Estelle Mouzin's family, who disappeared in January 2003, asked the judges who are hearing their case to hear Nordahl Lelandais' hearing, BFMTV learned. The latter is indicted for murder in the case of the disappearance of Arthur Noyer last April, and for murder preceded by another crime (kidnapping and kidnapping) in the case Maëlys.

The request was made to the judges by the lawyers of Estelle Mouzin's parents on September 8th, in writing. The magistrates instructors have since contacted the judges who are investigating in Grenoble on the case Maëlys.

Estelle vanished in 2003.

Serial suspect:

Other elements implicate him indirectly: why this search on the internet with the key words "decomposition of a human body" on April 25, 13 days after the disappearance of Arthur Noyer, why throw his shorts away during the wedding party from where Maelys disappeared, why clean thoroughly his vehicle the day after this evening. So many questions to which Nordahl Lelandais has always provided a plausible answer, while denying his involvement. In the disappearance of the young soldier, he just admitted having been present in Chambéry in the night of 11 to 12 April before observing his right to silence.

"At the moment we are dealing with a serial suspect (...), believes Dominique Rizet, BFMTV police-justice specialist, who has done everything possible to escape from the technical and scientific police. He has the mechanics in his brain to answer everything."

Investigators are now looking to see if they have a serial killer in front of them, despite the diversity of victim profiles. "We are still gathering the evidence, the clues that could link Nordahl Lelandais to the discovery of this skull. The elements are still emerging from the unknown," says Benjamin Gayrard, Secretary General of the National Staff Union scientific police, while "verifications" will be carried out in, at least, two files. That of the disappearance, last July, Adrien Mourialmé, a Belgian cook of 24 years, who had just been hired in a restaurant in Talloires, Haute-Savoie, and the case of the killing of Chevaline in which five people were killed in 2012.

"The more a person is going to implement a technique to become invisible, the more they will attract attention, warns the member of the technical and scientific police, the fact that he has cut off his phone and washed his car... elements that led us to what he was trying to erase. "

Under what circumstances and when did Corporal Noyer die?

If Nordahl Lelandais is indicted for murder, it is not known for the moment what caused the death of Arthur Noyer or if he was killed on the night of his disappearance. These are remains of his skull that were found in the forest. Asked whether the skull showed signs of violence or chemicals, the public prosecutor said it was "premature to answer at this stage of the investigation."

What about the remains of his body?

Only remains of the skull have been found. It is unlikely that within eight months the body will have decomposed at this point. Has the Corporal's body been dismembered and dispersed post-mortem? No items filtered yesterday at the press conference. In the days following the night of April 11 to 12, Nordahl Lelandais repeatedly typed on the Internet the request "decomposition of a human body".

Did they know each other?

Telephony and CCTV show that Lelandais and Arthur Noyer were in the same places and at the same time that night. The investigators did not provide information on the circumstances of their meeting. Was it planned or fortuitous? Corporal Noyer seemed to want to hitchhike back to the barracks. Did Lelandais approach him at that moment? According to the information of Dauphiné Libéré, connections between the two men appeared on social networks.

"This is a normal check, a step that is necessarily made when there is a kidnapping of a girl," said the family lawyer to AFP. "I think it's going to be done, you have to check the telephony to see if he was in the area at that time," he added.

Estelle Mouzin has not given any sign of life since 2003. Originally from Guermantes, in Seine-et-Marne, the girl, aged nine, disappeared while returning from school. So far, the investigation has never been successful. BFMTV reports that that year, Nordahl Lelandais was serving (in the military) 150 kilometers from where Estelle lived.

Links between Nordahl Lelandais and Jean-Christophe Morin?

While France 3 told us that Ahmed Hamadou, who died in 2012, knew Nordahl Lelandais "by sight", having lived in the same district as him, France Bleu Pays de Savoie informs us that "the family of Nordhal Lelandais had recent contacts with the family of Jean-Christophe Morin ". The sister of the young man who disappeared at a music festival in 2011, says: "The name of Nordhal does not tell me anything but the one of his brother yes.Sven Lelandais called me about a year ago, to learn about a seasonal job ". France Bleu, who wonders if this is a "surprising coincidence", tried to contact the brother of Nordahl Lelandais, without success.

The family of Nordhal Lelandais had recent contacts with the family of Jean-Christophe Morin, a young man of 22 who disappeared the evening of September 9, 2011 at the Element II electro festival at Tamié Fort in Albertville, Savoie.

