguing with Telstra that it's not ME or my equipment, they are trying to get me to agree to pay $130 before they even confirm the problem. I tell them check from the exchange up to my house and if you haven't found the fault you can come inside and check.

The Tech is outside pressing a hand held gadget then says the fault is 250 mtrs down the street. He goes off to fix it then comes in to check my phone is now operating and leaves.

As he pulls out I'm looking at his panel van equivalent which is basically the same set up as no. 3 sons work ute with the doors that open up of the sides and back. I'm thinking there's no way he could get me in there,

a. I'm bigger than he was
b. He would never get by my dog
c. He could never stuff me in the compartments.

Hopefully the change in work vehicles has made the likelihood of random abduction less.

Before I thought about the timing of the articles, I looked at the 2014 streetview of 344 Acton and thought any of those could be considered a work van. Timing is however 19 years later. It may also be a Telstra Hilux style vehicle.

Thanks for finding that blue article DRT. It's very similar to the article I was looking for. I think papertrail originally posted it and i'm sure I saw crabby post it again around Feb -April 2016 when I followed one of the links back.

Can't find it again at the moment. It goes further with the blonde haired guy as it says the witness that saw him the night CG disappeared also saw him on cctv talking to Jane inside the Conti, the night she disappeared. She was named in the article.

Having read through some of the CCC documents or Inquiries on Q1 and Q2, Mallard and another involving Caporn, I'm suspicious that this has been buried by him to protect someone.

Maybe innocent, maybe not?

What a good description. Trying to describe someone could be quite difficult, especially when the incident happens at night time.

I was wondering - and given my experience of lawyers and the law is restricted to movies and tv shows, thought maybe someone may have a more accurate idea! -
do accusees usually tell the truth to their lawyers, and confess if guilty, even if pleading not guilty?
Or do they maintain their innocence even to their lawyer?
I would think their lawyer would have a fairly good idea of their client's guilt or innocence regardless of whether their client fesses up?

All just musings and speculations! But wondering what really happens vs what you see in movies!

Have read stories and asked this question to many lawyers over the years with a variety of responses. The most common seemed to be that the lawyer won't ask whether the client is guilty. Typically they ask for the clients version of events and base the defence on this. Once the client tells you they are guilty you can really only work towards ensuring they receive a fair trial and that due process is followed rather than launching a defence case that you know is not true. I'm sure there are plenty of defence lawyers that would still do it though.

A lawyer will tell his client not to plead either way until they know the prosecution case he will then tell the client if he thinks it is a no case, a weak case or a strong case.

If the accused did it and tells his lawyer he did it then the lawyer has to advise him to plead guilty but will do his best to find mitigating circumstances (obviously not always possible) If the police have a watertight case the lawyer will advise the client to plead guilty early on as that can cut time off any sentance.

If he didn't do it then the client and lawyer have to find evidence and witnesses to refute the charge or list of charges.

It is up to the police to prove you did the crime therein lies a problem.

I was supporting a young man charged with abusing his much younger half brothers who were living with their father. The police had witness statements from father, stepmother and 2 boys aged 4 and 6 at the designated time. Long story short we had proof that he wasn't in the state for at least a year before the allege time frame and a year after. The case went to the Magistrates Court, then because of the severity of the charges automatically went to the District Court. A year after the man was charged the DPP finally dropped the case as by this time there was so much evidence (discover-able documents and holes in the police witness statements) to refute the charges.

After 5 yrs the boys were suddenly dumped back to the mother, they have told her they were made to tell the police a false story and the one now 13 has given a police video/audio interview to that effect. The father and stepmother have committed perjury we can't get the police to act on it.

As for lawyers A Few Good Men then 50 Shades of Grey.
