hmmmmmmmmmmm could it have been "Car men trashed it" or "Car man trashed it" instead of Carmen?

it was 'the cell phone's trashed' and 'carmen mishandled it.'

in any case, i think 'carmen' sounds less likely then 'someone' as in 'someone mishandled it'.

could be carmen or cameron, but i just hear 'someone'.

How can she owe over $500 on a cell phone bill? She must of made alot of phone calls during the day. Didn't she have have unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited text, mobile to mobile?

Another possibility... she did a prepay phone with another name. Or even in her own name - but again, two phones. I'm sure LE's already subpeonaed the mobile phone company(ies) for information regarding her account(s). I'm sure this will all shake out, provided she did have two legitimate phones. I still think it's just another strand in her web...

She told Lee about the lost phone, but she didn't tell him it was the same number until he asked for the number of that phone. I think she was originally trying to cover for the fact that her phone wouldn't show the calls she had claimed. But she couldn't just make up a number, when pressed, because any number she made up could be so easily disproved.
I don't think she's very intelligent, really.

I have been told two phones can't have the SAME number as it is illegal. So that part of it does not wash.......

You can have two different phones and switch back and forth between. That is not illegal. The phone that is inactive would not have an assigned TN to it and therefore would not ring to or call out of during the time of inactivation.

Clear as mud right?

I don't think there is anything even remotely that complex. I think it's just as simple as she didn't have a job and she survived stealing from family and friends.

This I agree with...............she was cut off at home and was stealing from anyone she could.

I believe AT&T can tell them if the SIM card had been switched to another phone. I recently bought a phone off EBAY and put my old SIM card in the new phone. Within a day I logged onto AT&T's website and it had already recognized the new phone type and changed my equipment associated with that number. When I selected the equipment a question box popped up and asked me if the phone type was correct.

On May 3rd Casey tells her Myspace friend (http://comment.myspace.com/index.cf...&MyToken=7acb92a2-1b45-4f4b-82d0-be6d03148abf - go to page 5) that she got a BlackJack. IIRC didn't she tell Lee on a jail call that she only had the phone a few weeks?
This could be another lie or a different BlackJack but I thought is was worth pointing out. I've saved the screen shot in case they shut the site down.

Thanks for that.
From Casey to Heather?

i just got a blackjack...it's pretty great. that's what i would recommend.

If you read my post on what SIM cards do you will understand how that is possible.

A SIM card or Subscriber Identity Module is a portable memory chip used in some models of cellular telephones. All she would have to do is simply take the SIM out of one phone and into the other one. The SIM is already programmed with you number, phone book, text messages and other information, kind of like the hard drive on your computer that automatically activates the phone when you put it in.
A SIM card can come in very handy. For example, let's say your phone runs out of battery power at a friend's house. Assuming you both have GSM phones. You can remove the SIM card from your phone and slide it into your friend's phone to make your call. Your carrier processes the call as if it were made from your phone, so it won't count against your friend's minutes.
If you upgrade your phone there's no hassle involved. The SIM card is all you need. Just slide it into the new phone and you're good to go. You can even keep multiple phones for different purposes. An inexpensive phone in the glove compartment, for example, for emergency use, one phone for work and another for home. Just slide your SIM card into whatever phone you wish to use.

Which makes it really easy to change phones cause all you have to do is take the SIM out of one and put it in another and you are already set up. So yes whatever phone you put that perticular sim card in would then have that same phone number since the phone number is associated to the SIM and not the phone.

unlike CDMA like Verizon or Sprint where the programming is done on the actual phone, then you have to actually have your provider program the phones ESN (electronic serial number) on to your account so that the phone is seen by the network.

:blowkiss: Someone else could have provided the phone for "work related" reasons. Please remember the backward thread and how "Carmen trashed it".

Last night on NG, Nate, room mate of TonE talked about Caylee playing with him and another room mate named Carmen. Hummmmm makes you wonder.
The plot thickens.

It was Cameron not Carmen.

AT&T should be able to backtrack the blackjack. When the SIM card was installed in it, it's ESN? was recorded. The company should then be able to tell what account that ESN was associated with.

A blackjack is a PDA or Data phone. If she was using it to check email and surf the net that is not included in your minutes. Most phone companies charge you by kilobytes used and trust me it adds up, just ask my daughter! LOL. She has AT&T and a Blackberry and has gotten bills over $300!

OK, I realize that 99% of what Casey Anthony says is a half-truth at best, still, I've been re-listening to Casey's phone call to Lee @ end of July that includes info on her other (i.e. "BlackJack") cell phone.

IF, we play along for a minute, and, indeed, there WAS another cell phone (i.e. "BlackJack" or other) Casey appears to be TRYING to tell Lee that she tossed her cell phone @ Universal Park when she was taken their by LE, 7/16. She indicates the last time she had it for "certain" was when she was in through the park "in through the park talking to a couple of mutual friends", and "it wasn't necessarily fun" and "not through work". At this point she knows the calls are made public and must try to get the point across indirectly.