"His brother Sven Lelandais called me about a year ago" - Adeline Morin, the sister of one of the disappeared Tamie in Savoy

Jean-Christophe Morin's sister who takes care of the seasonal area of the Mont Blanc region, says: "The name of Nordhal does not tell me anything but on the other hand that of his brother yes Sven Lelandais contacted me there about a year, to learn about a seasonal job ". Specifically, in 2016, Sven Lelandais contacted her first by Facebook. Adeline Morin finds him a place as a seasonal worker and then a few weeks later Sven Lelandais comes to talk to her at a party of seasonal workers to thank her. For now, Sven Lelandais is unreachable. Impossible to know if this is a surprising coincidence.

THE CASES IN WHICH THE NAME OF NORDAHL LELANDAIS IS MENTIONED

France Info
https://www.francetvinfo.fr/faits-d...ais-est-mis-en-cause-ou-suspecte_2524289.html

The Maëlys case has turned into a Nordahl Lelandais affair. The number one suspect in the kidnapping and murder of this girl, who disappeared during a marriage in Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Isère) last August, is now under investigation in another case: the murder of a military officer, Arthur Noyer, who has not given any sign of life since the night of 11 to 12 April. Although the body of the child has still not been recovered, the DNA of the corporal was identified on part of a skull that was found in September by a hiker.

In addition to these two files, the name of this 34 year old dog handler is now quoted in several cold cases. No wonder, according to Annecy's attorney, Véronique Denizot. "In the hypothesis that Nordahl Lelandais is a serial criminal, all possible connections with other unsolved cases in the same geographical area will be explored," the magistrate explained to franceinfo.

Here are, at this stage, the cases in which Nordahl Lelandais is implicated and those that will be re-examined, in search of a possible link with the ex-military.

Maëlys, 9 years old, disappeared at Pont-de-Beauvoisin in August 2017

The facts. It is 2:45 a. m., according to the prosecutor of Grenoble, when little Maëlys, 9 years old, vanishes from the party hall of Pont-de-Beauvoisin (Savoie), where a wedding is celebrated. She has never reappeared since the night of August 26-27. Nordahl Lelandais is one of the guests and has been seen several times chatting with the girl, showing her pictures of his dogs on his mobile phone.

The link with Nordahl Lelandais. He is indicted for "kidnapping and sequestration" followed by "murder". At "2h46 and 12 seconds", the former soldier puts his telephone in "plane mode", according to the prosecutor of Grenoble. At 2:47 am, a car corresponding to his Audi A3 is filmed in the city centre of Pont-de-Beauvoisin. According to the prosecution, the surveillance cameras distinguish "on the front passenger seat (...) a frail, small figure dressed in a white dress". "At 3:24 and 29 seconds, the vehicle is again filmed in opposite direction. The driver is then alone in the car," the prosecutor says.

Among the other items that weigh on the ex-military, are the presence of the child's DNA on the dashboard of the car and the meticulous cleaning of the vehicle the day after the party. Yet, Nordahl Lelandais denies it en bloc. His lawyer, Alain Jakubowicz, formally contests the prosecutor's chronology: "We know with near certainty that no one is worried about Maëlys' disappearance until 3:30 a. m." he argues. However,"the prosecution's whole accusation is based on the assumption that the child disappeared at 2:45 a. m." According to him, the silhouette in the front of the car is not that of a child but of a woman.

Arthur Noyer, 23 years old, disappeared in April 2017 in Chambéry

The facts. This young corporal was last seen around 4 a. m. on the night of April 11 to 12, while hitchhiking in Chambéry (Savoie). He tries to reach his barracks in Barby, a few kilometres away, after spending the evening in a nightclub in a lively part of the city. For months, his family stirred heaven and earth to try to find him. His DNA has been identified.

The link with Nordahl Lelandais. He's being indicted for murder. Chambéry's prosecutor, Thierry Dran, pointed to "serious and consistent clues". The first troubling element: the telephones of the former dog-handler and the soldier "bounded" in the same place and at the same time between 23:48 and 3:41. Then, Arthur Noyer's cell phone went off at the end of the night, approximately around 5am. According to Le Parisien, a witness reportedly saw Nordahl Lelandais in the discotheque where the soldier was last seen. One of his former girlfriends also says he was a regular visitor to the establishment. Another key point of the investigation: "The video surveillance footage showed that the vehicle of Lelandais[a black Audi A3] was at 2h58 in Chambéry, then at 3h08 on the commune of Saint-Baldoph," the prosecutor said.

