Identified! SC - Myrtle Beach, WhtFem at beach, dolphin tat, May'13 - Robin Kelly

I can see a fairly good resemblance, Five. Good find! Good eye.

Thank you! All I did was Google images of missing women with auburn hair. I wish we knew for sure that she's still missing. Looks like the folks at Project Jason never heard back from APD, but maybe I'll message them on Facebook and ask.

I messaged APD to see if Mary is still missing. Will let you know if I hear back.

Had a dream last night that our Dolphin Lady was identified, so I'm taking another crack at it. What do you guys think of Mary Wible--if we can confirm that she's indeed still missing. I don't see her in Namus but I don't see any updates in the 2012 reports either.

(snipped)

Oddly, I had a dream about her being identified a night or two after that, while I was on vacation. I don't usually dream about cases here.

Hi all, I have another possible match to consider.

Can I get your input?

Please tell me what you think.

Visually she looks very interesting but it says Julie has an insulin pump. Wouldn't that be an automatic rule out? Unless she had it removed but that seems unlikely

If she was swimming in the water she would need to remove it. My son is type 1. The pump is tethered by a tube and inserted by a canula and the site of the insert is changed every three days. That's IF she could afford to continue using the pump instead of syringes and vials of insulin. Also, could have died from low blood sugar and seizure. ... facial features look very matchy. Can't hurt to check more into it.

It's been a year ago today that she was found. It's sad that she still isn't identified.

Thanks for thinking of her! I usually spend this weekend in myrtle beach, and was there last year while she was found. I haven't been able to get her off my mind ever since, and I remember thinking at the time of the incident that she would be identified quickly. Sadly that wasn't the case, and I now wonder if she will ever be ID'd. Not to sound like I'm giving up hope, but I'm not nearly as optimistic as I was before. We need a fresh approach I guess.

Hey all you myrtle beach locals who joined for Heather Elvis's case: has there been any local mention of our dolphin doe for the anniversary?

TIA.

Good eye, EmiLove I didn't catch that. However, I did a quick search and it looks like there isn't as much to one of those pumps as I would have thought there would be. They don't even leave that much of a mark when they are removed.

Your point is a good one though.

The images on NAMUS for our UID show a heavier woman that Julie Earley was reported to be. I would like to see if we can exclude her. The facial resemblance is the main reason I would like to see her considered.

Still no rule outs....

I could not find Alicia Medina listed in NamUs nor mentioned previously in the thread. She was reported missing in 2007 by her son...the bulletin is dated 2009. She is still listed as missing with the LA Crimestoppers. Long way from home but stranger things have happened..

Things that match
  • 5'1 to 5'6
  • 150 to 165 lbs
  • brown/hazel eyes
  • hair color
  • 51 to 54 yrs old at time of disappearance (56 to 59 in 2013)
  • Police do not believe there was foul play.

Things that don't
  • no mention of a tattoo (but 5 years since missing)
  • mole or birthmark near nose
  • far from home (but stranger things have happened)

I hope this is OK to ask and Im not breaking TOS...
It is possible for someone from the States to call this in.
I don't seem to get much feedback or even know if the call-ins Im doing are being looked at.
It might be because Im not in the USA.

Local newspaper article about Alicia Medina: http://www.surfsantamonica.com/ssm_...7_Police_Step_up_Search_for_Missing_Woman.htm

She looks quite promising. The tattoo isn't a negative because she would have had more than enough time to get it. Facial resemblance seems quite strong.

I haven't been able to find a thing about Mary Waggle except the entry in the Iowa Cold Case website. I wonder if she's no longer missing?

Alicia caught my eye on Charley a few days ago. There's definitely a resemblance. My only hesitation is the birthmark or mole or whatever by her nose, which is visible in her photo. But maybe that just isn't mentioned in Dolphin Lady's description?

Ironically, there are a few SM detectives in my graduate program. I doubt it's her because they would have mentioned the dolphin tat but when I see the detectives, I'll mention it to them.

Here is another picture of her. She looks very different.

In the article it stated:

Medina has a birthmark by her nose, and although she’s short, her son said, she can be “mean” and won’t let anyone push her around.

The Birthmark must be very light, or small, or both - as I cant see it in her photo (bad eyes, small screen ;)).
It would possibly have been noted on the UID if she had one? .. there's no mention of it.

I was surprised at the number of Mary Waggles there were - but I am not seeing anything that IOWA Mary Waggles has been found.
There was a Facebook report for her from the IOWA Police in 2013 - a year after she had disappeared. Mary Waggle is listed under Cold Cases - not Missing Persons.
There has been no follow up on the Facebook page since the 2013 post that she has been found as yet.

ETA: OOps - sorry about the repeat info, just saw fivefelines post :)

The birthmark is on the right side of her nose, almost onto the cheek below the eye. It's quite large but the same color as her skin. It looks more like a mole than a birthmark.

It's the kind of thing she could have had removed.

Thank you DrDMike. . I may be wrong but the tattoo on the UID looks fairly new to me
