Kendrick was found, deceased, in a rolled up gym mat on January 11, 2013 at his high school.

Press Conference to announce formal review of the Kendrick Johnson case

What we need are people with facts and knowledge of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Johnson's death to present those to us. Facts, not feelings or opinions, no matter how sincere they may be, are the basis of a legal investigation. At this time, however, I am of the opinion that a sufficient basis exists for a formal review of the facts and investigation surrounding the tragic death of Kendrick Johnson.
Should sufficient information be developed to warrant a criminal civil rights investigation I will ask the FBI to open a Civil Rights or any other appropriate criminal investigation.

Attorney Benjamin Crump Provides Update On Death Of Kendrick Johnson
“This is a real-life murder mystery where these parents sent their child to school with a book bag and he was returned to them in a body bag,” Crump said in a phone interview. “They brought me in to make sure this is not able to be swept under the rug in small-town Georgia and they never get justice for their child.”
 
Second Autopsy performed by Dr. William Anderson in June 2013. Anderson was hired by the attorneys for Kendrick Johnson's family. His findings differed from the official autopsy performed by Maryanne Gaffney-Kraft, medical examiner for Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
 
TOUCHTON SAYS KJ DEATH "ACCIDENTAL"
VALDOSTA, GA— Leigh Touchton, the former president of the local chapter of the NAACP, said during an interview on The Morning Drive with Chris Beckham that she believes Lowndes student Kendrick Johnson’s death was an accident and that accusations of a cover-up of murder are not substantiated in fact.

VALDOSTA — “When this thing all started, I really thought there was something to it,” said the Rev. Floyd Rose, Valdosta-Lowndes County chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference president, “but when the dust settles, the truth will still be the truth.”

“When this [article] is written, the people who aren’t driven by emotion will sit down and look through it and say ‘unh, unh’ just like I did,” said Rose. “All those folks now who are jumping on a bandwagon that ain’t going nowhere will end up saying, ‘Now we understand.’”

Fredricka Wison finds it odd that Kendrick Johnson, "who can be seen on video tape going into the gym and playing basketball", and next thing you know he's crawling into a mat going after a shoe that is far away from where he is.

Ken Hodges says he would be surprised if the US Attorney found anything different than the conclusions of the original investigation.

(CBS) - The Georgia Secretary of State is investigating the funeral home that handled the remains of a Georgia teen found dead inside a rolled-up wrestling mat in his high school gym, according to a spokesperson for Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
Cody Whitlock said the office of the Secretary of State could not comment further due to its ongoing investigation into the Harrington Funeral Home in Valdosta, Ga. It is unclear when the probe began.