The suspect contested "all the facts while admitting to have been in Chambéry and Saint-Baldoph" at the same time as the corporal the night of his disappearance.
New investigations will be carried out at the site where the bone was discovered. Solicited by franceinfo, lawyer Alain Jakubowicz did not wish to comment on this new case.

Adrien Mourialmé, 24 years old, disappeared in July 2017 on the shores of Lake Annecy.

The facts. On 5 July, Adrien Mourialmé, a young Belgian cook employed in a hotel and restaurant in Talloires-Montmin (Haute-Savoie), on the shores of Lake Annecy, does not show up for work. Originally from Namur, the 24-year-old young man, a former employee of a candidate from the "Top Chef" show, has just landed this job in June, in order to set aside money to open his own business. In Le Parisien, his mother Patricia explains that her last telephone conversation with her son was on July 4. That day, this hiking enthusiast says he took "great pictures of the area". Then it's radio silence.

Adrien Mourialmé seems to have vanished without taking his belongings with him. "He only took a few clothes, a little backpack and a pair of sneakers. His suitcase, hiking shoes and kitchen gear remained in his hotel room," his mother explains in the Ile-de-France newspaper. Neither his phone nor his bank account have since then showed any movement. The Annecy Public Prosecutor's Office opens a judicial inquiry on 8 July. Since then, the cook's family has had no new information.

The link with Nordahl Lelandais. The geographical and temporal proximity with the disappearances of the Maëlys girl and 23-year-old Arthur Noyer's soldier warrant verification, the prosecutor of Annecy told franceinfo. But at this stage, no link is established.

Ahmed Hamadou, 45, disappeared in September 2012 at Fort Tamié.

The facts. It is 5 a. m., in the night of September 7 to 8, below Fort Tamié, about ten kilometres from Albertville (Savoie), when Ahmed Hamadou was last seen. That evening, the electro rhythms resonate in these 19th century fortifications in the heart of the Alps. This is the third edition of the Elements festival. Ahmed Hamadou is accompanied by another man, Yan Kersuzan.

"They were skidding in the parking lot and behaving aggressively. Security did not let them enter the site and even warned the local gendarmerie. They never came to the party," according to David de Sousa, festival organizer, to the Dauphiné Liberé. After this argument and in these fuzzy circumstances, Yan and Ahmed split up. In the early morning, Yan returns with his car to a common friend in Chambéry, reports Le Dauphiné Libéré. Ahmed, on the other hand, vanishes into thin air.

His family is very worried. A year earlier, Jean-Christophe Morin, a 23-year-old young man, disappeared at the same place during the second edition of the festival. The search had to be abandoned. The two cases, which were heard by two different gendarmeries, those of Sallanches and Albertville, were never reconciled because of a lack of concurring evidence.

The link with Nordahl Lelandais. A cousin of Ahmed Hamadou's cousin, Abdallah Hamadou, assured France 3 that Nordahl and Ahmed "knew each other by sight". The two men lived a few kilometres apart. Farida Hamadou, Ahmed's sister, is waiting for a lot of new checks, according to France 2, by the gendarmes to establish or not a link with the former dog-handler.

Jean-Christophe Morin, 23, disappeared in September 2011 at Fort Tamié.

The facts. It is about 3 a. m. in the night of September 9 to 10, when a last witness sees Jean-Christophe Morin leaving the second edition of the Elements festival, at Fort de Tamié (Savoie). This 23-year-old young man, who lives in Sallanches, had come with friends. According to France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, he seems to be worried at the time of his departure. Three days later, his girlfriend and older sister, with no news, reported him missing. The searches carried out a few days later do not yield anything. Dogs scour the area, but they can't find him. Only his backpack was found near a container at the end of September.

In October, the gendarmes flew over the area in a helicopter and then continued to explore with the help of a dog team. Volunteers are involved in the searches. In vain. Investigations carried out by the Albertville gendarmerie were interrupted, but the investigation remained open to the Sallanches brigade. "In the weeks that followed the disappearance of Jean-Christophe Morin, everything was carried out in every detail, even to the point of retrieving his DNA trace," an investigator tells the Dauphiné Libéré. "We hoped the hunters would find new elements, but nothing. Today, he remains on the missing persons list", another gendarme assures in the local daily newspaper.

