Barry didn't show up for work Thursday. Likely because he was dead. They were found Friday.

Sorry, Thursday. But if they made calls all day Thursday that would show that something was off.

But you're just inventing this, making it up in your imagination. No facts, no evidence, no relationship to reality. Who are these child trafficking hush killers? Or the Clinton suicide fixers. The Big Pharma death squads.

You might as well just say it was a spaceship landed on the roof and the Martians used their special powers to pass through walls. Or a witch came down the chimney and used a magic spell to hypnotize them.

Something else : Honey was about to leave for Florida, and her husband was to stay behind, and leave later. If Barry was killed for revenge, either from a familial standpoint, or a business related standpoint, why did the killer(s) not wait until Honey had left ? Why kill her ? Could this have a different motive ? I'll repeat :It is sociopathic, if this was murder. jmo

I am quoting this post but cringe at the poor choice of words considering the CS.I read this post early in the thread. I didn't really think too much about it. But after reading the Fortune Maginze article from 1999~I don't know?Could he have ____ ?

Last night I read this Fortune Magazine dated 1999.I now more than ever suspect Barry knew there was freight train coming towards him with 'LE Investigation' boldly written on the side.Perhaps he just ____?This is just my opinion.

Drug Spies Piracy is the pharmaceutical industry's dirty little secret; fighting back has become its dirty little war. With the stakes this high, there are no rules, no conventions. But that doesn't mean there haven't been prisoners.

But litigating isn't Sherman's only talent. In 1995 he was nailed for importing a generic version of Prozac--the antidepression cure-all patented by Lilly--directly to U.S. customers through a mail-order system involving a Bahamian front company. The scheme was done without FDA approval and led to Apotex's signing a plea agreement with the feds. By that time, other drug companies had come forward with similar complaints about Sherman. The word was that Sherman was knocking off ciprofloxacin, Bayer's antibiotic, in Mexico, as well as Merck's cholesterol-reducing lovostatin, in China. "Sherman was a thorn in the side for most multinationals, and Smith was prepared to do anything to bring about his demise," says Flack. "Sherman would tie up the multinationals for years in litigation, while he was carrying on producing drugs and making millions. Smith had been chasing him for years. He hated Sherman. Sherman was like Adolf Hitler to him."
Sherman, pointing to his $80 million R&D budget, denies violating any patents. But Smith, acting on Bayer's behalf, was certainly convinced: "Smith wanted us to infiltrate the company," says Whybrow, "put a half kilo of coke in [Sherman's] trunk, and get him stopped by a police contact we have [in Canada]." Flack says that another option Smith suggested was setting Sherman up in a sex sting with an underage partner. Smith tells FORTUNE that if he made any of these comments, it was in the context of "joking over a pint of beer." But Flack says his boss was "deadly serious" and "desperate," and that he and Whybrow were fully prepared to carry out the frame-ups. "I was well paid by Bayer to seek out Barry Sherman's demise," says Flack, "and if that's what it took, then so be it."

Drug prices are way cheaper in Canada.

In MN, the man who is Governor now, Mark Dayton, the multimillionaire son of the family that started Target, brought senior citizens by bus to Canada when he was a US Senator. It was to get them cheaper drugs and protest the high cost of drugs.

Many drugs are manufactured in India and Mexico.

Although Barry was getting rich, his generics are a blessing to many people

I think this was staged to look like a double suicide. If it was a double murder or murder suicide, who would benefit from it being determined a double suicide? Who would be most negatively affected by a double suicide?

I'm still on the fence but back to leaning toward murder suicide.

Where did you read about the high number of break-ins in the area?

Unrelated to the case, but keeping in mind, fwiw. imo, speculation.

December 4, 2017 A community safety meeting was held in North York’s Bridle Path area to address about 160 break-and-enters that led to millions of dollars’ worth of valuables stolen since the beginning of the year.

“I think there are a lot of savvy burglars in our neighbourhood and they have found a way – probably watching when people are leaving, coming and going and they pick the right time,” he said.
Greco said neighbours should be talking to each other about seeing anything suspicious nearby.
“If they see suspicious activity then the police can get a heads up, other residents can get a heads up and then from there we can address the problem before it’s too late.”

This is a story about missing millions, stately mansions on the Bridle Path, broken business relationships and an alleged death threat. It features a cast of characters operating in the world of real estate and private loans. Among them is Vakili, a promising young lawyer now on the lam; a businessman who bought the largest home in Canada and who in the past has been charged with several violent crimes though never convicted; his former business associate — a wealthy woman who accuses both of them of defrauding her family — and a shell-shocked husband searching for answers.

Florida police ID Toronto couple found dead in townhouse
Deaths considered double homicide after bodies found by concerned neighbour

It really could be as simple as Honey wanting something else in life. The hair and work out trainer (who knows this could be normal, but for some reason was reported.) Honey going to Florida earlier, which could be normal too. My ex Inlaws always travelled apart. But who knows maybe she wanted something else in life and Barry just wasn't having any of it.
All speculation on my part. Moo. And all that jazz. The coats still have me puzzled though if Barry did this. Unless he wanted it staged. Idk. Jmo again.

