July 13, 2013 – Follow-up article in the Seattle Times http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2021389291_janedoefoloxml.html

The Seattle Times posted the story ..., tweeted it and put it up on Facebook. More than 4,200 of you recommended the story on Facebook. Someone even created a “Who is Lori Ruff?” Facebook page. There were hundreds of tweets and retweets.

(The) case was picked up by other publications and translated into (various) languages. There’s no question it has reached hundreds of thousands of eyeballs.

The bottom line is, the mystery remains. But the farther the story spreads, the more likely it is that someone from her past will step forward.

After no media for the last two years, FLEK got a mention in the Edmonton Journal recently.

Investigator “99 per cent sure” missing Lori Kasprick isn’t mystery woman Lori Kennedy
A woman lost, a woman found

By Jana G. Pruden, Edmonton Journal June 25, 2015

EDMONTON - It seems like an almost perfect fit: There is a woman lost, a woman found.

Both are named Lori, tall with dark hair, and slight gaps between their top front teeth. Lori Kasprick was last seen in Alberta and Manitoba in the mid-1970s. Lori Kennedy appeared in Texas in 1988.

But it appears the mysteries of the two women are not so tidily solved.

“This can’t be ruled out, but early indications are they’re probably not the same,” said Social Security Administration special agent Joseph Velling, who has been working on the Lori Kennedy case in the United States for several years. “That won’t be able to be confirmed until the law enforcement agencies compare their data and it is ruled out officially.”

Thanks for all of the detailed information. I've never seen the either of these documents. Do we have images or addresses listed on these ID's?

I don’t know why this popped into my mind today—but wow, solved! With good sleuthing, she was identified.

Such an anticlimactic solution; an unhappy teen—perhaps showing the earliest signs of mental illness— ran away and started a new life.

I was really happy to read that her daughter now has extended family on her mother’s side. The Ruffs were kind to promote that.