In 2013, Jean-Christophe Morin's family covered 600 km from the Essonne in order to go back on his last steps. Her sister Adeline stirred "heaven and earth", distributed flyers, glued posters, created a page on Facebook... No result.

The link with Nordahl Lelandais. According to France 2, investigations will be re-launched in view of the geographical proximity of this disappearance with the places frequented by Nordahl Lelandais. "Jean-Christophe Morin's father, contacted by franceinfo, reacted on the phone. Daniel Morin had not yet been informed by the gendarmes on Wednesday, December 20, of this possible connection. "If they reopen the case, it's already a big step forward," he says.

Other unresolved cases, including Estelle Mouzin and the Chevaline killings

The work by the interviewers to cross-check with other cold cases should not stop there. A possible involvement of Nordahl Lelandais in the Chevaline killings (Haute-Savoie) is even envisaged by the investigators. A few days before Ahmed Hamadou's disappearance, the British Al-Hilli family is on vacation on the shores of Lake Annecy. On 5 September 2012, on a logging road, the father, mother and grandmother were found shot dead in their car. A French cyclist who was passing by was also among the victims. After five years of investigation, the murderer has still not been identified. The trail of a former soldier was evoked by the gendarmes at the time because the murder weapon, a 7.65 caliber Luger P06, is a pistol that equipped the Swiss army.

"We have an individual suspected of kidnapping and killing a girl and a soldier in the same area. I am not surprised that we are going to check if he is not related to Chevaline", a judicial source points out to franceinfo. "We will obviously look into the matter," the prosecutor from Annecy , Véronique Denizot, confirms. She added: "But there are other priority files, which correspond more to the same modus operandi, with a disappearance at night." "If he were behind Chevaline, he'd be really multi-card [ jack of many trades ] ," another judge adds, doubtful. After the two unexplained disappearances at Fort Tamié, the investigators of the Chevaline killings had already brought the three cases together to see if, beyond the close geography and the concordance of the dates, nothing else could tie them together. But, as the local newspaper Le Messager reports, this track had not yielded anything.

Beyond Savoie and Haute-Savoie, the gendarmes should scrutinize unresolved cases in the Marne sector. Nordahl Lelandais was stationed in Suippes, in the 132nd Army Dog Battalion, between 2002 and 2007. The lawyers of Estelle Mouzin's father, who disappeared in January 2003 in Guermantes (Seine-et-Marne), 170 km away, tell franceinfo that they asked the judges in September for checks on Nordahl Lelandais.

"When we went back to Michel Fourniret's career, we checked the whole of France," Véronique Denizot comments. "One and the same investigation unit, mobilising gendarmes from different geographical units, could therefore be dedicated to Nordahl Lelandais, as has been done for Francis Heaulme, nicknamed the "criminal backpacker."

Hi, this is my first time posting on Websleuths, but I've been following this case for a while and due to the recent developments, I decided to get involved. So basically, here's a round-up of the "serial killer" accusations and theory that has recently emerged. From what I can see, Nordahl Lelandais is a suspect in, and in my opinion, is definitely connected to in some form:

Disappearance of Maelys De Araujo

A 9-year-old girl who vanished from a wedding party on August 27, 2017, in Pont-de-Beauvoisin. Her scent was followed by police dogs to the parking lot of the wedding venue, where they then found Maely's DNA on the dashboard of the Audi that belonged to Nordahl Lelandais, who was a guest at the wedding and who was seen talking to Maelys, while her mother was present, about his dogs. Later on that evening, NL supposedly let the girl, into his Audi to see his dogs and then they both went back to the party. Maelys De Araujo vanished shortly after this. --- To me this makes no sense and seems very creepy, considering that this man is 34 years old and has even got Maelys to call him a "friend", supposedly. NL has been charged with the murder of Maelys and is considered the prime suspect and I personally believe he definitely abducted and murdered Maelys sadly... His whole story just simply doesn't check out.