I have never witnessed a hanging.. but when you see them depicted in movies it always shows the body shaking and legs flailing. If their jackets were not done up then of course they would slide off their shoulders and down their arms in the back. I just can't imagine someone bothering to take the time to 'hang' both of them. Whats the point?? IMO

Having read through all 46 pages here, I can only come to one conclusion; this was a hit, perpetrated by a person or persons with inside information on the house and security system. Probably family related. Greed. If the police don't, or won't solve it, follow the money. Possibly politics involved, I saw Trudeau fundraising mentioned, so it may stay as mysterious as the JFK assassination or Building 7. Not safe to go there.

This article is very informative as to facts so far, http://torontosun.com/news/local-news/warmington-mystery-shrouds-deaths-of-billionaire-couple

Something nobody mentioned in the article is Steve Paikin's tweet, later deleted, that he had “heard from a trusted source that an alleged law enforcement investigation was closing in on the Shermans.”. Interesting.

But if you are not wanting to be hung, then, how would it be explained?

Pushed forward and held in place until unconscious. Forced at gunpoint to comply. I’m still on the fence about whether this was a double suicide, murder/suicide or double murder. But I don’t see anything impossible about any scenario with what we know so far. I still want to know why LE said Sunny was killed elsewhere and brought to the pool, especially since ligature is the COD on both. But it could have been done IMO.

Either by more than 1 perp, or having someone point a gun at your head, or both ? Which leaves us with why hanging at all ?

My feeling is it was PERSONAL and a professional hit done with very specific instructions from the Contractee on how and where the bodies were to be left.

The result being 1. the death of Honey & Barry, 2. Cloudy disrepute for their legacy overshadowed by whispers of 'suicide' and 'murder', 3. Depreciate the value of their house being sold

The way I understand it, pharmaceuticals are protected by patents for a certain number of years, generally 20 years in the US. During that time the company that holds the patent has a monopoly and can pretty much name their price. Once the patent expires, anyone can make and market that drug. It sounds simple enough but different National laws and international agreements make things not quite so clear and there are billions of dollars in court costs (usually lawyer fees) spent quibbling over when a generic drug is no longer covered by a patent and when it can be marketed in a particular country.

Barry Sherman’s strategy was to “push” his generics into markets perhaps a little early and risk being sued for patent violation and having to pay serious restitution on the assumption that he would recoup these costs by giving his company a head start in establishing a market for these drugs before competitors moved in. Some might consider it a bit sleazy since it is essentially deliberately violating the law. Others might see it as “ just business”. If nothing else, his business probably reduced the costs of prescription drugs for Canadians and perhaps others around the world.

Had someone working for one of the Big Pharm companies “taken him out” 25 years ago, perhaps the spread of the Generic Drug industry world wide would have been slowed but the “horse as been out of the barn” for a long time and Sherman had little to do with the policies of his company. Killing him as part of some Pharmaceutical Industry effort seems extremely unlikely.

Compared to a gunshot in a neighborhood, it’s quiet and they would not be discovered as soon. This goes for all scenarios. Why not drugs? That would only work if it’s a double suicide. Hanging may also have a symbolism aspect to it that we are not aware of.

Hard to even think too much on this since the source is unknown, but it is somewhat interesting that the “trusted source” said that an investigation was closing in on “the Shermans” and not just Barry, or his company. That would seem to implicate that Honey as well, although it appears unlikely, would have been involved in whatever was being investigated.

But with the unknown validity of the source and whether the quote has been correctly requoted, etc, the meaning of this could be irrelevant.

According to this article, the police could not confirm about the men's belts being used and jackets pulled onto the Shermans' arms.

I know that this is a standard response which the police do make during investigations. The Daily Mail seems to have gathered the information from the Toronto Sun.

In my opinion, if the "sources" are reliable and if jackets were pulled back onto the Sherman's arms, then it appears to be a double homicide.

It all depends on these "sources" and whether the information is correct or not. We will see.

From article:

"When contacted by DailyMail.com, a spokesperson for the Toronto Police said that the department could not confirm any of the claims made by these sources."

He provided millions to the cousins. His patience was over with them. Just throwing money down the toilet

Instead of gold toilets and tons of fancy cars, he gave his money away.
I respect his philanthropy a great deal. It's very admirable, but I resist the notion that it defines you as a good person.
He wasn't legally bound to carry over the original agreement from the first company to Apotex, but in my humble opinion, I think he should have honoured it. I think that's what you do for family, and especially for 4 kids who's lives were in shambles. Later in life they did reconnect, and he did support them financially, but I think they would have faired much better to have been supported in their childhood, given jobs, and a percentage of the company. With everything else I'm also reading, he just doesn't sound that peachy.

None of this ultimately matters, I'm not passing judgement on the victims, just stating my observations, and how I'm reading the environment. Whatever happened to them, it's heinous, and undeserved in any way. The cousins sound very dark and quite capable of this. If it ends up being suicide, I'd be curious to figure out what drove him to it. I don't believe Honey would have been a willing participant. JMO.

Hi MFH,

I certainly agree. A "source" can be credible... or not.

They make silencers now that render gunshots, well, silent. Here's what I mean about these murders (if that's what they are ) being sociopathic : the amount of time with the victims. One shot behind the ear of each victim, and then leave. As opposed to spending who knows how much time spent with each victim before they died. It is really interesting that Honey was not killed in the poolhouse. Why not ? Did the killer want some time alone with her ?

Also : was anything of value taken ? Wonder what Honey and Barry's wills look like. ?
