Are we focusing on the Grateful Dead Fan theory too much?

That's very good question. He could walk out of (likely from central PA) Amish community and prefers to live in modern ways after he see it differently from 1800's amish culture. The community might not welcome him back once he crossed that path. That explains us that he doesn't have ID, financial, trip bag & car to be his own world. He just wandering around the states as homeless guy but as Grateful Dead follower.

It's worth for the case detective to check in Amish community to see if they recognize the UID from the sketch.

We are all going on this sketch, Im starting to believe maybe the sketch was way off!

The Amish theory is a good one, but the odds are also very small - but we have to look at all possibilities!

What about the possibility that he was from another country?

I have long believed that Jason might have been from an Amish or Mormon community where it is rare to involve LE in missing persons cases. These communities rarely use technology/Internet (never in the case of the Amish), and so it's plausible that they would not report/look for him.

This is strengthened if had no dental work done (all natural teeth), anyone remember his dental details? I think he had all natural teeth. As Amish and many strict Mormon communities do not utilize modern dentistry.

Cynthia Lynn Davis was unidentified for 15 years, never was issued as a missing person, and had family members strewed all across the country. The police dept handling her case would broadcast stories every year about her body hoping someone would follow up. It took 15 years for her stepdad (estranged) to offer help in identifying her.

So it's also perfectly plausible that Jason Doe has a family but they have not/will not look for him unless they are directly approached with his info.