Arthur Noyer (Murder)

A soldier in the French forces, who went missing in April 2017, after hitchhiking (like both Jean-Christophe and Ahmed), from a disco in the Chambery area of France. On September 7, 2017, his skull was found in Montmelian, Savoy. Perhaps Montmelian is the serial killer's dumping grounds? I believe the two may have known each other, as NL was an army dog handler and may have met Arthur Noyer, during his time in the military? So far, all the possible victims have known the killer in some aspect, and have gone missing in the same area of France = all circumstantial evidence (apart from Maelys DNA and they must have some physical evidence in Arthur Noyer 's case?), which leads me to believe NL to be the probable killer of all FOUR possible victims. Oh, not to forget the fact that NL, researched on how to get rid of a body, shortly after his disappearance? NL also went to the same disco that the victim went to on the night in question and his Audi was seen in the area. Coincidence? I think not.

Jean-Christophe Morin (Disappearance)

A 22-year-old man who disappeared at a music festival at Fort Tamie, in 2011 on the 9-10th September. He was last seen at 3: AM, around the same time Maelys, disappeared in 2017. According to Jean-Christophe's family, they don't know NL but were aware of his brother, Sven Lelandais, who called the sister of Jean-Christophe about a "seasonal job". This seems too much of a coincidence that NL is connected to both the Maelys case and the murdered soldier, Arthur Noyer, and his family is also connected to another missing man? I really do think that NL might be involved in this, just based on there being too many coincidences. Knowing and speaking to one murdered man and one missing girl, grouped with a family connection to Jean-Christophe just doesn't sit right with me.Apparently, he was last seen hitchhiking close to the venue of the music festival.

Ahmed Hamadou (Disappearance)

A 45 (?) year old man who disappeared at the SAME, Fort Tamie, music festival as Jean-Christophe, but a year later, on 8-9 September 2012. He was also last seen hitchhiking close to the music venue like Jean-Christophe was in 2011. Apparently, Ahmed Hamadou only lived 5 MINS away from NL, which is quite close to Pont-de-Beauvoisin, where Maelys disappeared from. Living 5 mins away from this potential killer means it's a high probability that Ahmed knew of NL.These cases of AH and J-CM are too similar and eerie to not be related, so maybe NL is a serial killer? It would make sense as the disappearances of Ahmed Hamadou, Jean-Christophe Morin, Arthur Noyer and Maelys De Araujo, ARE all within a few miles of each other in or close to the Chambery area, where NL used to live with his parents. This could be the serial killer's comfort zone?

The sources for all the info above, if you wanna read: http://www.leparisien.fr/faits-dive...-du-militaire-retrouve-20-12-2017-7464123.php, http://www.linternaute.com/actualit...l-affaire-maelys-a-la-piste-du-serial-killer/, and http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-42443373.

Less-likely links

Okay, now we go onto the vague accusations, that I believe could be involved with NL, but are way more unlikely than the ones listed above, as they do not fit NL's MO of hitchhiking, or a scene of a party (wedding party, disco, music festival) or the dark skin of the victims - (Maelys, Arthur Noyer, Jean-Christophe Morin and Ahmed Hamadou). These unlikely but possible cases are:

Estelle Mouzin

Another sad case that is similar to Maelys De Araujo, Estelle disappeared on January 9, 2003. (NL would've been 19 years old, which is why I find it improbable?). Estelle was 9 years old and around the same age of Maelys at the time of disappearance. She vanished on returning home from school in Guermantes, France, which is 5 hours away from Chambery, so I think it's more likely that he was not involved at all in this disappearance. In fact, another serial killer, Michel Fourniret seems like the most likely suspect as he was found to have photos of Estelle on his computer and described what she was wearing on the day that she went missing. However, if NL was in the army at 19 years old, could he have been posted to Guermantes? I've not managed to find that out yet and there doesn't seem to be any info on where NL was brought up, so I'm just assuming he was born and raised near the Chambery area. I think the only reason why this case was mentioned in relation to NL is that of the similarities in age and possibly appearance between Estelle and Maelys.

The two remaining cases are of Adrien Mourialmé, a 24-year-old Belgian student, who disappeared whilst hiking in the Alps, in July 2017 at Lake Annecy. Although Lake Annecy is only an hour or so from Pont-de-Beauvoisin, the circumstances are different from that of the M.O. of parties and dark-skinned French people. However, due to the close proximity, it can't be ruled out. Adrien worked as a chef at a hotel in Haute-Savoie, only an hour away from Chambery, so it's possible Adrien might have met NL during his work at the Talloires-Montmin area hotel in Haute-Savoie. The last case and the one which drew me into Websleuths, are the killings of the Al-Hilli family (Saad, Iqbal Al-Hilli, and Suhaila Al-Allaf) and a French cyclist, by gunfire from a military type rifle on September 5, 2012. This occurred in the Alps, like Adrien Mourialme's case and due to NL being an ex-military member and his presumed serial killings of dark-skinned French people, this is under consideration to be tied in. The Al-Hilli family were from Britain and were holidaying in France when they were killed. Maybe NL could've met them in the hotel they were staying in. Or was it just a random, sporadic attack, due to rising Islamophobia?