She later indicates that these "mutual friends" are the ONLY ones she talked to about Caylee missing. The two names she gives are complete fabrications (oh, how ironic) and she disagree’s with the spelling of Juliet to try to clue Lee into what she is trying to tell him, but, he doesn't get it (i.e. the “mutual friends” are the LE that accompanied her 7/16)!

She also indicates "J Blanchard Park" as a potential place she lost it too to try to clue Lee into what she is trying to tell him - as in places she's been escorted around to w/ LE 7/15-7/16, but, he doesn't get it.

She is VERY emphatic about telling him how it might've been lost "that's the thing...if it fell out of my bag...if it fell out of my pocket [LONG PAUSE i.e. "DON’T YOU GET IT?!?!?].

My hope is that LE figured this out some time ago and retraced Universal route they took on 7/16 (i.e. Did she go to a restroom unmonitored?), and checked the lost-and-found @ Universal for any/all cell phones. IF there indeed was another cell phone Casey used, regardless of what type, it may have been tossed in a place where it would be hard to tie back to its original owner.

Casey may have stolen the second cell phone to use when she needed to go undetected, and, hence, didn't have a charger to use. J.P. Chatt immediately went shopping for an iPhone the day he returned from Puerto Rico, suggesting that something had happened to his phone.

J.P.’s phone records would be worth a search.

Dunno about the compatibility of the sim chip between Casey’s phone and the other phone. Maybe just a complete ruse there.

Perhaps not new ideas, but, just in case, I thought they were worth sharing.

These references to J Blanchard and "it was not fun" I believe are referring to the second story that we heard recently through Tony Padilla and JP. If this is the story she told her mom and Lee and her lawyer, that Zenaida and Samantha took Caylee in J Blanchard Park, then it follows that Casey told Lee the phone may have fallen out of her pocket, during the struggle when Zenaida jumped her or knocked her down. The mutual friends could refer to Zenaida and Samantha, and I firmly believe this is the big story Casey told Baez and elaborated on a "script." The defense does not have to say a thing at trial to prove her not guilty, and this story gives Baez a hook to bait the media. Baez said that we do not know all the details and this story fits that bill. as ridiculous as it seems to us.

Can you tell me where you read that "J.P. Chatt immediately went shopping for an iPhone the day he returned from Puerto Rico,"? I am 99% sure JP Chatt is Caylee father.

Do you have a link to JP's photo? Just out of curiosity, where are you going with this? I have a "rediculous" but not impossible theory of my own.

This is not the best pidture I have seen but it was the first one I could dig up.

This link does not work from this page. I have no idea why. It works from a word doc. where I copied it to but not when you re-copy it. I did a search and found it already posted on the forum. You could do a search under the original name who posted the info and look at that way. Sorry.

Maybe some one can tell me why this happens. I am like 'turn the computer on and have no clue how thing works' type.

LE said tonight on NG that Caseys phone was turned off or cut off during mid June 28-29th. That may be related.
On another hand, she kept telling Lee "mutual" friends. Did she mean mutual between Lee and herself? I realize she also told LE mutual fr. also though. just a thought.
Online posts June 25-29 are few from Casey that have been discovered.
Amy said in 400pgers JP went to get a IPhone. Said lines were very long. JP seems real into electronics and digitals so I can see the rush to get the latest thing.
I also rem Casey saying the phone would not stay charged but a half hr or so.
What I cannot figure,is: Casey had a cell with her and LE because her number was showing up on friends cell phones late hrs July 15/16 in LE docs.
Note that it was way later on the morn of July 16, LE went to Tonys to look for a cell phone and a camera but it is not stated what they took in the 400 docs. Nothing from Tonys mentioned in them as being taken but we do know that LE ended up examining a Nokia camera and finding the video and pictures of Caylee.

Ok. I made quite an elaborate post the other day about how/why she would be changing the SIM card out in the phones.

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2655734&postcount=7

What I want to point out is.... IF there was another phone, AT&T picks up the ESN the instant that phone is in use from her account.

Let's says she's using her current phone, SIM card intact. The system recognizes that ESN (serial number) of that particular phone.

If she puts that same SIM card into the blackjack, voila, the system then recognizes the ESN from the blackjack.

The phone company should be able to run the ESN from the blackjack that had been detected to see what account that blackjack is associated with.

Reading this portion of the transcript makes me think LA knew exactly what she did,. as far as 'work' goes. How would Casey have ditched a phone right under LE nose. If she ditched a phone prior to going to Universal with LE I do not see anything in this call between LA and Casey that would tell LA where that phone would be unless it to reasure LA that there was no way it could be found. JMO

LEE: For work, or for otherwise?

I was in through the park talking to just a couple of mutual friends of….

LEE: So you were up there for fun or whatever?

CASEY: It wasn’t necessarily fun, but yes not through work at that moment…

LEE: I’ve got you, ok, I understand.