Thanks for reading and sorry if this is too long for a Websleuths post? -- Also maybe we should have a sub-forum on the potential serial killings in the Chambery area of France if that's possible?

The above is Jean-Christophe Morin (L) and Ahmed Hamadou (R). Note how they are both quite dark? Maybe this is the SK's preferred type of person.

I'm so sad young Maëlys has not been found yet but this case is getting more fascinating every day.

I'm so sad young Maëlys has not been found yet but this case is getting more fascinating every day.

I agree !, I always thought it was a bit crazy that LE knew he went missing from the Wedding for approx. 30 min that night for a total time gone & which direction (had her w/when leaving & no longer w/when returning), and that they weren't able to come up with a valid enough search area to effectively find her (even if, and the likelihood being, that she was deceased when he returned to the party.) Then again, from what I understand, (and I could be wrong), he had an additional 3hrs later, prior to LE being clued in enough on him as a suspect, and they were able to stop and finally picked him up, so that add'l time would expand their search area even more...AND, (Sadly), I've seen plenty of cases where the missing person was finally located only 1/2 -3 miles or so from their home and/or where they originally went missing (camp ground/t
ent/car/wherever/etc..), so..*shrugs* definitely, can happen & ppl get overlooked, but still, it's oh soo Frustrating!!...

I truly hope that the Loved Ones, Families, & Friends of those Murdered or Missing in the Region get answers and find a bit or a sense of justice SOON!!...

The TRUTH WILL OUT!, and There will be a Reckoning, in this Life or the Next!

LOIRE: PARENTS OF ADRIEN FIORELLO, STUDENT MISSING SINCE 2010 WANT TO EXTEND THE INVESTIGATION INTO NORDAHL LELANDAIS

France Info
https://france3-regions.francetvinf...sement-enquete-nordhal-lelandais-1389429.html

Adrien-est-parti-sans-rien-dire-il-y-a-trois-ans.jpg

Investigations into unresolved cases of disappearances in Savoie in 2011 and 2012 are being re-launched, following the discovery of disturbing elements concerning Corporal Noyer's case. In the Loire, a family requests that the case of their son who disappeared in 2010 be examined.

Nordahl Lelandais, already suspected of killing little Maëlys in August in Isère, was indicted Wednesday for the murder of corporal Arthur Noyer, who disappeared in Savoie in April. Since then, two other disappearances in 2011 and 2012 in the same department are of interest to investigators.

In the light of this event, many "cold cases" are re-emerging, unresolved cases that families would like to see re-examined to see if Nordhal Lelandais could have played a role.

In this case, there is in particular the family of Adrien Fiorello, a 22-year-old student who disappeared on 6 October 2010 while he was on his way to university. Leaving at 9am from Firminy (Loire), his phone line was limited at 5:37pm to... Chambéry, hence the possible link with Nordhal Lelandais, which the relatives of the disappeared would like to see explored by investigators. And there are many unresolved disappearances.

Life without Adrien is an endless day. Same awakening, same nights. Between the two, try to live. Mute the question that has been eating them for three years now: where is their son? Marie-France and Salvatore Fiorello saw him for the last time on 6 October 2010. It's 9:30. Passing through the door, Adrien says,"Mom, I'm not coming home for lunch. Will you pick me up at 7:30? I'll meet you as usual? And above all, don't forget to buy ink for my printer, I need it. See you tonight!" The 22-year-old student, in his fifth year of law school, slams the door of his home in Firminy, near Lyon. He has to catch a bus to get to St. Stephen University. In the evening, he's not there. The investigation will show he never made it to college. His mobile phone is located at 10 a. m. in downtown Saint-Étienne, at 5:37 p. m. in Chambéry. Then nothing.

You may have missed this post putting NL closer to Estelle.

Thanks for clearing that up! Wow if this is the case then it does all seem to be suspicious and could possibly be his first kidnapping/murder? However, yeah I don't see the M.O fitting this case, but then again, it seems as if Maelys was an anomaly if he did indeed kill J-CM, AN and AH. Maybe NL did kill Estelle and when he saw Maelys, he wanted to relive his first crime???

NORDAHL LELANDAIS: HOW INVESTGATORS WORK TO CONNECT THE CASES

Ouest France

A prime suspect in the disappearance of Maëlys on the night of 26-27 August, Nordhal Lelandais was also indicted in the case of Arthur Noyer's disappearance on the night of 11-12 April 2017. It was the investigation of the suspect's phone records that made this connection possible.

Fifteen years ago, this practice did not exist: the investigation of the movements of the phone of Nordahl Lelandais, the main suspect in the Maëlys case, established that on the evening of Arthur Noyer's disappearance, on the night of 11-12 April 2017, the suspect was in the same place. More precisely: the two men's phones moved in the same direction and at the same time. Chambéry prosecutor Thierry Dran announced on Wednesday that Nordahl Lelandais has been indicted for murder.

This linking hides a complex and tedious task of investigating each unsolved disappearance case and determining whether Nordahl Lelandhais' mobile phone has triggered a telephone relay terminal in the area of the disappearance.
According to Jean-Marc Bloch, a former divisional commissioner in the national police force, in this configuration,"things are reversed: we start with the alleged perpetrator and move towards his possible victims. And doing an investigation backwards is always very complicated."

Because in a classic homicide case, the victim is the first clue. We discover a link between the victim and the alleged perpetrator, a common story that went wrong.

In "opportunity murders," there's no such connection. It is by chance that the crime takes place at a random meeting. From then on,"anything that has not been solved in the area where Nordahl Lelandais was located, will be used to make connections," explains Jean-Marc Bloch. The police are trying to trace his whereabouts: where was he, when was he? Has anyone on his way here gone missing?

And that's what police officers in charge of unsolved disappearance cases do. Such as the Maëlys case, where Nordahl Lelandais is known to be present, and Arthur Noyer's where the suspect's mobile phone has narrowed down at the same time and in the same direction as that of the missing soldier. But other cases are also concerned: the disappearance of Adrien Mourialmé, 24 years old, in July 2017 at the edge of Lake Annecy. This young Belgian cook has vanished without taking his things with him.

The disappearance of 45-year-old Ahmed Hamadou at Fort Tamié on the night of 7-8 September 2012. And that of Jean-Christophe Morin, 23 years old, in the night of 9 to 10 September 2017, whose backpack was the only item found and who also disappeared at Fort Tamié.

At the beginning of September, Estelle Mouzin's parents, who disappeared on 9 January 2003, requested that Nordahl Lelandais be heard in the case of their daughter's disappearance.

It was said earlier that Lelandais did not have one but two phones, and lied about the existence of the second one.

As for the Alps murders, not mentioned here, there was no network on that hill. Brett Martin, the English cyclist who found the bodies of Sylvain Mollier and the adults of the al-Hilli family, had to go downhill to call the police. But locating Lelandais in the vicinity of the Comble d'Ire around the time of the shooting would already mean an enormous breakthrough. For now, the connection is weak and Lelandais is no real POI in this case.

It will be four months, Wednesday, that Maëlys vanished in Pont-de-Beauvoisin in the night of 26 to 27 August. The 9-year-old girl was attending a wedding party with her parents and sister at the Salle des Fêtes.

This Wednesday, December 27, at 3 p.m., a "marche blanche" is organized by the parents of the girl. It will start from the village hall of Pont-de-Beauvoisin or from Lycée Pravaz.

The one thing that made me doubt and question if the suspect was her kidnapper/killer, was that it was so bold and so stupid, to commit that crime. It seemed like a first time perpetrator would be too cautious, frightened, to do such a bold, obvious crime.

But if it is true that he was involved with several earlier murders, then it makes more sense. He has never been caught, nor even suspected in these earlier crimes, so he had no fear of being caught again, it seems./

Quelqu’un pourrait t’il dire à @Dominique_Rizet @sarahloucohen et plus généralement a @BFMTV que l’audi A3 de Nordhal Lelandais n’est pas noire mais gris clair ?

Can anyone tell @Dominique_Rizet @sarahloucohen and more generally @BFMTV that the Nordhal Lelandais Audi A3 is not black but light gray?)
